The Canadian metal heroes from Anvil today release a new video for the song “Zombie Apocalypse,” taken from their latest studio album “Anvil Is Anvil.”

ARTILLERY to tour Europe with ONSLAUGHT in July!

– April 28th, 2014 –

Danish masters of the riff, Artillery, have announced a summer tour in support of UK Thrashers ONSLAUGHT. Artillery’s latest album, “Legions,” was released on November 26, 2013 via Metal Blade Records and is available now! Listen to “Chill My Bones (Burn My Flesh)” and watch the video for “Legions” at metalblade.com/artillery.

Artillery comments: “Artillery is very anxious to hit the road with Onslaught and Hatriot, to support the overwhelming reception of Legions. We can’t wait to play some of the new songs together with some of the old classics. Looking forward to meet the best and most dedicated melodic thrashers out there!”

Artillery was formed in Copenhagen in 1982, and released their debut album “Fear of Tomorrow” in 1985 and the follow-up, “Terror Squad,” in 1987. Afterwards, the band saw a turbulent time with line-up changes, but by 1990 the band released the much acclaimed “By Inheritance” record. Artillery released their final effort with singer Flemming Rønsdorf in 1999 called “B.A.C.K.”

“Artillery are doing what they were surely born to do, namely hurling impressively intricate, ridiculously tight thrash anthems from every direction, they are still unstoppable.” Terrorizer Magazine

“one of the best thrash metal albums this year” Iron Fist Magazine

“The songwriting talent on display is formidable, and all the instruments turn potentially routine passages into extra appendages that work always in the band’s favor.” MetalSucks.net

“…this new album proves that they’re still fighting on, with no end to the war for thrash metal in sight.” NewNoiseMagazine.com

Studio Update On New Album Offered From Martyr

Dutch metal band Martyr are hard at work on the follow up to the band’s full length fourth studio effort and follow up to the 2011 release “Circle of 8” (see review here). In the latest report, the band states:

“After some amazing studio sessions with producer Jack Nobelen, Martyr has taken time off to work on the next couple of tracks for a return to ‘The Temple Of Doom’ in March.

“In March we will experience and try a few different recording techniques as well in perspective of usage of different amps, different recording techniques for Wilfried’s drums and more.

“It may be clear, as we said earlier, that we want to go for the best for this new Martyr record. That might mean it will take more time before a future release but it will be worth it. Same goes for our song arrangements.

“The first couple of songs recorded will be taken back to Martyr’s rehearsal room for critical listening sessions and re-arrangements. Although the songs are already sounding amazing and in our ‘humble’ opinion extremely good, we want the best of the best!

“Meanwhile Rop and Rick will be working on lyrics at the same time. And we also have some great live performances ahead of us. Just look at our upcoming gig list Meaning: we are quite busy and we love it!”
