Ministry Frontman Al Jourgensen Makes 2018 Predictions

Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen has been featured in a new video, wherein he makes predictions for the new year. For 2018, Jourgensen forecasts giant political upheaval and geopolitical stress which has been set up in 2017 by the “orange shitgibbon” himself. According to Jourgensen, 2016 and 2017 were similar to having a puss-filled boil or pimple on the country. “We have to get 2017 and 2016 off of us,” he states, “and 2018 is going to be the popping of the pimple. It’s going to be a rough year, but it’s going to be a necessary year for the progression of the human race.

“The majority should rule the democracy and right now, the majority does not rule.”

Also happening in 2018 will be Ministry’s new album, “AmeriKKKant,” the psychedelic, politically influenced album rooted in Jourgensen’s unadulterated anger for what’s happening in America today. (March 9, Nuclear Blast Records.)

Aaron Matts From Betraying The Martyrs Discusses Brexit In Video Interview

Aaron Matts from Betraying The Martyrs has released a new video discussing Brexit, which can be seen below. The band comments:

“We’re living in divisive times, in a time where we should be celebrating nothing but diversity; the so called ‘liberation’ of England from the EU has been voted for by the majority and therefore should be celebrated, but without a single ounce of satisfaction to those who voted out with misconceived racial and anti humanitarian agendas. Share love, share music.”

New album “The Resilient” dropped back in January via Sumerian Records and is available at this location.

Kaira Posts 2016 Documentary Clip

Russian pagan folk metal band Kaira released a documentary covering the band’s exploits during 2016. The 47 minute clip features footage of the group onstage as well as some backstage antics and making-of segments.

Sliptrick Records comments: “Although the interviews are in Russian, the majority of the piece concentrates on the visual side of things and is well worth watching to get a good look at Kaira’s unique approach and vision. Much of the music in the documentary is taken from the album ‘Roots Of Veles’ released worldwide on Sliptrick Records late last year.”

Carrier Flux Recording New Album

U.S. avant-garde black metal outfit Carrier Flux has a new studio release in the works, and now the band is giving a look at what’s happening on the studio side at Facebook here. The first update reads:

“Carrier Flux is hard at work on the next album. I’ll be giving a virtual tour of the studio that’s been built up over the past 20+ years. Some of the equipment is home-made, most of it mass-production.

“All of it was carefully selected and deliberately integrated to form a dark atmospheric soundscape. Today’s photo is the majority of the studio as a whole. Later I’ll go into details about the individual components.”

New Album Expected From Powerwolf In 2015

German power metal werewolves Powerwolf revealed that the majority of the songwriting for the follow up to “Preachers of the Night” (see review here) has been completed and will be released in 2015.

Guitarist/songwriter/producer Matthew Greywolf posted the following update: “During the past six months we have been secretly busy writing songs for the follow up album to ‘Preachers of the night.’ By now, the major part of the songwriting is finished and we’re right now preparing for the studio work. The recordings will begin in early January and will keep us busy until March. The release is scheduled for summer 2015.

“So, what can you expect? Without revealing too much at this early stage, you can expect an album that’s 100% uncompromising POWERWOLF-stuff.

“There’s songs to go wild to, there’s epic and atmospheric stuff – and a lot of wolfish metal madness in between – and quite a bunch of songs that will be must-plays on any future POWERWOLF liveshow for damn sure. We can’t wait to get this album shaped! We’ll keep you posted!”

Stay tuned…2015 promises to include werewolves.

Autumns Eyes Posts Acoustic Guitar Tracking Video For New EP

Autumns Eyes is currently working on a new EP to follow the previous full-length album “Please Deceive Me” (reviewed here).

A video shot during the acoustic guitar recording sessions for the release has been posted online and can be viewed below. Autumns Eyes also comments:

“The upcoming EP from solo metal band Autumns Eyes features a fair amount of acoustic guitars, and here we get to see a sneak peek of an overdubbing session for the new album.

“For all you gear heads out there, the acoustics for this album were recorded in a somewhat non-traditional fashion utilizing a Shure SM57 microphone, rather than the standard condenser microphones used on the majority of acoustic recordings.”
