Best Metal Performance Grammy Nominees Include Anthrax, Mastodon, And More

The nominees for the 57th Grammy Awards have now been revealed, which includes a “best metal performance” category. The nominees in the category for the 2015 awards are:

“Neon Knights” by Anthrax (Ronnie James Dio cover)
“High Road” by Mastodon
“Heartbreaker” by Motörhead
“The Negative One” by Slipknot
“The Last In Line” by Tenacious D

In other metal-related nominations, Metallica’s “Through The Never” movie is also nominated in the “Best Music Film” category. The Grammy Awards will take place on February 8th, 2015 and the full list of nominees can be seen at this location.

Soilwork “Stabbing The Drama” Drum Footage Available

Professionally shot video footage of Soilwork drummer Dirk Verbeuren performing the track “Stabbing The Drama” at the Third Annual International Meinl Drum Festival (held in Gothenburg, Sweden in November 2013) is now available for viewing.

Check it out below, courtesy of Meinl Cymbals. Soilwork’s ninth studio & first dual-disc album, “The Living Infinite,” was released in March 2013 and came in third place in the category of “best album” for our annual year-end awards.

New Nothnegal Animated Video For "Sins Of Our Creations" Posted Online

A new animated music video has been posted online for Nothnegal’s “Sins of Our Creations,” which comes off the “Decadence” album (reviewed here) and was created by Mohamed Sathom.

Nothnegal Presented National Youth Award By Maldives President

Maldives based melodic/industrial death metal act Nothnegal released new album “Decadence” (reviewed here) earlier this year, and now Nothnegal has been honored with a National Youth Award in the band’s home country.

At the official function held to commemorate Youth Day, President Mohamed Waheed presented this year’s National Youth Award to Nothnegal in the category of Performing Arts. Awards were also presented for those notable individuals in the areas of sports, crafts, music, and social service.
