Harm’s Way reveals details for new album, ‘Posthuman’

– December 6th, 2017 –

Launches first single, “Human Carrying Capacity”

On February 9th, Harm’s Way will release their new album, Posthuman. Having grown with each subsequent release, Posthuman, the band’s fourth full-length – and Metal Blade Records debut – is a devastating addition to their catalog. “We’ve always stayed true to who we are and allowed the songwriting process to take shape organically from record to record, and as the band has progressed, our sound has become more refined with metal and industrial influences,” states drummer Chris Mills, while guitarist Bo Lueders succinctly sums up what people can expect when they first spin the record: “To a Harm’s Way fan, I would describe ‘Posthuman‘ as a blend of ‘Isolation‘(2011) and ‘Rust‘ (2015), but it’s sonically way more insane. To anyone else, I would simply say it’s full on heavy and full on aggression.”

For a first preview of Posthuman, the single “Human Carrying Capacity” can be streamed at: metalblade.com/harmsway – where the record can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:

With producer Putney overseeing the tracking at Graphic Nature Audio in Belleville, New Jersey, Posthuman came together easily and fluidly. Having three weeks to track it – the longest they have ever spent on a single full-length – was definitely beneficial. “We spent the first three days there doing pre-production and refining the songs to be the best possible versions of themselves,” says Mills. “The amount of time we had in creating this record meant we were able to experiment and not have to rush with any aspect of it, and I feel it shows in the end product.” The title, Posthuman, aptly summarizes the themes of the record, reflecting a sense of not feeling like a part of the world anymore, whether that be politically, socially, ethically, or emotionally. “It very much pulls from ideas of transcendence, progression, and resilience”, Mills elaborates, “and it’s very much a push back on traditional ideas of the self and self-actualization. ‘Posthuman‘ to us is about progressing above and beyond the confines of what is considered human, in the physical, psychological, and categorical sense.”

Details Of New Album “Beyond The Rain” Issued BY WildeStarr

WildeStarr – featuring the combined talents of 3 of the most dynamic musicians in heavy metal today: Dave Starr (Vicious Rumors, Chastain) on all guitars & bass, London Wilde on vocals (who many regard as highly as Rob Halford, Dio, and Geoff Tate), and power house Josh Foster on drums – are geared up to release the new album “Beyond the Rain” via Scarlet Records on December 8th.

Through three studio albums (“Arrival,” in 2010; “A Tell Tale Heart,” in 2012; and now with “Beyond The Rain,” in 2017), WildeStarr has established itself as the master of its craft with melodic and aggressive metal full of drama, and conveyed via a huge wall of sound. Husband and wife team Dave Starr and London Wilde have been friends for 30 years, and married for over 15 now. This makes the songwriting and chemistry very special and unique in the world of heavy metal.

“Beyond The Rain” takes the listener on a harrowing ride and emotional roller coaster. Some might think its a concept album, but its actually much more than that. The songs are London Wilde’s lyrical expression of pain, torment, hope, and love based on the real life tragic suicide of her brother Gary in 2012. Gary was a gifted musician who suffered the sad pitfalls of many others who pickup the guitar and dream of success in the music biz. After his death, Gary essentially became a not so silent fourth member of the band, and his presence and spirit was deeply felt throughout the songwriting and recording process.

The track listing is:

1. Metamorphose
2. Beyond The Rain
3. Pressing The Wires
4. Double Red
5. Down Cold
6. Rage And Water
7. Crimson Fifths
8. Undersold
9. From Shadow
10. When The Night Falls

New And Final Album Announced By Thy Serpent’s Cult

On October 27th, Ordo MCM is proud to present the third and final album of Thy Serpent’s Cult, “Supremacy of Chaos.”

Hailing from the cult metal hotbed of Chile, Thy Serpent’s Cult have been a veritable force of nature for nearly 10 years. Forming in 2008, and now gracefully bowing out on a high note, the quartet has skillfully crafted a scorching firestorm of a sound lo these many years, marrying the sulfurous atmosphere of ancient South American black metal to the jackhammering militancy of classic Krisiun, Deicide, and Angelcorpse. Thy Serpent’s Cult released the second album in 2014 under the banner of Ordo MCM. Fittingly titled “Sedition, Sorcery and Blasphemy,” it was a whirlwind of darkness and dread, and was suitably hailed in the underground.

But now, sensing the end was nigh, Thy Serpent’s Cult unleash the foulest and most dread energies with “Supremacy of Chaos.” Once again fittingly titled, “Supremacy of Chaos” reaps a hellish harvest of tornado-torn death metal, deeply and diabolically suffused with a tangibly occult aura. Here, Thy Serpent’s Cult span all their trademark traits – martial surge, swirling vortex, boiling pressure – and send them deeper into the bowels of Hell. The title “Supremacy of Chaos” is telling, in that the band do indeed hail the supreme powers of chaos; and yet, in other ways, their songwriting is strict and finessed and hardly a chaotic thing. Nevertheless, with a production that ably balances the blood-red raw and robustly professional, Thy Serpent’s Cult smother the senses with an overwhelming onslaught, thereby instilling a sensation of imminent chaos.

And as its last notes ring out, “Supremacy of Chaos” seals the coffin on Thy Serpent’s Cult and preserves a legacy that will remain untarnished. Hail the old gods!

In the leadup to the album’s release, a special lyric video for “Into the Depths of Hell” can be viewed below. Cover and track listing are as follows:

1. Supremacy of Chaos
2. Diabolic Force
3. The Goddess of the Lust
4. Into the Depths of Hell
5. Pedophilac Priest
6. Apocalyptic Horse of War
7. Endless Hate
8. Satanic Rites of Blood
9. Real of Satan
10. Necrophago
11. Leviathan

Orthodox Streams New Track “I’m Scared Of You”

A scathing new track has come online from Nashville’s own Orthodox: check out the hyperkinetic “I’m Scared Of You” below. The track is the first dose to be administered from forthcoming album, “Sounds Of Loss,” to be released via Unbeaten Records (Left Behind, Stigmata, Purgatory) on 5/26/17.

Centered on the songwriting team of Adam Easterling (vocals, drums) and Tyler Williams (guitar, bass) Orthodox is quite an anomaly. Though identifying as a straight edge band, the group is unabashedly metal in sound and influences range from death metal down to more mainstream hard ‘n heavy sounds.

Speaking on those influences, Easterling said: “When Orthodox was formed I was still in high school. Our early material was really influenced by groups like the hardcore band, Foundation. However as time wore on, we realized we were much bigger metal heads than the hardcore/punk associated with straight edge. We just focused on writing the music we wanted to hear.”

New release “Sounds Of Loss” is a concept album, with Easterling explaining: “The entire album is centered on the theme of anticipated grief. It’s preparing for the loss of loved ones, people around you due to various reasons including addiction and illness. I tried to write about the strain that grief and loss have mentally, physically and even on your faith. Musically Tyler and I strove to have the music reflect what the topic is. For example ‘I’m Scared Of You’ was written to express what fear would actually sound like within the musical context of our band.”
