Eluveitie Posts New Video “Ategnatos” Online

We all wade through archetypes. We all ARE archetypes. Distant echoes of a life both primeval and noble. To embrace these archetypes, to accept them not only as a part of life but as life itself is what some may call enlightenment, some peace of mind. Eluveitie call it “Ategnatos.” And by using their longest ever gap between albums to gather momentum, they just forged their strongest album around it. “Ategnatos” will be released on April 5th 2019 via Nuclear Blast.

Today, the band has released the title track as the debut single, right in time for the pre-order start. The song can be heard and watched in the form of a music video over on YouTube. The music video was produced by the Polish company Grupa13 in January 2019 and can be seen below.

Chrigel Glanzmann states:
“So here it is, the first single off our new album (well, apart the ‘sneak peek’ you already got a year ago with ‘Rebirth’), being the title track itself. It’s the song off the album introducing you into the whole mental realm that is ‘Ategnatos’! Its message comes inconvenient maybe, challenging, evocative. This is a call from Antumnos!”

Motograter Deny Reports Of Mass Exodus Of Band Members – Say They “Are Ready To Rock”

Motograter have issued a statement denying the recent report that five members of the group had left the band. Yesterday, this report emerged via Numetal.net, which alleged that the band were down to guitarist/vocalist Matt “Nuke” Nunes, having shared a screen cap of a text conversation with guitarist Jesse Stamper that mentioned a mass exodus of band members. Motograter have since denied those reports, issuing the below statement:

“Everything is fine, we just completed our headline tour. Something small got blown out of proportion in the media due to a disgruntled ex-member falsely reporting that we broke up and spreading the news to other websites. That couldn’t be further from the truth. We are the strongest we’ve ever been! We have festivals coming up and then the Terror Universal co-headlining tour coming up after that. We are ready to rock!”

It is unsure if the ‘disgruntled ex-member’ refers to Stamper or the Motograter’s former drummer Noah “Shark” Robertson, who has ties to numetal.net. Robertson feuded with Nunes via social media making allegations of drug abuse and violent behavior after being let go.

Exalter Premieres New Song “The Dreaded End” From Upcoming New Album “Persecution Automated”

Bangladesh’s thrash metal band, Exalter has surfaced late this year to give us a brand new full length packed with its trademark style of old school thrash. Carrying on in the style that they cemented on their infamous ‘Obituary for the Living’ release, now completely sold out, they’ve worked on their structuring some more and give us an equally enjoyable and even more memorable album in ‘Persecution Automated’. With its infallible foundation in Teutonic and in parts even early Canadian thrash metal sound, Exalter are poised to become one of the strongest contenders for Asia’s burgeoning thrash metal scene.

You can check out another new track called “The Dreaded End” below.

Feral Inks Deal With Transcending Obscurity Records

Feral today proudly announces the band has signed to Transcending Obscurity Records for the release of an upcoming, and still-untitled, album that is to be recorded later this year.

Vocalist David Nilsson comments on the signing: “We are thrilled to announce that Feral has signed to Transcending Obscurity Records, one of the fastest growing labels around right now.

“Their passion for the music and dedication to each undertaking convinced us immediately and we can’t wait to reveal our next release through them. The new material we have prepared is some of our strongest to date, and we are sure that it will be in the right hands with Transcending Obscurity Records.

“At this point we have more than enough material written and plan to start recording later this year, a raging death metal onslaught is soon in the making.”

The label adds: “Transcending Obscurity Records is proud to have another stellar Swedish death metal act in its ranks. Feral are going from strength to strength and their latest EP was gnarly, aggressive and yet redolent of the classic Swedish sound. We believe the best from them is yet to come. We’re happy to work with David Nilsson and the band and have signed a two-album contract, starting with a full length that will be unleashed first. They’re taking the Swedish death metal sound ahead and that’s what’s most appealing about this hardworking band.”

Wolvhammer Enters The Recording Studio

Directly following a North American trek with Shining and Revenge, Wolvhammer has entered New Constellation Studio in Orlando, Florida and is currently immersed in the recording of the band’s fourth LP, which will be released later this year.

Issues Wolvhammer’s Adam Clemans from the studio, “We just finished a three-week tour across the country with Revenge and Shining. Sharing the stage with those bands was a very visceral and enjoyable experience for us. We have all been supportive of both bands for some time, so we were very pleased to be able to join forces with them for a tour.

“Currently we are in Orlando, Florida recording our fourth LP with Jarrett Pritchard at New Constellation Studio and we couldn’t be more stoked. Jarrett is a talented guy who understands our sound and our vision and I truly and firmly believe that this record will be our strongest and most venomous yet. Without giving away too much, the new record has a bit of a throwback vibe to the more punk based sound and roots that originally birthed the band. But we are still expanding our sound and influences simultaneously as we are all very much into goth and deathrock bands.”

Me And That Man (Behemoth) Premieres NSFW Video”Magdalene”

Me And That Man, featuring Behemoth frontman Nergal, has premiered the below NSFW video for the band’s track “Magdalene”.

Comments Nergal:

“Well…let’s say Jesus walked this earth. Let’s say he really was a leader of a new founded sect. And look around…every guru, every charismatic leader, they were surrounded by many gorgeous women of which I’m sure they took advantage of. I bet Jesus was no different. But one day, like every other Casanova, he falls in love with one woman. Let’s say her name was…Magdalene. She’s resistant to his adoration, so he pulls out the strongest cards to prove his love and devotion for her. He changes water to wine, walks on the water…just to convince her. What’s the result of his attempts…? Listen to the song and find out yourself.”

Woe Reveals New Album “Hope Attrition”

U.S. black metal legion Woe will release long-awaited new full-length album “Hope Attrition” this March 17th, 2017 via new label home of Vendetta Records.

The alarming seven-track offering, and first in four years following the “Withdrawal” album (reviewed here), was penned throughout the end of 2015 and most of 2016.

Featuring founding guitarist/vocalist Chris Grigg alongside a monster lineup of longtime contributing bassist Grzesiek Czapla, guitarist Matt Mewton, and drummer Lev Weinstein, “Hope Attrition” is a frenzied but mournful work that draws from Woe’s darkest black metal influences while bringing out dormant death metal undertones.

The album is bolstered by the crushing production of engineer Stephen DeAcutis (Evoken, Dim Mak) at Sound Spa Studios in Edison, New Jersey. “Hope Attrition” is a personal commentary on the chaos of the modern world that only Woe can offer. Grigg relays of the record’s manifestation:

“‘Hope Attrition’ is the result of the most intense writing and demoing process since the first album. The long break from playing and performing gave me the opportunity to approach Woe with a renewed energy and perspective. Grzesiek acted as co-producer and under his watchful eye, I wrote and scrapped nearly another album’s worth of material before settling on these, which then saw fine tuning at the hands of the full band.

“The world itself provided the ultimate motivation and pushed us darker, heavier, more oppressive, resulting in the strongest work in our catalog. We are particularly proud to be working with Vendetta on this release, as they are a partner who shares our dedication to our art.”

3. A Distant Epitaph
