Nov. 20 – Turf Club – St. Paul, MN
Nov. 21 – Reggie’s Rock Club – Chicago, IL
Nov. 23 – Magic Stick – Detroit, MI

Nov. 26 – Les Foufounes Electriques – Montreal, QC
Nov. 28 – Gramercy Theater – New York, NY
Nov. 29 – Montage Music Hall – Rochester, NY
Nov. 30 – One Centre Square – Easton, PA

Gozu will be touring in support of Equilibrium, which was released earlier this year via Blacklight Media Records. With roots in 70s fuzzy stoner rock, the grit of 90s grunge and the winning dirty rock n’ roll that has in recent years made a resurgence, Gozu has been churning out killer records since 2009. With 2016′s Revival they took their sound in a somewhat new and more aggressive direction, and in doing so, dropped the most compulsive, exciting and downright badass album of their career – and Equilibrium has only raised the stakes. “We wanted these songs to hit a nerve, make people shake their ass and enjoy simply being alive,” says vocalist/guitarist Marc “Gaff” Gaffney, who founded the band with lead guitarist Doug Sherman. Much of the record’s strength stems from the unit growing since Revival, the first full-length featuring drummer Mike Hubbard and bassist Joseph Grotto. Having also reunited with Revival producer Dean Baltulonis (Hatebreed/Goes Cube/The Hold Steady) at Wild Arctic Studio in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the record is certainly the catchiest and most instant music dropped by the quartet, embracing their love of pop music but without compromising on any of the other vital elements of their sound.

Metal Church Posts New Video, “Damned If You Do” Online

West coast metal veterans Metal Church will release their 12th full length studio album “Damned If You Do” via Nuclear Blast Records on December 7th 2018 (Rat Pak Records/America & King Records/Japan). The latest release is the follow-up to their highly successful 2016 album XI, which saw the return of legendary front man Mike Howe. “Damned If You Do” is a cross between the band’s iconic “Blessing In Disguise” and “The Human Factor.” This new offering features ten fully-charged, classic-metal influenced songs showcasing the sound that has garnered the band a solid fan base for over 3 decades.

Hot on the heels of the aforementioned announcement, Metal Church have released the first music video for the title track “Damned If You Do.” The song is quintessential Metal Church and showcases the sound that has garnered the band fans all around the globe, with its driving guitar riffs, punishing drum beat and instantly recognizable vocals. The live performance video can be seen below.

Mike Howe comments: “I hope the fans enjoy this first video, it really sets the tone for the entire album. We are doing our best to keep metal alive Metal Church style. Damned if we didn’t!”

Stet Howland adds, “From my first listen of the ‘Damned If You Do’ demo I was blown away. From Mike’s ‘hummm’ intro to Kurdt’s bad ass guitar riff to the infectious chorus, I was hooked! If I was any more excited people would have to call me ‘shit legs’. Hahaha.”

Byzantine launches new video for “The Cicada Tree”

– September 19th, 2018 –

After releasing their latest album, The Cicada Tree, last year to critical acclaim, Byzantine is now launching a new video for the record’s title track! Directed by Holly Mollohan / Screaming Butterfly Entertainment, the clip for “The Cicada Tree” can be viewed at: youtube.com/watch?v=EbWXmBWlPqg

Vocalist/Guitarist Chris “OJ” Ojeda comments:
“Over the course of our last few albums, we have really been trying to stretch our songwriting abilities and push past any limitations set upon ourselves. The title track, ‘The Cicada Tree’, is a great representation of our band at this point in our discography. We try to always write from the heart and with purpose. This song has one of the deeper meanings on our last album, symbolizing our 17 years as a band and our slow but steady evolution as an underground artist.”

To state that The Cicada Tree is “classic Byzantine” in no way implies that this is an album solely rooted in the band’s past. Certainly, all of the hallmarks that have made their sound so compelling for close to two decades are present and correct: muscular yet lithe riffs and fluid leads play against gripping, dynamic and at times unpredictable rhythms, while rich melodies and lyrics that are both involved and intelligent wind their way through every track. But, once more, the groove metal unit has continued their steady evolution – the interplay between their members organic and natural, imbuing the record’s sixty-two-minute running time with a freshness and urgency. Founding member Chris “OJ” Ojeda states, “The first few albums, you’re trying to find your sound, and sometimes you tend to not see the forest for the trees. Now, on album number six, it seems a calmness took hold during the songwriting process, possibly from just having more confidence in our sound. At this point, our fans expect us to experiment and push our boundaries, which is an extremely liberating feeling.”

Lotus Eater Debut New Music Video For “Break It”

Scottish metal band Lotus Eater premiere a new video for the band’s new track “Break It“. Comments the band:

“This is the sound of despair, the sound of five broken people, the sound of what happens when you take all hope away. This is not a fucking game to us: we are here to take over.”

Lesser Glow Premiere Pre-Release Full-Album Stream Of Upcoming New Album “Ruined”

Ruined, the impending debut full-length from Boston’s LESSER GLOW, is streaming in its entirety below. Featuring within its ranks former members of Black Elm, Irepress, and The Proselyte, LESSER GLOW rips open a massively wide and confident blend of traditional doom and melodic metal, paired with hardcore, noise, post-rock, and beyond. Molding all these into one cohesive mix, LESSER GLOW stands out as a refreshing and unapologetically brutal take on heavy music.

Comments the band of the release:

“With Ruined, we set out to simply make heavy music. There was no meditated preconception of genre or specific end goal, but more a true amalgamation of influence and focused frustration that shaped the sound. Thematically, Ruined comments on humanity’s perpetual ability for self-destruction, both in solitude and in numbers. Willingly ignorant, we are doomed to repeat ourselves through cyclical consumerism.”

Drawing influence from acts like All Shall Perish, August Burns Red, and The Black Dahlia Murder, PROTOSEQUENCE root their music in technicality while layering emotional, yet gruff vocals weaved into every track. The band transitions seamlessly through djent riffs, grinding drums and groove elements, making their sound versatile and ever-changing. Their latest EP “Biophagous” was unleashed during August of 2017 to follow their 2016 debut “Schizophrene”.
