New Song “Mutilation Mansion” Available From Acid Witch

Today, the ever-singular Acid Witch revealed the new song “Mutilation Mansion.” The song hails from the band’s third album “Evil Sound Screamers,” which will see digital release on Halloween via Hells Headbangers; the CD and vinyl LP formats shall be released by Hells Headbangers in the new year. Check out “Mutilation Mansion” in the player at the bottom.

Although their catalog is relatively sparse, Acid Witch should need no introduction. It’s been seven long years since the release of their classic second album “Stoned.” That album saw Acid Witch take the bewitching formula of the “Witchtanic Hallucinations” debut to greater, more entrancing lengths, swirling about a heady (and headfucking) brew of gutted doom-death riffage and spooky synth embellishments.

Now on “Evil Sound Screamers,” those synths don’t so much take a lead role as unite every thread across the record, flitting in and out of perception like a fever dream (or an LSD nightmare) and otherwise torquing all the gutsfucking riffs that now stomp ‘n’ sway with a rousingly anthemic quality. They are authentically analog synthesizers, too, just like the beloved sound design of those classic horror movies. Additionally, the acute placement of samples further threads everything together in a manner most filmic. And that’s to say nothing of the production here, which finds a hazy, crazy balance between murky and 3D.

Before you know it, the 38 minutes of “Evil Sound Screamers” is up and you’re immediately pressing “play” again and again. Now more than ever, there’s really no other band out there quite like Acid Witch: Evil Sound Screamers is the band’s magnum opus, and long may its reign continue. This is the season of the Witch!

The track listing is:

1. Scare Tape
2. Mr. Beistle
3. I Hate Halloween
4. Cheap Gore
5. Nain Rouge (The Red Dwarf)
6. Enter At Your Own Risk
7. Mutilation Mansion
8. Hardrock Halloween
9. Nightmares In A Damaged Brain
10. An Evil Sound Screaming

New Video “Eyes On The Prize” Issued By Jupiter Zeus

Australia’s Jupiter Zeus issued a video clip for “Eyes On The Prize,” the title track of the new EP issued earlier this month.

Tucked away in Perth, Western Australia, Jupiter Zeus are the very definition of a band who seem to have come from nowhere… but its arrival – laden with walls of guitar, hypnotic rhythms and almost psychedelic vocals – is far from quiet.

From the stage or simply blasting in your car; the sound of Jupiter Zeus is as monolithic and grand as its namesakes. Check out “Eyes On The Prize” here:

New Song “‘Till Body Quits” Streaming From The Ditch And The Delta

The Ditch and the Delta formed out of three friends of nearly 15 years. While Elliot Secrist (guitar/vocals), and Charles Bogus (Drums), have played in bands off an on over that span of time, it was the addition of Kory Quist (Bass/vocals) that solidified the band and their sound. Aetherian Posts New Song “Seeds Of Deception”

Greek melodic death metal group Aetherian today reveals “Seeds of Deception,” the first song from debut album “The Untamed Wilderness,” which is set to be released in November of 2017 via Lifeforce Records. The label comments:

“Listening to Aetherian for the first time makes you think the band would come from Finland or Sweden, but the trio in fact is from sunny shores of Greece. Even with a Southern heritage and much more Vitamin D in their veins the band from Athens share the same melancholic genes as their ‘competitors’ from the upper North. With the sound the band is creating we are very sure Aetherian will be playing in the first league of melodic death metal bands very soon.”

Byzantine enters Billboard charts for new album, ‘The Cicada Tree’

– August 7th, 2017 –

Byzantine – the most underrated band from the New Wave of American Heavy Metal Movement! – recently released their new album, The Cicada Tree, via Metal Blade Records; for their efforts, the band has now entered the Billboard charts! See below for all positions:

#11 Current Digital Albums
#16 Current Hard Music Albums
#29 Record Label Independent Current Albums
#145 Top 200 Current Albums
#13 Top New Artist

To state that The Cicada Tree is “classic Byzantine” in no way implies that this is an album solely rooted in the band’s past. Certainly, all of the hallmarks that have made their sound so compelling for close to two decades are present and correct: muscular yet lithe riffs and fluid leads play against gripping, dynamic and at times unpredictable rhythms, while rich melodies and lyrics that are both involved and intelligent wind their way through every track. But, once more, the groove metal unit has continued their steady evolution – the interplay between their members organic and natural, imbuing the record’s sixty-two-minute running time with a freshness and urgency. Founding member Chris “OJ” Ojeda states, “The first few albums, you’re trying to find your sound, and sometimes you tend to not see the forest for the trees. Now, on album number six, it seems a calmness took hold during the songwriting process, possibly from just having more confidence in our sound. At this point, our fans expect us to experiment and push our boundaries, which is an extremely liberating feeling.
