Despised Icon Comments On “Beast” Hitting U.S. And Canadian Chart Positions

Montreal based deathcore group Despised Icon is celebrating the band’s highest first-week sales yet with new album “Beast.” After seven years and in a down music market, the band managed to outdo the first-week sales for previous 2009 release, “Day Of Mourning.”

“Shout-out to the fans for picking up Beast and making this our strongest debut,” stated vocalist Alex Erian. “Your support after all these years gave us the motivation we needed to get back together and create this record. We’re slowly but surely working on a world tour and hope to see you on the road in the near future. Keep it brutal,”

New album “Beast” was produced and engineered by former guitarist Yannick St-Amand (Beneath The Massacre, Neuraxis) and mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Opeth, Nevermore). Artwork was created by Alexandre Goulet and the album nabbed these chart positions:

U.S.
#63 Top Current Albums (Former Billboard Top 200)
#2 Heatseekers
#7 Hard Music
#22 Rock
#13 Independent Current Album

Canada
Top Albums – #119 (Canada’s Top 200)
Hard Music – #11

Deserters Posts “God Feels Nothing” Track Online

Another track from Deserters upcoming EP “Try To Feel” has now been posted online. You can listen to “God Feels Nothing” in the player below.

“It’s about guilt and God’s capacity to feel. I believe that if God could feel guilt, or anything at all, he would have bowed out, a long time ago,” stated vocalist Matthew Roell. He further explains: “We are told that he is omnipotent, omnipresent, all-powerful and all knowing. Why would it be a sin to kill myself, if God planned it? Why would it be a sin to voice my disbelief, if God wrote the script? The only thing that makes me Godlike and the only thing that makes God like a man, is knowing when it is our time to leave.”

“Try To Feel” will be available via digital retailers on October 29th through Mediaskare Records.

Antagonist A.D. Streaming New Song "Violence"

Antagonist A.D. has premiered the song “Violence” online from the upcoming album “Nothing From No One.” Check out the song in the player below. “Nothing From No One” is set to hit stores on July 3rd through Mediaskare Records.

“The new album steps in a more personal direction than our previous releases,” stated vocalist Sam Crocker. “There are still the usual themes you can expect from Antagonist A.D. with songs about animal rights, consumerism & apathy, but where it differs is dealing with anxiety, depression – feelings of alienation. I think for me, being from a tiny town on a small isolated island at bottom of the world I really started to feel that isolation – the lyrics have been a lot more therapeutic than anything I have written before.”
