OvO Has A Serious “Freakout”

“Freakout,” the latest track off upcoming new OvO album, “Creatura,” has now come online and can be heard below.

A “dirgy ocean of pulsating noise,” this new track is a prime slice of the veteran Italian duo’s raw and dramatic sound – a unique mix of primitive industrial, horror-movie ambience, and noise-rock punishment, led by the theatrically demonic vocals of Stefania Pedretti.

Out next Friday, December 9th, on Dio Drone Records, “Creatura” is OvO’s ninth full-length album. It was recorded by Lorenzo Stecconi (Zu, Ufomammut) at a theater company’s warehouse in Ravenna, Italy, mixed by Giulio Favero, and mastered by Giovanni Versari (Muse).

“Creatura” was recorded by Lorenzo Stecconi (Zu, Ufomammut) at a theater company’s warehouse in Ravenna, Italy; it was mixed by Giulio Favero, and mastered by Giovanni Versari (Muse).

Ufomammut Recording New Album

Italian psychedelic power trio Ufomammut is currently in the process of forging an eighth LP, following the band’s 2015 epic for Neurot Recordings, “Ecate.”

The band is knuckling down at Crono Sound Factory in Vimodrone, just north of Milan, the first time recording with soundlord Ciccio and his comrades of Femore Production. Having spent much of the past year refining exploratory jam sessions to make them fit for an intended purpose, expect more of the band’s dense, organic riffing to emerge in 2017, with teasers on the way soon.

Having just wrapped up a European tour which included dates with Neurosis and fellow countrymen Grime, Ufoammut has its sights set on Australia and New Zealand, and will be traveling there in early October with the masters of doom tone, Monolord. Those dates are followed by further European shows. Catch Ufomammut live:

Ufomammut Announces New Album “Ecate”

“Ecate” is the title worthy of deities and of Ufomammut’s seventh studio full-length, which has been confirmed for North American release March 31st via Neurot Recordings. The label comments:

“The Italian power trio, known for incredibly heavy capabilities and psychedelic prowess, has as many discernible similarities as they do differences to their formative roots. Defying classification of simply a ‘doom act,’ Ufomammut charges their sludgy output with inimitable energy and wayfaring ambition through a tight knit musical understanding which flows telepathically between members, Poia, Urlo, and Vita.

“On their latest album, Ufomammut takes a confident step forward with their craft, orchestrating atmospheric processions that take the six songs on the album to places as-of-yet uncharted, the only guide being that of Ecate (Hecate in English), the three-sided goddess who moves between the realms of the living, the dead, and the gods. Traditionally associated with matters of the liminal, as statues of her can be found at crossroads and city walls, where she would be believed to either bless or curse travelers, she represents the link between the past, the present and the future in a way which resonates true with Ufomammut and with the name of the band, too.”

The track listing is:

1. Somnium
2. Plouton
3. Chaosecret
4. Temple
5. Revelation
6. Daemon

Ufomammut Wrapping Up Work On New Album

Italian power trio Ufomammut is putting the final details on the band’s seventh studio full-length in order for the album to see an early Spring 2015 worldwide release, once again through Neurot Recordings.

While virtually no specific details on the album are yet to be revealed to the public, the album is fully mixed, mastered, and going into production now. The record’s title, release date, and much more will be unveiled at the dawn of 2015, and mass album and tour updates will ensue through the rest of the year.

In October, Ufomammut proudly released “XV” through the band’s own Supernatural Cat label with support from Neurot, a DVD documenting an intense fifteen years together. For nearly two years, Ufomammut has been working on this special video project. A mini-documentary sampled from “XV” is playing below.

Ufomammut Announces 15th Anniversary Live DVD

The Italian sorcerers of supernatural and obliterating doom from Ufomammut have been very busy behind the scenes following the release of their “Oro” collection on Neurot Recordings.

Since 2013, Ufomammut has been working on a video project which will be released on DVD via the band’s Supernatural Cat Records this October. The DVD features over three hours of live footage — including Magickal Mastery Live, a 12 song live act — interviews, outtakes, and extras all documenting first fifteen years of the band. Titled “XV,” this audiovisual experience will also be available as a special wooden 8GB USB drive.

On the subject of reaching this milestone, the band commented: “Oro was a particularly ambitious album for us, and the Magickal Mastery Tour was a great chance to revisit all of our favorite songs in front of really great crowds. When we took some time to reflect on what we had accomplished we knew that the best ways to celebrate our first fifteen years, was a DVD release, something for our fans to contribute towards and to treasure. We’re excited about what the next fifteen years has in store…”

The “Magickal Mastery Live” running order is:

Eve (Pt. III & IV)

In addition to this DVD release, Ufomammut has confirmed the band will be heading into the studio to record a seventh studio collection this September. The new album should see the light of day in Spring 2015 via Neurot Recordings.

This marks the last tour we shall do for a period, whilst we concentrate on writing a new album.”

Zolle Streaming New Song “Heavy Letam”

Supernatural Cat — the Italian underground label run by Malleus Rock Art Lab, the artist collective featuring two members of the psychedelic doom trio Ufomammut — will harvest Zole’s self-titled debut LP worldwide on May 13th.

With song titles entrenched in references to redneck living, the newest Zolle single “Heavy Letam” is suggestive of “Letame” — which means manure in Italian — resulting in “a shitty anagram about heavy metal.”

Take a whiff of the riffs of “Heavy Letam,” alongside the previously dispatched “Trakthor,” now via Invisible Oranges or the player below.

Pre-orders from the hand-screened limited LP/CD edition of “Zoll”e can be placed now at this location.
