Fleshgod Apocalypse Enters The Studio To Record New Album

Italian symphonic death metallers Fleshgod Apocalypse are currently in the studio recording the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2016 release, “King.” Frontman and drummer Francesco Paoli recently checked in to offer the following update:

“It’s official, we’re finally back in the studio and it feels absolutely great! This past year marked a new era for the band, so we felt the need to look back at our death metal roots and, at the same time, to push ourselves beyond our limits, reaching a wider level of variety and influences within the songs. We wanted this album to be fierce but also organic and unpredictable, as if it had a life on its own. That’s why we decided to involve several guest musicians, a full classical string section and even a choir!

“We’re also incredibly excited to work with legendary producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Destruction, Aborted, Epica) for the first time. He’s the man behind so many amazing metal records and definitely one of our favourite producers at the moment. On my side, being back as the frontman also means this is my last chance to record drums on a Fleshgod Apocalypse record and this awareness actually inspired me so much while writing the parts. I really think this album will be a true landmark for me, as a drummer.”

The as of yet untitled record is tentatively scheduled for a spring 2019 release.

Fleshgod Apocalypse Has Equipment Stolen In Sweden

Italian symphonic death metal band Fleshgod Apocalypse has posted a message online at their official Facebook account, revealing that their equipment, including instruments, were stolen last night in Gothenburg, Sweden an that subsequently, they have had to pull out of the remaining dates with Vader. The statement reads:

“Hello friends, we’re sorry to inform you that we’ll not be able to make it for the last four shows of this tour: Copenhagen, Hamburg, Brasov and Mannheim.

“Last night some miserable pieces of shit broke into our van and stole our full live rig, production tools and stage props, drums gear, our signature custom-made guitars and bass (by Rufini Guitars), merchandise and various spare parts. Please let us know if you spot one of those turds trying to resell our stuff online.

“If you want to help, you can give us a hand by buying some merchandise from our store (shop.fleshgodapocalypse.com).

“This is a tough day for us, but we’re stubborn like a bull and we’ll keep working harder than before, which is the only way we know to overcome adversities. Old-school we are, old-school we’ll die.

“Please spread the word and thanks so much for your support!”

Septicflesh Posts New Video, “Martyr” Online

Greek symphonic death metal veterans Septicflesh has posted a new music video online for the song, “Martyr.” You can check it out below. The song comes from the band’s latest album, “Codex Omega,” which was released last year through Season Of Mist Records and is the second song to receive the music video treatment after, “Portrait Of A Headless Man,” which was also directed by Jon Simvonis. Speaking about the video and it’s kendo theme, the band stated:

“We are welcoming the new year by releasing a second video from our latest album, ‘Codex Omega’ – this time for the song, ‘Martyr’. Once again the clip is directed by Jon Simvonis, blending the music of Septicflesh with Kendo, which literally means ‘the way of the sword’. It is a battle of sword and spirit. The ultimate goal of the fighter is to become superior to his own previous self.”

Director Jon Simvonis adds: “We really had an awesome time filming Septicflesh while they were delivering an explosive performance for the ‘Martyr’ video! No wonder, why this band nails it on every stage that they set foot on.”
