Scorpions To Headline Bloodstock Open Air 2019

he organisers of Britain’s Bloodstock Open Air festival has confirmed the second headliner for next year’s edition of the event. Bringing the weekend to a close on Sunday night will be German hard rock/heavy metal pioneers, Scorpions. The festival is set to take place at Catton Park, Derbyshire between Thursday 8 August and Sunday 11 August 2019. The initial lineup is as follows:

Cradle Of Filth
Dee Snider
Hypocrisy
Queensryche
Soilwork

Rock Goddess Parts Company With Bassist Tracey Lamb

New Wave of British Heavy Metal veterans Rock Goddess, led by sisters Jody and Julie Turner (vocals/guitar and drums respectively,) has announced that they have parted company Tracey Lamb and have had to pull out of an appearance at the Metal Magic festival.

Says the band: “Owing to unforeseen personal circumstances, Tracey is unable to perform at Metal Magic Festival this weekend and unfortunately the band will not be appearing. It is also with regret, she will no longer be able to commit to Rock Goddess and leaves with immediate effect. We wish her all the very best for the future.

“The band will be announcing a new bassist in due course. Thank you so much for the continued support and we can’t wait for you to hear the new album. See you on the road soon.”

Lorna Shore Vows To Continue On Without Vocalist Tom Barber

The recent addition of frontman Tom Barber to Chelsea Grin left a question mark over the future of vocalist’s former band, Lorna Shore. This weekend though Lorna Shore confirmed their plans to continue on without Tom Barber.

States the band:

“A chapter of this band has been shut forever. However, our story has just began to unfold.
there is no way we could ever turn our backs on the people who have made this band who we are. our loyal fanbase across the globe.

Deicide Finishing Up 12th Full-Length Album

Deicide are once again in the studio, this finishing up the recording sessions for their twelfth full-length release. The group commented of that via Facebook this weekend:

Varaha Gives Studio Update, Completes Drums on Debut Full-Length Album

Chicago-based atmospheric metal band Varaha is currently recording their first full length album and has provided the following update from the studio:

Cat’s out the bag. Drums are completed for the first full length Varaha album. Everything is sounding great so far. A big thank you to David Swanson for killing it behind the kit this weekend, and to Adam K. Stilson for capturing the sounds at Decade Music Studios… More announcements coming soon, more to come.

New Album “Interiors” Announced By Quicksand, New Song “Cosmonauts” Available For Streaming

Fresh off a successful headlining North American tour that wrapped up in the band’s hometown of New York City this weekend, Quicksand is pleased to share the new single “Cosmonauts.” The song is taken off the band’s first new album in 22 years – “Interiors” – which is out on November 10th via Epitaph.

Recorded at Studio 4 Recording in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, “Interiors” was produced and engineered by Will Yip (The Menzingers, Title Fight, Pianos Become the Teeth). While the album finds Quicksand embracing the cathartic, guitar-driven dynamic of earlier work, “Interiors” also takes on a wider spectrum of sound.
