Blaze Bayley Announces Iron Maiden Anniversary Shows

Blaze Bayley, singer with Iron Maiden from 1994 to 1999, announces that he will be playing a special Iron Maiden setlist at selected festival appearances in 2019. Choosing songs from his era with the band, these shows will celebrate 25 years since Blaze joined Iron Maiden. This will be the first and last opportunity to see such a setlist.

Blaze, who releases a new album and DVD, Live In France, on March 1st, and has just returned from a successful stint touring Latin America, sees this as the perfect opportunity to celebrate his time in Maiden which was such a positive experience and influence on his career as a whole.

Blaze has this to say, “25 years ago my great adventure with Iron Maiden began. It was a wonderful five years in my career and something I’m very proud of. Since then I have toured almost every year, and made 11 studio albums and three live albums. Recently, many fans have asked me to perform songs from the two albums I recorded with Iron Maiden, so this year to celebrate that magical time, I’m doing a full set of my favourite songs from the X-Factor and Virtual XI albums at festivals. My voice has developed and changed since my time as lead vocalist with Iron Maiden. Now I feel I’m singing better than ever, so I’m very excited about singing those old songs with the voice I have now.”

These festivals will feature a special Iron Maiden setlist from Blaze Bayley:

June 6 – Sweden Rock – Sweden
June 14 – Rock The Coast – Spain
July 27 – Headbangers Open Air – Germany
August 9 – Mannried Open Air – Switzerland
August 10 – Dark River Festival – Finland

The band at these shows will be Blaze’s regular touring and recording outfit taken from British band Absolva, plus Iced Earth bassist / Absolva guitarist Luke Appleton. The lineup is as follows:

Chris Appleton – guitar and backing vocals
Luke Appleton – guitar and backing vocals
Martin Mcnee – drums
Karl Schramm – bass and backing vocals

Chris Appleton adds, “Normally when we perform as Blaze’s band we are a four-piece including Blaze, so just myself on lead guitar and that really works for us. But for these Maiden sets, we think it’s really cool to bring in my brother Luke as second guitarist to enhance the Maiden feel. It’s an honour for us to play these songs with Blaze, increasingly recognised as an important chapter in Maiden’s history.”

Exumer reveals details for new album, ‘Hostile Defiance’

– February 12th, 2019 –

Launches video for title track; announces European tour dates

On April 5th, legendary multinational thrash metallers Exumer will release their fifth full-length, Hostile Defiance, via Metal Blade Records.

Hostile Defiance is exactly what its title suggests. A 42-minute full on attack, the thrash faction hold nothing back as they unleash hell as only they can, yet with more variety and dynamics than ever before. “We wanted to sonically progress, incorporating more melodic elements in the music as well as more rhythmic variety,” states vocalist Mem Von Stein. “We are a lot braver trying to create an up to date and relevant sound that can easily stand alone in today’s thrash landscape without sounding trite or a throwback, and we’re challenging the listener not to get too comfortable with one specific feel, tempo or pace.”

For a preview of the album, the video for the first single, “Hostile Defiance”, can be seen at: metalblade.com/exumer. The clip was created by renowned cover artist Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Voivod, etc.), who also made the album artwork and layout for Hostile Defiance.

Fans can pre-order Hostile Defiance at metalblade.com/exumer in the following formats:

Hostile Defiance marks Exumer‘s third time working with producer Dennis Koehne (Sodom, Melechesh). Tracking the album in studios in Dortmund and Frankfurt, the sessions were marked with “super positive vibes all around with a strong, driven work ethic to create an optimal product.” The band plans to tour the record hard, and will be hitting the road in Europe when the album drops, and from that point onward, they will be visiting as many countries as possible. “Our goal is simple: to further establish the band as one of the main German thrash metal acts that began in the 1980s and are now carrying the torch into the 2020s.”

Behemoth launches new video for “Ecclesia Diabolica Catholica”

– January 9th, 2019 –

Set to kick-off European tour with At the Gates, Wolves in the Throne Room tomorrow

After recently completing a North American headlining tour with At the Gates and Wolves in the Throne Room, Behemoth will be bringing this must-see show to Europe, starting tomorrow! In anticipation of the trek, the band has also launched a new video for “Ecclesia Diabolica Catholica” (directed by Grupa 13 / grupa13.com), taken from their latest album, I Loved You At Your Darkest. To watch the clip, please visit: youtube.com/watch?v=HKWqzjQAv14

Orion (bass & vocals) comments: Behemoth Legions! As this ‘ILYAYD‘ adventure continues onwards, we want to share a new video with you! Since we began the writing process, ‘Ecclesia Diabolica Catholica’ was a stand-out contender to be featured as a single and music video. As the song evolved during rehearsal and recording, it gained this lively, furious vibe…which you hear now – thus, it includes live performance elements which we’ve not done in quite some time. We are happy to work with Grupa13 once again – and once again, they showed their super-professional approach at every step of the shooting and video production. Two separate locations, hours of preparation, but it was all worth it. In absentia dei, we evangelize! Enjoy!”

Behemoth and Kings County Brewers Collective (Brooklyn, NY) recently announced that they have joined forces for a Double IPA, “Wolf ov Siberia”! From the most blasphemous depths of extreme metal comes a collaboration brew of epic proportions: “Wolf ov Siberia” pours pale gold in the glass, with a light lupulin haze. A blistering blast of bright lemon and crushed lime greets your nose, followed by grapefruit, melon and green pine from a megaload of Citra, Motueka and Centennial hops. Balanced by soft wheat and flaked rye, with a touch of savage bitterness on the finish, it’s fierce, fresh, and dangerously drinkable at a 7.7% ABV. “Wolf ov Siberia” beckons all Behemoth and beer fans – “come all ye wolves ov Siberia, we hail the flame, we hail the ice…”
