Nightwish To Film Sao Paolo And Buenos Aires Shows For DVD Release

Finnish symphonic metal favourites Nightwish has announced that they will be filming two shows in South America this month for a future DVD release. The performances in São Paulo, Brazil and Aires, Argentina on September 28th and 30th respectively. Speaking about the decision to film these sets, keyboardist / founder Tuomas Holopainen comments:

“The majority of these songs that we are doing on this tour are never gonna be played again, I think, so it’s a good idea to immortalize them.”

More information will be revealed when it becomes available.

Within Temptation Posts New Lyric, “The Reckoning” Video Online

Following on from yesterday’s news that Dutch symphonic metal outfit Within Temptation will release a new album entitled, “Resist” on December 14th, the band has now posted a lyric video for the first song from the new album, “The Reckoning.” You can check it out below. The track features a guest appearance from Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix and will be the first song on “Resist.”

Soulfly, Onslaught And More Confirmed For 70000 Tons Of Metal 2019

With the next edition of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise just under five months away, the lineup is beginning to take shape nicely for the ninth edition of the floating festival. Recently added to the lineup is Soulfly, whose new album “Ritual” drops next month, as well as the final performance from Max & Iggor: Return To Roots, where the Cavalera brothers will perform the seminal Sepultura album “Roots” in its entirety. Also joining them on the trek will be British thrash metal stalwarts Onslaught, who themselves plan to release a new album next year, Dutch death metal favourites, Pestilence, who released their new album, “Hadeon” earlier this year and Austrian symphonic metal outfit Visions Of Atlantis, who also released a new album this year entitled, “The Deep And The Dark.” The ship will set sail from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on January 31 and dock in Labadee, Haiti, before returning on February 4.

Leaves’ Eyes Posts New Video, “Riders On The Wind” Online

This brings the total of confirmed bands to 52 with only eight more still to be announced. The cruise will set sail from Port Lauderdale, Florida on February 1st and head to the Grand Turk and Caicos Islands and back in a trek that will last until February 5th.
