KATAKLYSM And HYPOCRISY Announce Death… Is Just The Beginning European Co-Headline Tour
Montréal based melodic death metallers Kataklysm have announced that they will be teaming up with Swedish death metal legends Hypocrisy for a European co-headline tour.

The tour’s special name traces back to Nuclear Blast’s popular sampler series and promises nothing but evenings of moshpits and endless devastation. Don’t miss out on this outstanding tour and secure your tickets now.

Kataklysm’s Maurizio Iacono states: “It’s been in talks for over two years and finally both Kataklysm and our brothers in Hypocrisy can make the schedule work to join forces once more. It’s been almost 15 years since we toured together and the last time we did the tours became instant classics. It‘s that time again folks… Kataklysm & Hypocrisy team up once more for a world tour beginning with Europe this fall. To make things even greater our record label Nuclear Blast has come on board and baptized the tour Death… Is Just The Beginning, a homage to the old classic compilations that made so many fans discover both bands back in the day. This will mark the return of this classic compilation with this tour and maybe give other artists the chance to get discovered like we did. DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR, YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE!”

Hypocrisy’s Peter Tägtgren adds: “I hope that you are just as excited as we are, because we are very happy to announce that we are finally warming up the Hypocrisy engine again and that we will be back on the road in fall! We will be touring Europe together with our friends in Kataklysm! The tour will be an overview of the chaos and confusion created by Hypocrisy over the years. See you out there!”

Former Judas Priest Drummer Dave Holland Dies Aged 69

As first reported by Spanish newspaper El Progreso, Dave Holland the former drummer of Trapeze and perhaps more notably Judas Priest, has passed away at the age of 69. No cause of death has been confirmed. Holland was a co-founder of the hard rock band Trapeze along with musicians such as Glen Hughes before joining Judas Priest in the summer of 1979, making his recording debut on the classic album, “British Steel” and stuck with the group for ten years before leaving for personal reasons and was replaced by Racer X drummer Scott Travis.

His legacy was marred when in 2004, he was sentenced to eight years in prison for attempted rape and indecent assault against a vulnerable seventeen year old who he had been teaching drums, though he always maintained his innocence. He moved to Spain after his release and died at the Hospital Universitario Lucus Augusti in Lugo, Spain.

Eye Of Nix Premiere New Song “Wound And Scar” From Upcoming New Album “Black Somnia”

Seattle doom outfit Eye Of Nix premiere a new song entitled “Wound And Scar”, taken from their upcoming new album “Black Somnia”, which will see release through Scry Recordings on December 15.

Check out now “Wound And Scar” below.

Explains vocalist Joy Von Spain:

“In the song ‘Wound and Scar,’ we strove to evoke finality and resolution through repetitive bass-heavy rhythms accentuated with piano and distorted gong. The lyrics came from a dream about a woman brutally intent upon ending a cycle of fear imprinted on ancestors and passed down through DNA, halting a lineage of misery at any cost. I had been reading about an experiment in which two generations of mice were shown to react with anxiety when exposed to a new and innocuous scent (cherry blossoms), simply because their predecessors had been made to fear it.”

Many words come to mind when you hear the name Cannibal Corpse, but one truly defines the soon-to-be thirty-year death metal veterans: Unstoppable. Produced by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, Goatwhore), Red Before Black serves to not only reiterate this but to once more raise the stakes, making it very clear who sets the standard when it comes to always compelling music that is equally brutal and complex. Moreover, the band have pushed themselves again, ensuring that it stands out from their catalog. “Throughout our career we’ve tried to improve the precision of both our musical execution and our album production, while still maintaining full-on aggression. ‘Red Before Black‘ continues in that direction, but might go even further on the aggressive side of things. It’s definitely precise, but it has a rawness to it that goes beyond anything we’ve done recently,” asserts bassist Alex Webster. “We really worked super hard crafting these songs, practicing them, and getting them where we wanted to be more so than on any of our previous albums,” adds drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz. “And as Alex said, musically I think it’s the most raw sound we’ve had – and at the same time I think it’s our most focused, tightest and catchiest record.”
