Monte Pittman launches “Obliterated” video (feat. Richard Christy & Billy Sheehan)

– April 20th, 2017 –

Having released his new album, Inverted Grasp of Balance, last year via Metal Blade Records, Monte Pittman is now launching a performance video for the album track “Obliterated”, featuring drummer Richard Christy and bassist Billy Sheehan (both of whom played on the album). To watch “Obliterated” (with footage of Billy Sheehan from the album’s recording sessions), please visit:

There are great guitarists, great vocalists and great songwriters, but Monte Pittman is one of the elite few who can truly lay claim to all three titles. With his fourth full-length, Inverted Grasp of Balance, he has once again raised the stakes, delivering a riveting collection of full force metal that showcases his continuing evolution, undoubtedly expanding his devout – and ravenous – fan base. The record also features powerhouse drummer Richard Christy of Charred Walls Of The Damned/Iced Earth/Death fame and virtuoso bassist Billy Sheehan, famous for his work with a plethora of talented artists – including David Lee Roth, Mr. Big and, more recently, Winery Dogs. The skill of all concerned explodes from the speakers!

Blood Incantation Releasing New Album “Starspawn”

Colorado death metal band Blood Incantation will release debut full-length album “Starspawn” this summer (August 18th) on Dark Descent Records.

After signing with the label just prior to the August 2015 release of the “Interdimensional Extinction” EP, Blood Incantation returns with a 30-minute cerebral whirlwind of powerful atmospheric death metal. Dark Descent Records comments:

“Produced entirely in analog, the energy and magnetism of live Blood Incantation is tangibly melting through the speakers, and the songwriting, production and performance constellations have all fully aligned.

“The intense and otherworldly technical/ambient/funeral death metal of ‘Starspawn’ leaves the listener feeling transcendentally disembodied at the end of an unknown dimension. With appearances at California Death Fest and Covenant Festival (Canada) already on the horizon, and an even more extensive US tour this September, the worldwide spread of the Blood Incantation tentacles into all orbits is as inevitable as your own death and this galaxy’s violent collapse.”

01. Vitrification of Blood (Part 1)
02. Chaoplasm
03. Hidden Species (Vitrification of Blood Part 2)
04. Meticulous Soul Devourment
05. Starspawn

Cretus Releasing Debut EP “Dux Mea Lux”

After an explosive run on the famed New Orleans metal scene in 2014, Cretus is releasing debut EP, “Dux Mea Lux,” this coming September 4 on Pavement Music.

Rock vet Pepper Keenan (Down, Corrosion Of Conformity) has been singing the mysterious group’s praises, stating: “Cretus is a killer band with ripping guitar work and clear vocal hooks. For sure a future global outfit. They wear masks and slaughter virgins on stage. Need I say more?”

Yep, another masked, mysterious band. The following press release was issued about Cretus: “While it is unknown exactly when or where Cretus formed, the group began publicly spreading its message through music in 2014. Devout followers of Cretus pack into shows wearing the group’s signature black masks and cloaks, bobbing their heads in support as hypnotic lights pulse and dense fog surrounds them, becoming a raving heavy metal congregation unable and unwilling to escape the dark energy emanating from the speakers.”

The new EP’s track listing is:

1. Price Of Immortality
2. Darkness Bites
3. What I Will
4. The Leader
5. Little Children

Monsterworks Posts New Track “Penultimate”

UK supermetallers Monsterworks has teamed with New Noise Magazine for the exclusive premiere of a brand new track off the band’s forthcoming album, “Overhaul.” Titled “Penultimate,” the song is now playing here.
Overhaul is set for release on August 26th. The album will be available as a download and 180g gatefold vinyl signed by the band, with lyrics. Vocalist/Guitarist Jon comments on the upcoming release:

“Test pressings of the LP arrived the other day and it sounds fantastic. I mean, it was not like magical steel butterflies swarmed out of the speakers just because it was vinyl, but it is pretty cool to hear our hard work cut to wax. Really excited for the release of this one and getting the full 12 inches of artwork for the first time.

We are scheduled to release on August 26th, although it could be a few days after that when the LPs actually arrive. In any event we will take orders via Bandcamp from that day and you will get an immediate download of the album.”

Seven Against Streaming “Bleach” Track

Finnish outfit Seven Against has a new track out now titled “Bleach,” which can be heard below. The band also comments:

“You might have been wondering what is happening in the Seven Against camp and to be more precise what is happening with the recording process we informed you about in the beginning of this year.

“Well, no need to guess anymore. Seven Against is back with a new powerful and driving tune full of energy. Say hello to Bleach, your #1 beer drinking anthem for this summer. Bleach will be one of the 11 songs off of our first full-length to be released after the summer.

“Unfortunately due to various reasons we couldn’t make it early summer as was the plan originally. Expect to hear some of our old tunes re-recorded/mixed/mastered together with some new killer ones. It will be a great album, no doubt about that! Mixing duties will be handled by Mikko Raita whose mixing discography includes such names as Apocalyptica, Sunrise Avenue and Von Hertzen Brothers. Meanwhile, put your speakers and headphones to a test and crank the volume up and enjoy Bleach!”

“Welcome to the second assault of the Spanish metal band Wild. ‘En Tierra Hostil’ was roduced by Ángel ‘Choco’ Muñoz, recorded, mixed and mastered in studios Traste Cero in Madrid.
