Spiritbox (IWrestledABearOnce) Debuts New Song “The Beauty Of Suffering” From Forthcoming Self-Titled Debut EP

Spiritbox – featuring former (?) IWrestledABearOnce vocalist Courtney LaPlante and her husband, guitarist Mike Stringer – debuts a new song called “The Beauty Of Suffering”. The single is taken from the duo’s forthcoming self-titled debut EP, which will arrive in stores on October 27th.

Check out now “The Beauty Of Suffering” below.

Says Courtney of the project:

“Personally this record is really important for me because I finally was able to sing a lot. For Michael and me, it is our first collaborative effort since getting married and we wanted every song to reflect our commitment to structure and lyrical emotion, yet still maintain a distinct vibrancy and sound. The first four songs are one long piece meant to be listened to together. They are called ‘The Mara Effect.'”

Adds Stringer:

“We just wanted to focus on the material, and show our talents as seasoned professionals, but at the same time reflect what lies ahead, within a young and fresh vibe, not something from grizzly old jaded musicians.”

Scour Posts New Song “Tear Gas”

In advance of the official detonation of a self-titled debut, Scour – the extreme metal collaboration uniting the talents of Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint etc.), John Jarvis (Pig Destroyer), Derek Engemann (Cattle Decapitation), Chase Fraser (Continuum, former Animosity, Decrepit Birth), and Jesse Schobel (Strong Intention) – is pleased to unveil closing track “Tear Gas” for mass devourment.

Comments Engemann of the track: “‘Tear Gas’ was the final song written for the debut EP. It was completed backstage on the Cannibal Corpse/Cattle Decapitation tour last year. Every day Jarvis and myself would ‘Scour’ for an isolated, quiet spot to set up my portable recording studio. I remember specifically Rob Barrett walking in during the tracking of this song, and gave his nod of approval [laughs]. This song has a chorus section at the end that is unique to this album. Once it was finished, I sent it to Philip to write the lyrics. Of course, The Kid completely just nailed the chorus. ‘Let the war be waged…'”

The band’s six-track, self-titled debut was mixed by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation, Cobalt, Khemmis) and will see release July 15th, 2016 through Housecore Records on CD and vinyl formats.

Black Cobra Releases “Eye Among The Blind” Video

Black Cobra has released a new video for the track “Eye Among The Blind.” The video, directed by Zev Deans (Behemoth, Portal, and more) can be seen below.

Regarding the concept behind the video, Zev comments: “Sisyphus, the two-faced king with the blood of war and betrayal on his hands, was sentenced to Tartarus, the prison below hell, for deceiving Zeus.

“In my version of the story, he is trapped in a Panopticon, ruled by Panoptes, the giant with one hundred eyes. His struggle reflects that of modern man, forever pushing the same stone up a hill each day, under the omnipresent eye of the ruling class. This project was not possible without a brilliant cast and the talents of Rebeccah Lak, who built the maze from scratch.”
