Vengeful To Release Re-Recorded “Karma” Album

Vengeful has checked in with the following update about releasing a re-recorded version of the “Karma” album:

“Greetings!! 2013 is a special year for Vengeful as it marks the 10 year anniversary of the band and the composition of our first songs. Tempted, Sentenced, Cold Ways and Karma were all written in 2003.

“It took us 4 years to complete our first album Karma that was met with mixed reviews. Some dubbed it Tech Death, some Old School death metal and we even got the Deathcore tag by association because our buddy Alex ‘Grind’ Pelletier (Despised Icon) played on half of the album.

“As mentioned before, we re-recorded the drums to all of the tracks from our 1st album during the sessions for our latest double-album Vengeful. That was in November 2010. 26 months and several personnel changes later, we finally comeback with the completed version of those re-recordings.

“They say let the past be the past but how many times have we heard someone say: I wish Suffocation re-recorded Breeding the Spawn in it’s entirety. We ain’t Suffo but we (the band) always thought that Karma became a bit of a shot in the dark because of the production (sound) of the album.

“Well…with Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy) on mixing duties, we believe we’ve addressed that problem once and for all. The end result is undeniably better. You be the judge but at least, now that the band is approaching its first break/hiatus, we know that we’ll leave our back catalogue in a satisfying state.

“Expect KARMAMMXIII to drop around mid-March 2013. A song should be posted at the beginning of March.

“We’ll be celebrating those 10 years of resilience with a few selected dates in March-April alongside our buddies in Phobocosm and Teramobil with a hometown show scheduled for April 19th.

“Musical suggestions: Voivod – Target Earth, Suffocation – Pinnacle of Bedlam, Portal – Vexovoid, Hate – Solarflesh, Defeated Sanity – Passages into Deformity, The Resistance – Rise from Treason. Lots of great underground music to tie us over until the new Gorguts.”
