Lizzy Borden launches new track, “The Scar Across My Heart”, from first album in 11 years

– June 11th, 2018 –

Lizzy Borden fans who simply cannot wait any longer to hear a sample of the new studio effort from one of theatrical metal’s top frontmen, Lizzy Borden, are in luck – “The Scar Across My Heart” (from the forthcoming full-length, My Midnight Things) can be heard via this link: youtube.com/watch?v=fCpHuEmPNaM

Lizzy Borden comments: “With ‘The Scar Across My Heart,’ I wanted to explore those kinds of relationships that tattoo your soul. You’re forever linked to this person, even though it can never be for one reason or another. ‘We bury all our yesterdays and try and drink these scars away’ – I’m talking about a no-hope situation, a never-meant-to-be situation, but I’m still singing ‘We’re gonna make it now.’ I’m always looking for that human reaction no matter how delusional or unrealistic.”

June 15th will see the release of My Midnight Things via Metal Blade Records, which can be pre-ordered at metalblade.com/lizzyborden in the following formats:

To celebrate My Midnight Things‘ release, Lizzy Borden will have an album release party on Thursday, June 14th from 7-10PM at the Hard Rock Live, Las Vegas (3771 South Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109). Hosted by Jim Florentine (along with Lizzy Borden in attendance!), there will be giveaways, drink specials, signed CDs/LPs available for purchase, and more at this event, which is open to the public. Please RSVP to mymidnightparty@gmail.com to confirm your attendance!

Having signed a new contract with Metal Blade on the strength of three demo tracks, Borden opted to produce My Midnight Things himself, with Joey Scott as co-producer, who also handled all the drumming duties. “I knew what I was going for and had doubts that I could find a producer who would understand that,” Borden explains. “My approach is very different than what is happening in today’s current sound.”

The album was also mixed by Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Black Sabbath, Adele, U2) and mastered by Tom Baker (David Bowie, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Tom Petty), and is already receiving rave reviews, from Alt Revolt, Pure Grain Audio, and Royal Flush:

Borden paints a ten-song art gallery show and lets the listener decide what he or she sees on the canvas.”Alternative Revolt Magazine

“Catchy riffs and melodies that are sure to be trapped inside your head, bouncing around your skull for days to come.”PureGrainAudio

“The resulting creation yielded what is arguably the strongest vocal performance of Borden‘s career.”Royalflushmagazine.com

For decades, Lizzy Borden has been one of theatrical rock’s top front-men. And on June 15th, Borden will issue his first album in 11 years, My Midnight Things, via Metal Blade Records. The extended layoff between albums has not dulled his desire to rock and shock. “Although we have stayed busy touring all over the world, I missed being a recording artist. I look at the new album as a new beginning, I pushed the restart button on my career,” Borden comments.

For a preview of My Midnight Things, head over to Loudwire.com now for the video premiere of “Long May They Haunt Us”, which Lizzy Borden proclaims as “the most meaningful song on the ‘My Midnight Things‘ album. They haunt us with more than a memory, a haunt that we hope will never go away.” The video (directed by David Brodsky / www.davidsbrodsky.com) can be viewed at: loudwire.com
