Trollfest To Release New Album Next Year

Trollfest is gearing up to release a new album next year to follow 2014’s “Kaptein Kaos” (reviewed here) and the band has also checked in with this year-end recap:

“So that’s it for 2015 folks! 2015 was a good year for us. It started great with two gigs on ??70,000 Tons? Of Metal, were we got to enjoy sun, sea, a fantastic ship and meet great people!

“We only did one tour this year, but in return, it was the longest one we ever did all around USA and Canada for over a month together with the awesome ??Korpiklaani? and ??Ensiferum?. A blast indeed!

“The festival summer was good. Big ones and small ones. Maybe the highlight were the main stage at ?Summer Breeze?. This was also the last show of our long time accordion player Manskow. We’re really sad to see him leave, but life goes on and maybe a new troll will find its way to this weird crew J All year through we have been working ion new material.

“We had a mountain of songs to choose from and we took 14 songs to the studio in December. Over New Year’s, we will continue the recording and release one hell of an album in 2016!

“Along with the new album coming out we are really looking forward to a hectic year of touring and recording and we’re looking forward to see ya all out there! Thank you so much for the support in 2015, let’s make 2016 a even better year! Happy New Year!”

“For us, this year ends with the departure of Clément, the arrival of Thibaut and a great show hometown at Divan du Monde, surrounded by friends sharing stage with Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and The Earl Grey!

“Take care of yourselves and your close families and friends. Love, share and stay positive. Happy New Year!”

“An eventful year comes to an end: first of all, we want to wish all of you a very happy New Year and the best possible start into 2014! Many thanks for your great support!

“For us 2013 was a very eventful year. We put finishing touches on our latest album ‘Opaque,’ recorded it with Lasse Lammert at LSD Studio and finally released it via Apostasy Records, which is the perfect partner for us!

“Beyond all that, we had our first show with Raimund in July followed by the Dark Season Tour together with our friends Dicentress. It was a blast and we’ll surely never forget all those great impressions.

“With the beginning of 2014, we’re going to work on some new material. It might seem a little early for one or another but those who know us also know that we’re taking a lot of time to create our music and since we don’t want you waiting another six years we’ll kick things off a little earlier.

“From midyear on, you’ll have the chance to see us live again. Updates will be posted here as soon as possible! Along these lines, happy New Year everybody!”

Port Noir Finishes Recording Album, Issues 2012 Recap

Swedish rock/metal outfit Port Noir has issued the following year-end recap and announcement about completing work on a new album:

“Wow! 2012 is coming to an end. This year has been amazing in many ways. We managed to write 30+ songs for our upcoming debut album and a pre-production was done on all of these. Thankfully, the hardest part during this process was to choose which songs that would be recorded in the studio. We have been opening up for In Flames.

“And to work with Daniel Bergstrand in Dugout Studios was a dream that came true! We have just finished the recording and the album will be sent to mastering during January. Can`t wait to let you hear! This year has been very inspiring and we have learned so much!

“Thanks to all of you wonderful people who followed us this year. And to all of you who made this possible for us. You know who you are!

“With that said, we wish you a Happy New Year! 2013 will be our year!”

J.D. Overdrive Issues New Album Update

Polish act J.D Overdrive has issued the following year-end recap and update about working on a new album:

“The Mayans were wrong, what a surprise! OK, since we’re not going anywhere just yet, we thought we’d do a little sum up of the last twelve months. We have quite a successful year behind us, lots of awesome gigs, including supporting Soulfly and Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens in Warsaw, a mini-tour with Anti Tank Nun, performances at Rock Stars Festival, River of Booze, Radio Revolta Fest, the return of the Night of the Living Rock ‘brand’… Happy happy joy joy.

“The New Year should be exciting as well – at this moment we’re almost done with recording guitars for our sophomore album which we hope will get released in the 1st half of 2013. It’s gonna be bigger, heavier and better – this we can promise. We’re also cooking up quite a surprise in the concert department but shush for now…

“So all in all we’d like to thank everyone who made sure that 2012 was so easy on us. And we’d like to wish everyone a happy holiday and a brutal hangover on January 1st. See you all in 2013!”
