Hyborian Releases “As Above, So Below” Video

Kansas City group Hyborian burst into the world of heavy metal last month with the release of the groovy, retro stoner metal-esque singles “Maelstrom” and “Dead Lies Dreaming,” cut from upcoming debut album “Hyborian: Volume I,” which is hitting stores on March 17th, 2017 via The Company.

Wasting no time in keeping new fans stocked with tasty jams, Hyborian is today revealing a brand new music video for new track “As Above, So Below,” This video is the first to be released from “Hyborian: Volume I” and was directed by Alec Nicholas.

The title and chorus of “As Above, So Below” reference a quote from the fundamental Hermetic-movement text, The Emerald Tablet, as dissected by famed English occultist, magician, poet and novelist Aleister Crowley.

Frontman and guitarist Martin Bush says, “The song is about how time is cyclical and nothing really matters in the big scheme of things. The title/hook is a Crowley quote, and we feel like it’s a pretty good intro to the band, our concept, and our sound. This track hits hard, and as the first track, sets up the stories we tell throughout the rest of the record.”

1. As Above, So Below
2. Maelstrom
3. Blood for Blood
4. Dead Lies Dreaming
5. Ajna
6. Dross

Misteyes Signs With Maple Metal Records To Release “Creeping Time”

Hailing from Turin, Italy the light and dark metal band Misteyes has signed a worldwide deal with Canadian label Maple Metal Records to release debut album “Creeping Time” on April 8th.

The new album consists of 12 songs, with the finalized track listing and album cover art to be revealed shortly. Maple Metal Records comments:

“Misteyes is unique in the sense of having 2 front persons, male and female co-lead vocalists. But, as the day could not exist without the night, in each part of the music, contrast is the fundamental element.

“In 2012, the band started out having a melodic death/black metal sound, but the path changed radically in 2014, with the decision to add a female co-lead vocalist, and a keyboard player to the project. In 2015 this musical evolution came to a fundamental point, and now a 7-member band, Misteyes decided to sum this all up with a debut album. This is how ‘Creeping Time’ was born.”

Prowler Releasing “From The Shadows” Album

Is it fair to state that as metalheads we spend a lot of our time checking out new records? Hunting out the next big thing that we can introduce our friends to, something new, and something that evokes the feelings we once got on an almost daily basis back in the day when first discovering metal?

However, on occasion we’re brought back to the classics, the old Metallica records, early Annihilator and so forth; the exact records we discovered on the voyage of metal discovery. Yet sometimes those old classics just don’t quite hit the spot… And that’s exactly what makes bands such as Prowler a breath of fresh fucking air. Everything we’ve heard before is there, it’s familiar, but it’s new and that’s the fundamental difference.

Formed in 2010, Prowler went on to release four EP’s and a box set before signing to Slaney Records to release debut album “After You” in 2013, and “The New Blood” EP later that same year. The thrash titans hailing from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are now on the verge of unleashing yet another beast of a record, their second full-length, entitled “From The Shadows.” Overseen by Roger Lian, the same man that was responsible for Slayer’s “South Of Heaven” and countless others including Overkill, Pantera and Damageplan; you can be assured a great production.

Artwork was completed by Spanish artist Noël Puente. “From The Shadows” is due out on the 20th of July via Slaney Records and the track listing is:

1. R.O.T.L.D
2. Out Of The Fog
3. I Am Wolf
4. The Thing Not Seen
5. Pet Sematary (The Ramones Cover)
6. Return To The Lot
7. Death On Wheels
8. Creature Of The Black

Teramaze Streaming Entire New Album "Anhedonia"

Yesterday saw the release of “Anhedonia” from Australian act Teramaze, and Pure Grain Audio is now hosting an exclusive full album stream here. The following press release was issued about the band:

“Whilst loosely befitting the genre of thrash metal, the music of Teramaze conjures such adjectives as, ‘innovative,’ ‘progressive,’ and ‘groove-laden,’ but most notably, ‘engaging.’ Keeping the fundamental elements of metal alive in their music, Teramaze pushes metal into unchartered waters with guitar work that is incendiary and powerfully aggressive vocals that drive the song.

“The album Anhedonia was produced and mixed by Dean Wells and mastered by Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Stuck Mojo Halcyon Way) Anhedonia is a critique of modern man’s diminishing ability to experience life’s simple pleasures. Teramaze has been creating tidal waves on its native shores of Australia with its explosive live performances and is ready to bring its music to the masses on the world stage.”

The album’s track listing is as follows:

1. Anhedonia
2. Without Red Hands
3. Through the Madness

5. Acts of Reparation
6. Fear of the Unknown
7. Black Circles
