Barren Earth To Record New Album In 2017

Barren Earth just checked in with this announcement about gearing up to hit the studio and track a new album:

“Hello friends! A bit of news for you: Barren Earth is currently preparing to record the follow-up to 2015’s ‘On Lonely Towers.’ We have booked Woodshed Studios for March and April, where we will work under Victor Santura’s watching eye.

“A ton of material has already been written, and it would be safe to say already now that it will differ quite strongly from our previous works. To be specific, we are working towards a darker and more aggressive feel, which we attempt to express both experimentally and with a good dose of blunt force!

“The songs are very varied, so it’s going to be extremely interesting to create an integrated entity for you to enjoy.”

This is how Mr. Santura comments on the cooperation: “Actually I am really excited about working with Barren Earth! The guys are fantastic musicians and the demo material I’ve heard so far sounds very promising, so I hope that the recording- and mixing sessions will be a great pleasure.”

Hate Working On New Album For 2014 Release

Hate has checked in with the following announcement bout working on new material for an upcoming release:

“Hey Metallers! Just to let you know that I have been using this 7-string monster from Ibanez (RG Prestige) while composing new tracks.

“It’s been a while since we started working on ideas for next album and I must say it all sounds very, very promising (to say the least)! I’ve never come up with riffs so monumental and powerful before and I’m convinced we’re opening new gates for our expression.

“Our ambition is to release a new album in 2014 and with all the developments it now seems perfectly possible! The recording has been planned to start in June next year. We will keep you posted on the progress. Until then, keep your fingers crossed!”

This new album follows previous full-length “Solarflesh” (reviewed here), and will be the band’s first album since the death of bassist “Mortifer” earlier this year.

Equilibrium’s Hati Refaeli Named New Krampus Drummer

Italian folk/melodic death metal act Krampus announced the band’s new drummer, Hati Refaeli (Equilibrium), to replace Carlo Andrian, who was struck by lightning in October of 2012.

The press release reads as follows:

“Drummer Hati Refaeli, currently of Equilibrium fame, has joined the Italian metal act Krampus as a full member in early 2013. Both band and management are very excited to add such a talented drummer to the mix, particularly at this point in time: Songwriting for a new album is in full gear, and the band is undergoing musical changes that will both elevate Krampus to the next level and pose a challenge to its eight band members.”

Refaeli commented:

“I’m very happy and excited to join forces with this talented and very promising group of young muchachos… I hope that this cooperation will bear fruits and that more people will enjoy the killer tunes Krampus has to offer….”.

Frontman Filippo added:

“We are very happy to have Hati with us, he’s an amazing drummer with a great style and a friend. We are sure he’ll fit the team perfectly! He’ll bring some fresh air and professional experience alongside his great attitude!”

Krampus is set to play several shows in Europe later this year (to be announced shortly), before entering the studio for the second time in two years.
