Sifting Releases “Nothing But Us” Music Video

Venezuelan-American progressive metal outfit Sifting just released an emotional video for new single “Nothing But Us.” The video deals with challenging social issues such as bullying and rejection, by showing that it’s okay to be yourself, no matter what society expects of you.

The video was directed by Alejandro Fumero Gil, and “Nothing But Us” is the second single taken from upcoming full-length album “Not From Here.” The album was produced by Ryan Williams (Velvet Revolver, Rage Against the Machine), and Steve Evetts (Senses Fail, Suicide Silence), and is planned for worldwide release on September 29th, 2017 via Eclipse Records.

“Sometimes, we feel like we may not fit in, or that we are pushed to be something or someone other than who we are” says vocalist Eduardo Gil. “It’s easy to get so wrapped up in pleasing our friends, families, and co-workers, that we actually forget who we are. How can we enjoy life if we aren’t true to ourselves? We wrote this song about these feelings, to remind people that being different and unique is what makes life exciting. Without individuality, the world would be a very boring place. Our message to everyone is to find yourself and follow your heart. Only you know what that is… once you figure that out, go and take it!”

Sifting Responds To Trump’s Proposed Raise Act With New Song “Not From Here”

As a direct response to the Trump administration’s proposed Raise Act, Venezuelan-American progressive metal outfit Sifting just unveiled a video for new single “Not From Here.” The video was directed by Abelardo Malpica at LH FILM.

“Not from Here” also serves as the title track taken from an upcoming full-length album produced by Ryan Williams (Velvet Revolver, Rage Against the Machine) and Steve Evetts (Senses Fail, Suicide Silence), set for worldwide release on September 29th, 2017 via Eclipse Records.

“We can’t forget that this beautiful nation was built by immigrants. That diversity has contributed to the development of this great nation,” states vocalist and frontman Eduardo Gil. “The intent of the proposed Perdue-Cotton Raise Act is to curb the level of legal immigration by proposing a merit-based system that grades immigrants based solely on their skills. When I first moved here from Venezuela, I thought I needed to fit in, lose my accent, and dress like everyone in Los Angeles. After reflection however, I realized that I would have been lying to myself. ‘Not From Here’ was written about overcoming this dilemma which is something all immigrants think about. We don’t need to erase our heritage, or try to fit in. This is a free country and that’s why this nation is great!”

You can also catch Sifting performing live on these upcoming dates:

July 28 – Pomona, CA @ Character’s Sports Bar (w/ Sorrowseed)
September 13 – Los Angeles, CA @ Silverlake Lounge (w/ Obey the Wolves & Shattered Systems)

Apocalyptica To Release New Album, Announces Tour Dates

Apocalyptica has checked in with the following announcement about releasing a new album and upcoming tour dates:

“After the recent feature projects, the upcoming new album is going to be 100% Apocalyptica and a new musical challenge at the same time: the band is working with Franky Perez as exclusive singer on the vocal tracks – this time not only during production, but for the whole cycle including the live shows.

“Perez released his debut in 2003, later teaming up with System of a Down’s Daron Malakian and John Dolmayan as Scars on Broadway. In 2009, Perez was announced on vocals of Slash’s solo band, followed by collaborations with Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver) as well as Scott Shriner (Weezer), Joey Castillo (Queens of The Stone Age) and Dave Warren (The Simpsons) as Pusher Jones.

“After being honored as vocalist for The Doors at the L.A. Sunset Strip Music Festival, he released his latest album ‘Addict’ in 2013.
