New Material In The Works From Cold Raven

Melodic obscure black metal act Cold Raven is currently writing new material for the sophomore studio release. The band’s debut effort “Equilibrium And Chaos” was released in March 2015. The new album will represent an evolution in the band’s songwriting, though confirming the style shown in the previous work.

In the meanwhile Cold Raven will be playing some live shows supporting important acts.

Guitarist Vuall commented: “We think live shows are the true essence of Cold Raven, and this is why we won’t stop playing live while writing new songs. It’s not an easy task but we feel it’s the right thing to do.”

More news is expected soon.

Deitus Releasing Debut Album “Acta Non Verba”

Embodying the true sinister essence of black metal, U.K. three-piece Deitus is due to release debut offering “Acta Non Verba” on April 22nd via Ulthar Records. The label comments:

“Casting away ties to the flesh and ego. Liberation through self-abuse and depravity. Terror towards mankind. Deitus provide five tracks of genuine diabolical black metal with transcendental intent. This is maniacal vitriol for fans of MGLA and Dissection.”

The band says: “‘Acta Non Verba’ is the knife in the back of man and represents a path of utter devotion. It is a monument to the murder of the ego; an odious hymn to liberation. Rejection. Depravity. Sacred Art.”

Negation Streaming Full “Packin’ Hate” Album

The full “Packin’ Hate” album from Canadian metal outfit Negation is now streaming online, and can be heard below. The following press release was also issued about the group:

“Negation takes their music to an aggressive, soul-grinding, and explosive level. They are ready to tear you apart limb from limb with a vortex of extreme metal.

“The path of Negation is that of absolute imageless transcendence. The rejection of a reality characterized by self-regarding emotions. To negate the subjectivity of oneself is to see things clearly, as they truly are. Empty, free of form. Though through emptiness, all things find their true form. Pure. Free of all human defilement.”

Atriarch Reveals New Album “An Unending Pathway”

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Atriarch is a mesmerizing death/doom metal force encompassing haunting atmospheres and droning avalanches of ritualistic sludge.

After two records on Seventh Rule and Profound Lore, Atriarch make the band’s Relapse debut with “An Unending Pathway.” Relapse Records comments:

“Fusing death rock, doom, black metal, punk and psychedelic drone/noise, Atriarch immediately establish themselves as one of the most creative and compelling heavy music bands of the twenty-first century. Imagine Bauhaus as covered by Eyehategod, or Sisters of Mercy filtered through Neurosis, and you begin to get the picture of what Atriarch has achieved.

“Recorded at Type Foundry in Portland, Oregon, produced by Billy Anderson (Sleep, Eyehategod, Melvins et al) and the band, engine-eared and mixed by Anderson at Everything Hz, also in Portland, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, Beastmilk, Nails) at Audiosiege, An Unending Pathway offers up seven cataclysmic soundscapes to your deepest darkest nightmares.

“Once every few years a band comes along that takes the familiar and creates something wholly new. Atriarch has done just that with An Unending Pathway.”

“Our aim is to tear a hole in the veil that blinds us from our true selves,” relays the band, “We are bombarded with ideals of a superficial shallow lifestyle, that we are enslaved to maintain. This veil has become so powerful and overwhelming that we ignore our spirits to worship our shells, as money stokes the fires that burns our immortal souls. Greed corruption fear and hate is the true face of this Self Serving way of life that we have come to call ‘normal.’ While we believe in opening our minds and expanding our spirits we cannot forget our ability to fight. The spiritual battle for freedom of mind and body can be fought on all levels and violence is in our nature. There is no god there is no devil there is an All Encompassing force that connects all living things. Embrace the ritual and the veil will come crashing down…”

The “An Unending Pathway” album will be released via Relapse Records on October 28th, 2014 and the track listing is as follows:

1. Entropy
2. Collapse
3. Revenant
4. Bereavement
5. Rot
6. Allfather
7. Veil
