Harm’s Way will be touring in support of their new album, Posthuman. Having grown with each subsequent release, Posthuman is a devastating addition to the band’s catalog. “We’ve always stayed true to who we are and allowed the songwriting process to take shape organically from record to record, and as the band has progressed, our sound has become more refined with metal and industrial influences,” states drummer Chris Mills, while guitarist Bo Lueders succinctly sums up what people can expect when they first spin the record: “To a Harm’s Way fan, I would describe ‘Posthuman‘ as a blend of ‘Isolation‘(2011) and ‘Rust‘ (2015), but it’s sonically way more insane. To anyone else, I would simply say it’s full on heavy and full on aggression.”

Shadow Woods Metal Fest Announces Date & Venue Changes

The 2018 edition of Shadow Woods Metal Fest (aka Shadow Woods IV) had hoped to debut this year’s fest in a new location in Virginia, but it was not to be. The festival will return to the original Maryland location, Camp Hidden Valley. Due to changes in dates and venue, changes to the festival line-up had to be made.

Shadow Woods IV will now be held Sept 13-15, 2018 at Camp Hidden Valley (located at 4722 Mellow Rd. White Hall, MD) so that the fest could be presented in the manner that attendees have come to expect. All previously issued tickets will be honored for the new dates. Refunds will be given upon request by emailing Shadow.Woods.LLC@gmail.com.

Here’s what’s new: UADA and Panzerfaust will no longer be able to play the fest; they will play the post-fest show on September 22 at The WindUp Space in Baltimore, along with Imperial Trimphant and two past fest favorites Night Raids and Dark Water Transit. Tombs will also not be able to play the fest and were not able to play a rescheduled event.

The remainder of the Shadow Woods IV lineup remains remarkably unchanged, and three new bands have been added. As in previous years, Camp Hidden Valley will feature three alternating stages, this time it will be Woodland, Pavilion and Hall.

Slayer Announce Second North America Leg For Final World Tour

Literally by popular demand – with more than half the tour dates already either completely sold out or a sell-out imminent – today Slayer announces Leg Two, North America, of its final world tour, set to kick off on Thursday, July 26 at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, NH.

The tour will travel to 20 cities over about five weeks, culminating at San Jose’s SAP Center on August 26. Lamb of God, Anthrax, Testament and Napalm Death will accompany the band on all dates. The general ticket onsale for most dates begins this Friday, March 9 at 10AM (local). Very limited Slayer onstage + Meet & Greet + exclusive merchandise packages will be available. Log on to www.slayer.net for all ticket and package purchasing information.

A second North American leg for this tour had been considered to take place at some point down the line, but within 48-hours of the initial January 26 ticket on sale date, that all changed.

“We were blown away by the speed of sales for the final run,” said Rick Franks, President of Touring for Live Nation, one of the tour’s promoters. “Thirty-six years later and Slayer is bigger than ever before.”

On January 22, 2018, Slayer announced that it would do one last concert tour around the globe to thank their fans for all of their support over the years, for making the last three-and-a-half decades so packed with good times and unforgettable experiences, and then move on.
