High On Fire Pulls Out Of Speed Of The Wizard Tour With Municipal Waste

High On Fire has announced that they have had to pull out of the Speed Of The Wizard tour, alongside Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust and Haunt.

The band has provided a statement: “(Guitarist, vocalist) Matt (Pike) has a medical emergency culminating in the partial amputation of one of his toes. The scheduling of this procedure is immediate and the recovery time will overlap our intended tour with MW. We will unfortunately be unable to participate in this tour but will be back stronger than ever in 2019!”

The tour itself will continue on without High on Fire as scheduled. Municipal Waste has provided a statement: “First and foremost we wish our friend Matt the best of luck with his recovery. We need him, the metal world in general needs him. We would much rather have him miss a tour to heal up rather than not having any more Matt Pike music in the future. High On Fire‘s new album is amazing and we love him and his band mates so much. That being said after much discussion us Toxic and Haunt are still going to do the tour. It just makes sense, why make something negative worse? Get better Matt we love you.”

Earlier this month, High On Fire frontman Matt Pike was interviewed by Metal Underground, where he discussed the band’s new album, “Electric Messiah,” Lemmy and more. You can check it out below.

GWAR releases video for “Viking Death Machine”

– October 4th, 2018 –

Kicks off North American tour this Saturday

Human Scum! It is now that time of year and your Lords and Masters GWAR will soon awaken from their Antarctic slumber to devastate North America once again. The “Gore, Core, Metal and More” tour will be co-headlined by GWAR, and the mighty Hatebreed! This rolling heavy metal nightmare kicks off October 7th, following an appearance from GWAR at the Rock Allegiance Festival in Camden, NJ on October 6th. A complete list of all dates can be found below.

Before the tour begins, GWAR is pleased as a bowl of bloody punch to share with you the new video for their epic song “Viking Death Machine,” taken from their latest opus, 2017′s The Blood of Gods, a masterpiece of obscenity chronicling the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that is uptight and wrong with the world. The video was created by Makinita Silva, an Ecuadorian masked Luchador who is also an independent 2-D animator.

Watch the video here: youtube.com/watch?v=akFp2mV8Lf0

Of the video, Blothar has the following to say: “Humans, are you ready to ride the ‘Viking Death Machine’? Our latest video is a faithful animated schlockumentary depicting my harrowing, blood-drenched defeat of the Load Warriors and the other denizens of Saturday morning raceway hijinks, including all of my fellow bandmates in GWAR. I am delighted to take my rightful place as the King of Cartoon Violence, and champion of the first annual Suck-It-Up-Butter Cup! Watch the video now! It’ll make you shit.”

Hard rock legend Dee Snider had released an official lyric video for the new track “I Am The Hurricane” off his upcoming album For The Love Of Metal. Watch below.

For The Love Of Metal will be released on July 27th via Napalm Records. The album was produced by Hatebreed vocalist Jamey Jasta and features contributions from Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage), Mark Morton (Lamb Of God), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Joel Grind and Nick Bellmore (Toxic Holocaust) and Charlie Bellmore (Kingdom Of Sorrow).

Dee Snider on the release: “I am beyond excited to be working with one of the world’s leading labels for heavy music, it’s a perfect home for this album! I believe there’s something for every hard rock and metal fan on this record and I cannot wait to unleash it on the world July 27th!”

Jamey Jasta comments:
“I’m so happy and proud to have been a part of this project, Dee Snider is an American original, there is no other voice like his on earth, his power and passion really shine through on this album. Metal brings us all together and with Dee still at the forefront, it’s a great time to be a fan of heavy music!”

Howard Jones states:
“To be given the chance to write for AND sing with Dee Snider, one of the men responsible for shaping heavy music as it is today, is an absolute honor. The voice, the mind, the swagger…the man is one of a kind.”

Alissa White-Gluz comments:
“I am honored and humbled to sing alongside such a truly unique and talented soul. I love that Dee Snider has continued to shock people for decades just by being himself. I can’t wait for everyone to hear our duet! It was no easy task matching up to Dee’s level of vocal prowess but I was happy to accept the challenge and I’m in love with the results!”

Dee Snider (ex-Twisted Sister) Premieres New Track “Tomorrow’s No Concern”

A music video for the new Dee Snider (ex-Twisted Sister) single “Tomorrow’s No Concern” is streaming below. It’s from Snider’s new effort “For The Love Of Metal“, which was helmed by Hatebreed/Jasta, etc. vocalist Jamey Jasta and features guest spots from Lamb Of God‘s Mark Morton, Howard Jones (Light The Torch, ex-Killswitch Engage, etc.), Arch Enemy‘s Alissa White-Gluz, Joel Grind and Nick Bellmore of Toxic Holocaust and Kingdom Of Sorrow‘s Charlie Bellmore.

Says Snider of this new track:

“‘Tomorrow’s No Concern‘ is the perfect first single off of my new album ‘For The Love Of Metal‘. Lyrically it’s about me living for today, not in the past. So many people waste their lives away remembering the “glory days”. While I am proud of all that I’ve done, I’m more interested and excited about what is happening now. In the song I urge the listener to do the same; live in the moment and don’t let the past – good, bad or indifferent – or what might or might not happen in the future ever slow you down!”

A July 27th release date has been set for the album and pre-orders for it are live now at this location. In other news, Snider has told Billboard.com that he recently sold an animated children’s show to Netflix. He wasn’t too forthcoming with the details, but did promise it will have “good music.”
