Doro Reveals More, “Forever Warriors, Forever United” Album Details

“Forever Warriors, Forever United” – its 100 days to go until the release of Doro’s highly anticipated new studio album. 100 days of waiting until the metal queen unleashes 25 brand new songs, her first double album ever, upon the music world. But “Forever Warriors, Forever United” isn’t simply just a double album – it’s two new Doro records as one, which will be released as premium 2CD set and vinyl formats on August 17th, 2018 through Nuclear Blast.

On Forever Warriors, Doro channels her inner wild warrior, with tracks like “Bastards” or the first single “All For Metal” (release: June 8th) affirming this. Her duet with Amon Amarth frontman Johan Hegg “If I Can’t Have You…” is sure to bring any metal head to their knees. This is Doro like you’ve never heard her before!

Forever United takes a more sentimental turn, with lyrical topics covering friendship, love and companionship. Highlights include Doro’s tribute to the late and great Lemmy.

“We’ve been touring a lot during the last years. We collected a lot of impressions and got to meet many amazing people. That inspired me enormously,” explains Doro. “The songs and ideas simply bubble out of me. That process didn’t even end while being in the studio. We had 50 song ideas in the beginning which turned into 14 concrete album tracks. Suddenly we had 20 songs, and in the end it was even 24. I also wanted to record ‘Caruso’ in the last recording week.”

With”Forever Warriors, Forever United,” Doro presents two new records, featuring 19 regular tracks and 6 bonus songs, which include some big surprises!

This unique song writing marathon was based on” “Living Life To The Fullest” back in January 2016. Says Doro , “I was flying to Lemmy’s funeral when the track’s melody and lyrics suddenly came to mind. Lemmy was always very important to me. Everything went quickly from this point. As soon as a song was constructed, I headed to the studio – between all those shows and tours – to capture the freshness and live energy of the new tracks.”

The result is 25 songs in the form of two fantastic albums, showcasing all of Doro’s wonderful and varied facets.” Forever Warriors, Forever United” is another huge chapter added to her long history.

The album cover artwork was once again created by Doro’s favourite artist, Geoffrey Gillespie. It portrays Doro in the middle of a swarm of wild metal heads exuding attitude, power and positive vibes. “The cover and the title form a perfect unit,” Doro explains, “Just as it should be. It all fits perfectly in line with the songs, which also deal with some political themes.”

Doro continues: “On Forever Warriors, Forever United, there will be a lot of big rock heroes. Fans might be curious about the many awesome guest musicians involved. There are some big anthems on both albums, countless heavy songs, as well as heart-warming melodies! The records are supposed to give you power and thus contain a lot of energy”.

The first single “All For Metal” features several metal heroes, who can also be seen in the upcoming music video, which will be released on June 8th. The list of guest stars will be unveiled soon… and Doro is already convinced that “’All For Metal’ is going to be the new ‘All We Are’!”

Guitarist Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio, Dead Daisies) and former Warlock guitarist Tommy Bolan, who also contributed to the highly acclaimed album Triumph And Agony in 1987, will also be part of the new album.

Chugun Announces Music Video Concept Competition Winner

Chugun – which recently signed to Sliptrick Records and released the “Virus” album last year – had been running a competition to see which fan could come up with the best video idea, and now the winning concept has been announced. The band comments:

“We’ve received a bunch of ideas for the competitions from different places around the world –
some of those ideas were great, some of them made us smile, but there can only be one winner,
and the winner is Rhys Stevenson from England! Now he has a Chugun T-Shirt and a CD on the way to him. You can read his winning idea below.”

Song: “Unholy Warrior”

Set in the ancient port of Jaffa, crusader warriors come face to face with a legion of Islamic warriors lead by Saladin, they draw their weapons and stand glaring at each other on the steps in front of the ‘St. Peter’s Church’ in the background. Whilst the battle waits to start, Chugun are jamming / practising in a room in Tel Aviv to the song ‘Unholy Warrior’. When Denise enters the room, picks up the mic and sings the first word of the lyrics, simultaneously the crusader and Islamic forces charge and battle.

When Chugun finish and the battle rages in Jaffa, Chugun receive a phone call from the guys in Orphaned Land (or any other available Israeli band) who want to play beachball with them and so, Chugun drive to Jaffa only to come face-to-face with a horde of fighting warriors.
Immediately Denise steps out of the car and shouts in Hebrew ‘stop fighting you unholy warriors, make peace!’. The warriors stop fighting, turn to look at Denise who now has the band standing beside her, equidistant from the warriors on the other side is Saladin who looks on in fury as his forces lay down their weapons. Denise stands up to Saladin and requests that they stop fighting in the name of peace and wants to show him something.

Saladin follows her to the beach, where waiting to play beach volleyball are Orphaned Land (or as said another available Israeli band) and the other band’s vocalist explains that just like music, sport has enabled people to stop thinking about war, culture clashes and other negatives between nations. Saladin likes this and sends his warriors back to Turkey whilst he plays beach volleyball with his newfound Israeli friends. Before proclaiming himself as a ‘unholy warrior’ who feels he will leave a lasting legacy and a respected person throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

“We are honored to be invited to perform at the 7th annual Warriors of Metal Festival. We’ve kept an eye on this festival and watched it continually grow since it’s inception. We respect the credibility and reputation of this Festival, the organizer Datis Alaee, and the caliber of the Heavy Metal music and bands that have performed here throughout the years. WOM Fest’s dedication to the fans and music reminds me of an up and coming Keep it True or Headbangers Open Air Festival, but in the U.S.”

Winterhymn Added To WOM VII Pre-Festival

The Warriors of Metal Fest just announced that folk metal band Winterhymn has been confirmed to play the Pre-Fest Showcase scheduled for the eve of this year’s Warriors Of Metal Fest VII.
Band vocalist and guitarist Draug states:

“I am writing from the frost-clad, windswept mountains and untamed forests of Cincinnati, Ohio to inform our legions that we will have the honor of performing at the Pre-Fest Showcase of the Warriors of Metal Festival VII! Myself and the rest of Winterhymn are overjoyed to announce this and to join such a prestigious event!

We will be fresh off the road from Paganfest America V where we will be touring North America with Korpiklaani, Turisas, Chthonic, and Varg, and will be looking to revisit the classic blood-soaked, booze-drenched, battle-hardened Columbus metal hospitality that we have grown to love! We are sounding the call for all of our fellow Ohioans to meet us in Columbus, Ohio on June 26-28 and bring an early winter’s chill to the summer!”

The official video for “Stand Your Ground,” from Winterhymn’s penultimate release, “Songs for the Slain,” is now playing below.
