New Album Details, New Single Released By Evertale

German power metal act Evertale announced that the sophomore album will be entitled “The Great Brotherwar.” The album drops on October 27th via NoiseArt Records. In addition, the band issued the new single “Empire Rising” in the form of a lyric video, which you can check out in the player below.

“The Great Brotherwar” is the follow up to the 2014 debut “Of Dragons and Elves” (see review here). The cover art, created by the legendary Andreas Marschall (Rage, Running Wild, Blind Guardian, etc.), and track listing can be found here:

Atriarch Posts “Repent” Music Video

Nighon Releases New Album “The Somme”

Finnish symphonic industrial metal band Nighon today releases second full-length album “The Somme” via Inverse Records. You can stream the full release via the Spotify player available below.

“This is absolutely our most ambitious work thus far and a giant leap forward,” says guitarist and composer Björn Johansson of the album.

“The Somme” is a concept record with stories from World War I and II, and the similarities between those times and the crises we see today in our modern world. The album was recorded at Soundspiral Audio by Juho Räihä and Nighon’s studio Regiment XIII.

Mixing and mastering were handled by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at the legendary Studio Fredman in Gothenburg.

Devilment Releases “Hitchcock Blonde” Music Video

Devilment’s new album “Devilment II: The Mephisto Waltzes” is coming on November 18th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment and today the band releases a first official music video for “Hitchcock Blonde.”

The video was directed by Sam Scott Hunter with a skeleton crew of academic students, with thanks to Film Suffolk. It features actress Leanne Joyce as the Hitchcock Blonde, who has appeared on Britain’s Next Top Model, Call The Midwife and The Royals to name a few.

Dani Filht comments: “This is all about the legendary film director Alfred Hitchcock’s infatuation with his on-screen heroines; cool, controlled, aloof and sophisticated blondes. The song even name-checks ten of his favourite actresses.

Wrust Returning From Hiatus

Botswana-based metal group Wrust has now returned from hiatus and is gearing up for new shows. The band issued this statement:

“Hello and welcome back everyone, it’s my pleasure to announce the return of Wrust. Well Wrust hasn’t performed in a very long while and most people around has been worried by the lack of wrust in the scene. We are fine don’t worry, we have been on unofficial break.

“I would like to take this moment to thank all the bands that did all the hard work to keep the scene active, all the fans for their loyal support and everyone else that participated in building up and strengthening the metal family.

“There has been some activities going on this year, Vision 2016 celebrations, Botswana’s 50th independence Anniversary and Wrust s also celebrating 16 years of Brutality and Chaos!!! Killing The Messenger Announces New Tour Dates

San Diego based hardcore band Killing The Messenger will join Rest, Repose along with Shugga Shugga Blast Blast on the upcoming Sleep City tour across the West Coast. The tour will begin on July 15th at the legendary Studio 7 in Seattle, WA.

Killing The Messenger also recently signed with David Ellefson’s EMP Label Group and will release debut full-length “Fuel To The Fire” on July 22nd. Check out new song “Falling (Save Me)” below, and you can also catch the band live:

Gruesome Posts “Raped By Darkness” Drum Playthrough

A new drum playthrough video by Gus Rios of old school death metal merchants Gruesome has just come online. The video sees Rios tearing through the track “Raped By Darkness” from the band’s savage “Dimensions Of Horror” EP, which is out now on Relapse Records.

If you haven’t heard it yet, the entire release is still online for streaming at this location. Produced by the band and co-produced and recorded by Jarrett Pritchard at New Constellation RMP Studios in Orlando, Florida, “Dimensions Of Horror” is a grisly salute to Death’s iconic “Scream Bloody Gore” and once again features cover art by the legendary Ed Repka (Death, Atheist, Massacre et al).

Details Of Debut Album “Agents Of Mystification” Available From Assassin’s Blade

Ex-Exciter vocalist Jacques Bélanger has been dormant since his departure from the band in 2006. His defining vocal style resurrected the legendary Exciter on 1997’s “The Dark Command,” 2000’s “Blood of Tyrants” and 2004’s “New Testament.” Now, Bélanger returns with a new band named Assassin’s Blade. The debut album “Agents Of Mystification” is set to drop via Pure Steel Records on April 29th.

Joining Bélanger is an all Swedish band featuring guitarist David Stranderud (ex-Portrait), Cult of the Fox/Void Moon bassist Peter Svensson and Void Moon drummer Marcus Rosenkvist.
