Forty Winters Streaming New Track “Return To The Earth”

South Florida heavy metal outfit Forty Winters has teamed up with Lambgoat.com to premiere brand new track “Return to the Earth” from the band’s upcoming “Isolation” digital EP, due out this fall. Stream “Return to the Earth” in the player below.

“This EP release was designed to get new material to our following as quick and easy as possible,” vocalist Xavier Vicuna told Lambgoat. “We have been fortunate enough to be on the road giving Reflection the proper tour cycle it deserved, but it was time for new music and it was time to give back. Kids asking at shows and online when they could expect new jams really pushed us to get in the studio and track a few of the songs we were already working on and happy with.”

“Isolation” was recorded in late August with Charles J. Wall and Phil Pluskota at Sonic Assault Studios in Cape Coral, Florida (Betraying The Martyrs, Abiotic, King Conquer).

“We really tried to warp our roots and influences into a newer, more aggressive approach,” added Vicuna. “We’ve grooved, we’ve jammed and we’ve dropped it, but the goal has always been to evolve. The new stuff is pretty evil and a lot more genuine; we really focused on being ourselves and doing what felt natural. It’s gonna be pretty raw – a lot of slamming and thrashing.”

The track listing is as follows:

1. The Darkening
2. Return to the Earth
3. Isolate

Volturyon Recruits New Bassist Tim Scott

Volturyon has checked in with the following announcement about recruiting a new bassist:

“We are happy to announce that Tim Scott is Volturyon’s new bass player. Tim has been a friend of the band for many years and we’re very glad to have him onboard.

“Tim grew up in Northern California and the Bay Area thrash scene. By the age of 16 Tim had already played in various hardrock/metal bands before moving to the New York City area. There Tim found a thrash band Parasyte and quickly made contacts in the New York/ New Jersey underground metal scene including Henry Veggian and John MacEntee of Revenant. In 1987 Tim was asked to join Revenant and the then new started death metal revolution.

“Over the years with Revenant, Tim played shows with and toured with such bands as Morbid Angel, Gorefest, Napalm Death and Cannibal Corpse to name only a few. Revenant disband in 1994 and Tim decided to take his bass to Florida and the then exploding South Florida death scene, there he teamed up with Phil Faciana (Malevolent Creation ) and Rob Barret (Cannibal Corpse) creating a Grind band called HatePlow. In 1999 Tim left HatePlow and moved to Sweden.

“In Sweden Tim has kept himself involved with the music scene as promoter and metal disc jockey. The addiction of playing music has never left him and in 2011 Tim started Margrave with friends Torbjörn Bryndel(Insision) and Henke Östensson (The Ugly) , that culminated in an EP ‘Acid Spell’ TBR 2013/14 on Bifrost records.

“Tim is also trying his hand as vocalist in Methane. A venture with Jimi Masterbo (Hell Patrol) that is testing new demensions of the Southern Metal / Groove metal genre.”
