Dawn Of Tyrants Releases New EP “Breeding Ruin”

Negative-thinking, tyrannical Canadian black / death metal trio Dawn of Tyrants debuts this week with the “Breeding Ruin” EP, the first misanthropic salvo of the band’s signature iron-fisted formula.

“Breeding Ruin” spews five tracks of secular blackened death metal, incorporating a wide range of styles and themes. Comprised of stalwarts of the Toronto metal scene who have spent time in acts such as Overthrow, H5N1, Catharsis, and Priest, the band is forging the way through darker paths to a future most bleak. Expect no compromise!

Of Tyrants Posts “Blindfolds For A Blindman” Guitar Playthrough

Virginia Beach’s deathcore masters, Of Tyrants, has announced a new endorsement with EMG Pick-Ups. Guitarist Kenny Wicker and Stephen Lally are beyond excited to be working with one of their favorite guitar accessory companies. This endorsement comes not long after their previous sponsorship with ESP Guitars.

“Playing a guitar without EMG Pick-Ups is like driving a car without wheels” says Lally. In correspondence with this new sponsorship, Of Tyrants has released a playthrough video recorded at Flagship Studios for the song “Blindfolds For A Blindman.”

The track is taken from Of Tyrants’ initial EP release “These Days Are Deadly” and the playthrough video is available below.

Currently the quintet is preparing to enter Whiteout Sound Studios to record a debut full-length album. To help prepare for the new record and the vast plans the band has set forth, a crowd funding campaign is now online here.

We are very pleased with the album that is the product of 4 months of being locked up in the studio and offering our very last drop of sweat and blood for it to become the most massive RAM production ever. RAM present brand new video clip for “I Am The End”!

– July 15th, 2013 –

10th anniversary show in Gothenburg announced!

Swedish heavy metal act RAM have just recently shot a video for the song “I Am The End” from their latest release, “Death.” Metal Blade Records has partnered with Revolver Magazine to premiere the video in North America. Click HERE to watch the new video now at revolvermag.com!

“I Am The End” was directed by Martin Högdal, edited by Leonard Palmestål and written by Oscar Carlquist – the same team that worked on the “Flame Of The Tyrants” video. The song was written by Harry Granroth and Oscar Carlquist.

Oscar Carlquist comments on the video: “The ‘I Am The End’ video shows a completely different side of the cinematic vision of RAM than what we created in the ‘Flame Of The Tyrants’ video. This video displays a lot of esoteric aspects, and has many layers of symbolism that will not be seen at once. We thank everybody involved for their outstanding dedication to making flesh out of our disturbed visions.”

Fans can order “Death” and watch the video for “Flames Of The Tyrants” at metalblade.com/ram.

In other news Daniel Johansson – guitarist and one of the founding members – has decided to leave the band. The departure was amicable and a replacement for Daniel has already been found. RAM are very happy and proud to welcome former RAM session guitarist Martin Jonsson as a fulltime member.

2013 marks the 10 year anniversary since RAM released their first release: the Sudden Impact EP. This will be celebrated on Friday, the 13th of September. A concert has been booked in Gothenburg at the venue Sticky Fingers (Top Floor). The show will also feature special guests PORTRAIT and TRIAL. RAM‘s performance will be filmed.

The Sudden Impact EP will be rereleased on vinyl only and in a strictly limited edition of 500 copies through Gothenburg based label Lake Of Fire productions. The EP will be released at the 10th anniversary concert.

RAM live shows:
19/07/13 FI – Lieto – Hammer Open Air
13/09/13 SE – Gothenburg – 10th Anniversary Show
19/10/13 NL – Amstelveen – Heavy Metal Maniacs Festival

“It’s an “imagine Ozzy and George Lynch joined Exodus” pastiche” Decibel Magazine

“Despite their Swedish origin, RAM bubbles over with the kind of British riffing and toe-tapping gallop pacing that so is so inseparable from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.” BloodyGoodHorror.com

“as muscular and dynamic as it is epic and catchy” Kerrang Magazine

“The album shines for its riffs. Songs like “Comes from the Mouth Beyond” and “Release me” feature a flawless lead guitar; although it’s definitely classic heavy metal, it’s played in a much more aggressive manner, making it something akin to Saxon on a cocaine binge.” MetalSucks.net
