Artillery Reveals New Album, “The Face Of Fear” Details, Posts Music Video Online

November 16th will see Artillery release their new album, “The Face Of Fear” – which is the successor to 2016’s “Penalty By Perception.” “The Face Of Fear” is the band’s 9th studio album, and the third with the current lineup. For a preview of the record, a video for the title track can be viewed below.

“The Face Of Fear” can be pre-ordered in the following formats:

– ltd. Digipak-CD with 2 exclusive bonus tracks
– 180 g black vinyl
– opaque grey blue marbeld vinyl (ltd. 300 – EU-exclusive)
– golden yellow blue marbled vinyl (ltd. 200 – EU-exclusive)
– blue green / white splattered vinyl (ltd. 100 – EMP-exclusive)
– blue/black marbled vinyl (ltd. 300 – US-exclusive)

The lyrics are Artillery as you know them, with subjects concerning the destruction of mankind, double standards, abuse and the looming worst-case scenarios. The Face Of Fear was recorded with long-time producer Soren Andersen at Medley Studios. It’s Soren’s fifth time at the helm, and once again he manages to deliver a monster production.

Soren comments: “Pure and raw! Some of the material of this album was originally written in the early 80’s, and that inspired us to go old school this time. Not too many layers, just classic Artillery thrash metal…And Bastholm is better than ever on this one. This is a no-filler album, created together with the band. I’m really proud of the final result and I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as I do!”

Artillery comments about the video for “The Face Of Fear”: “Most of the scenes for the video were shot at Amager strand park right outside of Copenhagen. And the live scenes go back to when the band visited Japan and played at the Thrash Dominations together with Exodus, Voivod and Sanctuary. The video was shot by the band’s good friend Terkel Christensen, who also did the video ‘When The Magic is Gone’, from the last album, Penalty By Perception. The song is about dealing the end of man by himself. We create our own phobia about the destruction of the world, but remain disrespectful to the globe.”

The Face Of Fear tracklisting:

1. The Face Of Fear
2. Crossroads To Conspiracy
3. New Rage
4. Sworn Utopia
5. Through The Ages Of Atrocity
6. Thirst For The Worst
7. Pain

Tygers Of Pan Tang Releasing Self-Titled Album In North America

Tygers Of Pan Tang’s self-titled new album is finally coming to North American for fans on February 24th. Following an already successful European launch, band founder/guitarist Robb Weir notes, “its been 34 years since a USA Tygers release and we are super excited to give you this one… it’s a monster!”

Who would have predicted that 2016 would turn out to be the most productively successful year since their early days for a band whose history stretches back to the birth of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal?

The year began the signing of a new record deal with Scandinavia’ Mighty Music. Whilst the band was happy to produce at The Blast Studio in Newcastle, the Tygers knew that the mix needed a fresh pair of ears.

Mighty Music CEO Michael H. Andersen recommended Soren Andersen/Medley Studio for the mixing. Soren was only too happy to work with a band whose credentials were so firmly established. For the mastering, Harry Hess of Harem Scarem fame was the perfect man for the job.

Leaving the music in his capable hands, next stop was South America. Having no idea what reception would be received, they were overwhelmed by the fierce dedication of the fans in Brazil and Columbia, who, in many cases, had waited years for an opportunity to witness the live show. From South America to Europe without a breath and then on to North America where they headlined Chicago’s Ragnarokkr festival.

Weir notes, “once in a while there comes a special time, a period where you feel it’s all finally coming together and that time I’m proud to say is now.”

“A logical follow up to 2013′s engaging ‘Legions‘, ‘Penalty by Perception‘ proves Artillery‘s firm grip on a semi-technically advanced brand of thrash puts them in an elite but probable cult niche – which will be cool enough for those who want more musical bite and sophistication to appreciate.”DeadRhetoric.com (USA)

“For me, this is the best Artillery album so far. Thrash bands with proper (considering the classic metal template) singers are few and far between, after all!”Metal Hammer (Germany)

ARTILLERY posts video with studio footage of recordings for new album ‘Legions’!

– October 14th, 2013 –

Danish thrash act ARTILLERY have just posted a video on their youtube with inside-the-studio footage from the Legions recording sessions. Click HERE to check it out!

Comments Legions producer Soren Andersen: “If you’re a hardcore Artillery fan, you won´t be disappointed when you hear the forth coming album. Classic Artillery, but with new elements. A new drummer, a new singer, 10 new songs, great lyrics, killer riffs etc… We did the album in 3 weeks, without looking back. There is so much new energy this time, and the band plays better than ever. One reason: They are touring more than ever. This is a real metal band that plays real music for the right reason. They don’t give a damn about the fame, the look or the party… It’s all about the music. That’s how I see them, and that’s the vibe when we are working together. The new drummer Jos is a monster drummer with feel, swing, attitude and skills. I find that very giving for the band, and he’s a great guy, too. Likewise, Michael fits the band perfectly. His voice is very big and very classic. He has his own perfect spot between Soren and Flemming, and again: Great lyrics! Hope you’ll enjoy the album as much as I did in the process of the creation!”

Make sure to head over to the landing page at www.metalblade.com/artillery where you can stream the first single Chill My Bones and check out the pre-order options for Legions!

Denmark’s ARTILLERY is one of Europe’s earliest proponents of thrash metal, and the band’s contribution to the bourgeoning genre cannot be denied. The Danish quartet successfully managed to fuse an abrasive brutality with technicality and strong melodies, with the noteworthy guitar leads of the Stützer-brothers serving as highlights.

ARTILLERY was formed in the Copenhagen suburb of Taastrup, Denmark in 1982 by Michael and Morten Stützer. Since then ARTILLERY have gone thru numerous line-up changes and released six studio longplayers. The first period of ARTILLERY´s existence gave the World the three classic albums Fear of Tomorrow, Terror Squad and By Inheritance featuring some of the finest moments of Thrash Metal Europe has ever put out.

After an eight-year hiatus ARTILLERY returned in style in 1999, sounding as fresh and hungry as ever before without sounding like one of those nostalgia acts. The three albums B.A.C.K., When Death Comes and My Blood put ARTILLERY not only back on the map, but also to the top of their genre.

Since the release of their last album My Blood in 2011 ARTILLERY have played European and South American tours and appeared at several festivals and the Barge To Hell cruise. In 2012 ARTILLERY saw the departure of Carsten N. Nielsen and Søren Adamsen. Two new members were recruited, making Josua Madsen the new drummer and Michael Bastholm Dahl the new singer.
