Doro Posts New Video, “If I Can’t Have You – Nobody Will” Online With Amon Amarth Singer Johan Hegg

In only three weeks time the undisputed metal queen Doro will release her 2 CD studio album, “Forever Warriors, Forever United.” Her new offering boasts 25 brand new tracks and today, she releases the masterpiece “If I Can’t Have You – Nobody Will.”

The latest Doro single is a duet that combines passion and melody with brutal harshness. Passion is provided by the blonde rock goddess herself – while the harshness comes from none other than Amon Amarth singer Johan Hegg. Doro says: “The work with Johan, who also contributed to the lyrics, was stunning. We got to know each other during the recording of the Amon Amarth album Jomsviking and it is wonderful that this great collaboration could be continued on my album.”

Doro continues: “The video for the song perfectly reflects this obsessive song. We filmed in various ruins with our great director David Havlena. It has become very special, almost like a little movie. I can not wait to introduce the song on August 3rd at Wacken Open Air where the song will celebrate its live premiere with special guest Johan Hegg!”

Century Media To Re-Issue Dawn Discography

Century Media Records has signed a worldwide deal to license the entire discography of Sweden’s Dawn. The label comments:

“Formed in 1990, Dawn quickly evolved from the pure death metal found on their first demos into a more complex, melodic, epic and atmospheric style that culminated in the masterpiece,
‘Slaughtersun – Crown Of The Triarchy’ (1998).

“Along with Dissection, Unanimated, and Eucharist, Dawn is considered to be one of the most underrated acts that merged death and black metal during the mid 90’s.

“In the first half of 2014, the band’s catalog will finally be made available again on CD and–for the first time ever–on vinyl. Carefully re-mastered by Dan Swanö, these re-issues feature re-worked artwork and more (all done in full cooperation with the band).

“The planned Dawn releases are:

– Demos 1991-1993 (title TBA) on CD/LP
– Nær Sólen Gar Niþer For Evogher (originally released in 1994) on CD/LP
– Sorgh På Svarte Vingar Fløgh (originally released in 1996) on MCD/MLP
– Slaughtersun – Crown Of The Triarchy (originally released in 1998) on CD/2LP

“Stay tuned for more news about these definitive editions of classic Swedish blackened death metal coming soon!”

Hellige Releasing Debut Self-Titled Album

Metalhit.com/Metal Maniacs are pleased to present the official debut CD of Argentina’s experimental black/doom duo Hellige. Metalhit.com comments:

“While the black/doom scenes continue to churn out redundant albums at a consistent pace, two obscure Argentinians are composing the masterpiece of Hellige’s debut self-titled album…

“Indulging this album is like entering a sacred space that has not yet been traveled. The sound is torturous and avantgarde, yet coherent enough to keep you peaking around the next corner for a musical-spiritual experience. Utterly dark, oppressive and melancholic. For fans of old Septic Flesh meets Ved Buens Ende.

“Hellige’s debut is presented as a fine digipak CD and is now available for pre-order. CD and Digital versions of the album will be available worldwide in mid-January 2013.”

Atriarch Finishes New Album "Ritual Of Passing"

Portland, Oregon Atrirach has completed work on a new full-length album titled “Ritual Of Passing,” which is set for release on October 30th, 2012. Profound Lore Records comments:

“Following up the acclaimed ‘Forever The End’ debut from last year, Atriarch would slowly develop a strong distinct identity through an amalgamation of deathrock, classic ‘80s goth, doom and black metal respectively. An intriguing mix which would mirror the powerful aesthetic and vibe brought forth from such bands as Bauhaus, Joy Division, The Cure, Christian Death, The Gault, and Asunder.

“Through several years of trial, as the band would gradually develop and define their sound, ‘Ritual Of Passing’ (which also features a guest appearance by Jessica Way of Worm Ouroboros on the closing track) is the becoming result of this chaos-embracing culmination, the masterpiece the band have been threatening to create since their inception in 2009.

“A harrowing, religious sonic offering drenched and drowning in wall-of-sound-like atmosphere commanded by the sermon-like vocals of Lenny Smith. Bleak, haunting, oppressive, and violent ‘Ritual Of Passing’ will serve as one of the most intriguing and commanding albums of the year.”

The album’s track listing is:

1. Parasite
2. Prayer
3. Altars
4. Altruist
5. Offerings
6. Cursed
7. Outro (Lucifer speaks with Death)

Vengeful Posts New Album Progress Update

Canada’s Vengeful has checked in with the following update about the band’s upcoming album:

“Greetings! Time to let the outside in on what’s been happening in our world…..

“We’ve just started mixing our new album for which we actually have a title but we’ll save it for another post. Hugues Deslauriers (Augury) is now back on board to assure that this offering is as in-your-face as can be. We would also like to take this opportunity to announce the return of Olivier Pinard (Neuraxis) in our ranks. Is presence was definately missing during is time apart from Vengeful.

“There has been a few hickups with the painting that will become the album’s cover but our long time illustrator Martin Lacroix is putting the finishing touches to the masterpiece in his vast body of work to this date. Needless to say everything is looking pretty fuckin’ sick. The album should be released at the end of November/begining of December. An official date will follow.

“Death keeps on striking hard lately.”
