Kissing Candice Debut Cover Of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”

Kissing Candice debut their take on the title track to Michael Jackson‘s 33x multi-platinum album, “Thriller“. Next month will see the group embark on the inaugural ‘Summer Of Screams Tour‘ with Mushroomhead, Powerman 5000 and more.

Kissing Candice say of the cover:

“We are all big MJ fans! We were watching the video for Thriller and it just clicked. The aesthetic and lyrical content of the song fit us perfectly so we decided to hit the studio with Zach Jones and put our own spin on it.”

Mountaineer Releasing Debut 7″ At Upcoming Live Shows

California-based Mountaineer, a newly-found act with the roots of its members tracing to Secrets Of The Sky, Lycus, and Lament Cityscape, will release a debut two-song 7” leading off with “Coma Fever” and seeing “Siren Song” on the B-side.

Both tracks are culled from the band’s impending LP, which will see release sometime in the future, yet are being released together early on a special, limited edition 7” through Battleground Records.

The EP will be pressed on a picture disc lathe cut, limited to 55 copies and released August 4th exclusively for the band’s upcoming debut live performances. Catch the inaugural Mountaineer shows:

Excerpt Posted From New Version Of “Choosing Death”

Coinciding with today’s release of “Choosing Death,” author Albert Mudrian has posted an extensive excerpt from the book. Give it a read at Decibel Magazine’s website here.

Originally released on Feral House in 2004, “Choosing Death: The Improbable History of Death Metal and Grindcore” comes now in an expanded and revised edition, which flaunts a whopping 100 additional pages of new content.

This fully redesigned hardcover version is the inaugural release of brand-new imprint Decibel Books, and is limited to 3,000 hand-numbered copies. It boasts three new chapters (with new material interspersed among the original 10 chapters), over 50 new interviews (for a total of 200) and a new cover painting by legendary death metal artist Dan Seagrave, recalling elements of his classic Entombed and Morbid Angel album covers.

Thy Will Be Done Streaming New Song "The Great Rebuilding"

Heavy metal dark horse Thy Will Be Done will be releasing a new 6-song EP entitled “Temple” on September 25th. The EP was produced and engineered by Thy Will Be Done, mixed by metal producer Zeuzz (Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, Soulfly) at Planet Z, and is the inaugural release on the band’s own Eye.On Lion Recordings with INgrooves Fontana handling world-wide distribution.

Today Absolute Punk has premiered a new song from “Temple.” The track “The Great Rebuilding”

Barge To Hell Adds Behemoth and Napalm Death

The latest bands to be confirmed for the inaugural Barge To Hell heavy metal cruise are Behemoth and Napalm Death, the latter of whom will perform twice during the cruise.

Barge To Hell is a five-day cruise from the organizers of the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise. It departs from Miami, Florida on Monday, December 3rd and stops at Nassau, Bahamas before returning to Miami on Friday, December 7th. Booking for the cruise has opened to the general public, so book yours today.
