Details Of New Album “Terraforming” Posted By Jupiterian

Brazilian act Jupiterian has reemerged with its unique brand of atmospheric sludge/doom metal. The new album “Terraforming” is set for release on November 15th via Transcending Obscurity Records. A preview clip for the album is available at the bottom.

“Terraforming” was recorded at Duna Studios and was mixed by Maurice de Jong (Gnaw Their Tongues) and mastered by Stephen Lockheart (Svartidaudi, Tchornobog, Zhrine). The album artwork was painted by Caue Piloto.

Haunting both musically and aesthetically, Jupiterian delves into subtler, more visceral sounds while retaining their crushing style. Like the dichotomy in the band’s home country, the music too encompasses the stark contrast between the intense and atmospheric bits, sometimes transmuting into a dark ambient form aided by Maurice de Jong of Gnaw Their Tongues. The die has been cast!

The track listing is:

1. Matriarch
2. Unearthly Glow
3. Forefathers
4. Terraforming (Feat. Maurice de Jong)
5. Us and Them
6. Sol

Date For Sophomore LP “The Murky Black Of Eternal Night” Set By Pyriphlegethon

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions set April 14th as the international release date for Pyriphlegethon’s highly anticipated second album, “The Murky Black of Eternal Night,” on vinyl LP format.

At the end of 2015, Iron Bonehead released this Dutch cult’s debut album, “Night of Consecration,” on vinyl and largely introduced the name Pyriphlegethon to the international underground. However, a new name it might’ve been, but Pyriphlegethon was actually yet another project of the insanely prolific Mories, who’s widely known for Gnaw Their Tongues but also such projects as De Magia Veterum and Cloak of Altering. With “Night of Consecration,” this was Mories at this most traditionally black metal, and it indeed bore his special, idiosyncratic touch.

But, with “The Murky Black of Eternal Night,” Mories takes Pyriphlegethon into deeper, darker waters of spellbinding, pitch-BLACK metal. Ever aptly titled, “The Murky Black of Eternal Night” is a a spiritual and even virtual quagmire of eldritch energies, spectral and distant but equally physical in its thrust. Whereas the comparatively more martial “Night of Consecration” emitted a strangely anthemic aspect, tethered as it was to first-wave black metal, “The Murky Black of Eternal Night” wanders down different corridors, opening up unknown spaces within the still-scabrously raw Pyriphlegethon aesthetic and layering mystical synths atop more often than not.

Likewise, at a slightly longer length than its full-length predecessor, this second album in its similarly 10-track structure portrays a more varied songcraft, ranging bestial blasts to strangely soothing soundscapes. The sum effect is not unlike a fever dream guided by the most subtle of magick – and a deeper penetration into the listener’s subconscious. Plunge into “The Murky Black of Eternal Night”!

Take the first plunge with the track “The Serpent’s Tongue” in the player below. The artwork and track listing are as follows:

1. Curse Of The Old Coffin
2. Monument Of Death
3. Funeral Bells
4. The Serpent’s Tongue
5. Summoning Ancient Evil
6. Return To The Tomb
7. The Murky Black Of Eternal Night
8. Cursed Blood
9. The Coldest Grave
10. Night On The Black Mountain

New Album “Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent” Detailed By Gnaw Their Tongues

Just over a year since the Abyss Of Longing Throats full-length was released, Dutch experimental/black metal act Gnaw Their Tongues — the work of frontman and demon channeler Maurice “Mories” De Jong, also of Aderlating, Cloak Of Altering, De Magia Veterum, among others — has declared December 9th for release of the band’s latest LP, “Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent” via Consouling Sounds. Pre-orders can be made at this location. Check out the new song “Hold High The Banners Of Truth Among The Swollen Dead” in the player below.

“Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent” shows Gnaw Their Tongues at the top of it’s game. The band started out as a studio project, but has recently started performing live, and it feels like this carefully found its way into the music. Yet, “oppressive,” “bleak,” and “claustrophobic” remain the key words when describing the unique output of this drone/noise/black metal infused miscreant of De Jong. The music grabs you by the throat and sucks all the air out of the room. Although it leaves little more than an anaerobe environment, the music itself feels likes it has been breathing and organically growing into this true beast of an album. Fully performed and recorded by Mories at the Bejaarde II, Drachten, the artist also mixing and mastering the album, Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent also features guest vocals on “Our Mouths Ridden With Worms” by Hekte Zaren.

The track listing for the album is as follows:

1. Hold High The Banners Of Truth Among The Swollen Dead
2. The Speared Promises
3. Frail As The Stalking Lions
4. Your Kingdom Shrouded In Blood
5. Silent Burned Atrocities
6. Hymn For The Broken, Swollen And Silent
7. I Have Clad The Pillar In The Flayed Skins
8. Our Mouths Ridden With Worms

Aevangelist Releasing New Album “Enthrall To The Void Of Bliss”

20 Buck Spin welcomes the writhing black/death torment of American act Aevangelist to the label’s register, and announces plans of issuing the band’s incoming fourth full-length, “Enthrall To The Void Of Bliss.” 20 Buck Spin comments:

“The fourth gate of the Aevangelist has opened within the physical dimension; witness cataclysmic black/death metal force in which slithering arcane horrors conjoined with bizarre mysticism spawn a suffocating cacophonous sprawl. Having unleashed previous (and future) documentation via the French Debemur Morti label, ‘Enthrall To The Void Of Bliss’ represents the initial Aevangelist transmutation for 20 Buck Spin, the American based band’s first scripture to be fully released domestically in the United States.

“Cycling through recent years, Aevangelist has mercilessly assaulted listeners via auditory deformation and twisting sepulchral composition, its members having also performed within the ranks of legendary dark metal weirdos Bethlehem and others. 2013’s ‘Omen Ex Simulacra’ brutalized with punishingly dense yet accessible riffs in the Murk — the album earning critical acclaim including a place in Decibel’s Magazine’s Top 40 of 2013 — and this specter looms large on ‘Enthrall To The Void Of Bliss,’ whilst layer upon layer of ghoulish keys and madness-stricken vocals act as flesh bricks to shape a hellish tower of the damned. Smeared with a warm, wet production, the inherent chaos of Enthrall… becomes omnipresent.

“The curtain has been pulled back to reveal the grotesquery summoned by the Aevangelist synod and once stirred cannot easily be shut again. 20 Buck Spin is pleased to bequeath this vulgar contortion of occult rancor upon the human race. Virulently presented on multiple formats, with artwork crafted by Stephen Wilson/Unknown Relic (Sutekh Hexen, Godmaker, Demonic Possessor), ‘Enthrall To The Void Of Bliss’ will see initial CD and digital release in North America on October 9th and in Europe on the 23rd, with the vinyl edition to see release by early December.

“The album is one of dire importance for devotees to the tormented ways of Portal, Xasthur, Gnaw Their Tongues, Witchrist, Wolvserpent, Bethlehem, Thorns and the like to stay informed about.”

The “Enthrall To The Void Of Bliss” track listing is:

1. Arcanæ Manifestia
2. Cloister Of The Temple Of Death
3. Gatekeeper’s Scroll
4. Alchemy
5. Levitating Stones
6. Emanation
7. Meditation Of Transcendental Evil
