Bloodway Posts “Midnight Scout” Video

Romania’s Bloodway will release a new album on November 3rd, 2017 and today a new video comes online heralding that release. Check out “Midnight Scout” — the first single from “A Fragile Riddle Crypting Clues” — in the YouTube player below.

Bloodway cements an ongoing relationship with I, Voidhanger Records with this album, closing chapter of a trilogy that started in 2014 with the “Sunstone Voyager And The Clandestine Horizon” EP and continued the following year with the band’s first full-length album, “Mapping The Moment With The Logic Of Dreams.”

Led by artist Costin Chioreanu, Bloodway blends black metal, progressive metal, heavy rock and psychedelia in equal parts, forging a very peculiar style that revolves around deep emotions and dark inner visions.

“In this new chapter the same character from the previous albums returns to the world of humans, but with a different and larger perspective, animated by his experiences and mental transformations,” Chioreanu explains. “The world is nothing but a prison, with virtual walls risen from the controlled collective intellect, where all the prisoners are locked in by themselves. Everyone is free to go and live outside the so-called system, but nobody really wants to leave the
cells for the unknown.”

Oni Covers Linkin Park’s “A Place For My Head”

Technical progressive metal band Oni has publicly cited Linkin Park as a longtime influence, and after the recent untimely death of vocalist Chester Bennington, the band decided to enter the studio to record a cover track and pay homage to that fallen musical hero.

Check out Oni’s metal-charged cover of the classic Linkin Park track, “A Place For My Head,” in the YouTube player below. Frontman Jake Oni comments:

“Linkin Park was the first band that introduced me into heavier music, which ultimately lead me down my path of metal. His voice and lyrics affected so many people, especially me. The world will not be the same without Chester Bennington. We decided to record this cover as a tribute to Linkin Park and Chester. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and fans.”

ONI recently wrapped up tours with Devin Townsend Project, Gojira, Deafheaven, and Code Orange, and has even more touring plans scheduled for the fall, to be announced soon. Stay tuned for more information.

Brendon Small Returns With “Galaktikon II: Become The Storm”

Brendon Small – the mastermind behind massive metal band Dethklok and the Metalocalypse show – has been teasing a new chapter of his popular Galaktikon saga for months. After spending the past two years writing and recording new material and dropping random hints throughout the media and at appearances, the wait is over.

This year, marking the 10 year anniversary of his breakout Dethklok release, “The Dethalbum,” Brendon Small will reveal his upcoming high-stakes intergalactic extreme rock/metal album, “Galaktikon II: Become The Storm.”

The album will be released via physical and digital retailers on August 25th, 2017 (Megaforce Records/MRI), with digital pre-orders set to become available next Friday, June 2nd.

Take a 360° hyperspeed trip through the galaxy and hear a clip of brand new music via the YouTube player below.

“Galaktikon II: Become The Storm” follows the space-age theme of 2012’s original Galaktikon album, with a conceptual storyline and a heavier, darker, more brutal sound. In addition to Brendon Small on vocals and guitar, the new album will feature acclaimed musicians and Dethklok alum Bryan Beller (bass/The Aristocrats, Dweezil Zappa, Steve Vai) and Gene Hoglan (drums/Testament, Death, Dark Angel). The release was co-produced by Small and Grammy-nominated producer/engineer Ulrich Wild, who also worked behind the board on the Dethklok albums.

“This record is a combination of all the sounds I’ve been making throughout my creative life,” says Brendon Small. “It’s as heavy as I want it to be and melodic as I want it to be – it’s the bigger, darker record I wanted to hear. And what a way to celebrate my 10 year anniversary of making metal with Gene, Bryan and Ulrich, some of the best in the industry. I’m excited to have it live inside listeners’ heads and let their imaginations take over!”
