Candiria Announces “Beyond Reasonable Doubt” 20th Anniversary Tour

Candiria will be hitting the road for a spate of headline dates commemorating 20-plus years of their critically acclaimed sophomore album, “Beyond Reasonable Doubt.”

The tour kicks off on April 20 in Long Island and will feature support from Cleric on most dates. The trek will take the band through the Northeast and the Midwest. It also includes an appearance at the annual New England Metal and Hardcore Fest. The band will also play two shows supporting Killswitch Engage. Additional dates will be added and all confirmed dates are below.

The band has crafted a special set list for the tour to celebrate the definitive “Beyond Reasonable Doubt” album. At the shows, Candiria will also be selling a special Collector’s Edition of “Beyond Reasonable Doubt.” This version is packed with memorabilia and imagery from the period in which the band was writing, recording, and supporting the album. It also boasts newly revised artwork, audio taken from the original 1997 masters, and a forward by original drummer Ken Schalk.

Additionally, vocalist Carley Coma has also launched a series of videos for the band’s latest album “While They Were Sleeping.” The series dives deep into the story behind the album’s concept. New videos for each track are revealed in sequence each week. The latest clip, for the eighth track on the album “The Whole World Will Burn,” can be seen here:

New Album “Volition” On The Way From Death Rattle

Five years ago, New Hampshire-based groove-thrash band Death Rattle self-released the debut album “Man’s Ruin,” which served as a striking introduction to the fist-in-face outfit that channeled the musical styles of the band members’ favorite bands into sharp-taloned songs that sunk deep. Back, refreshed and heavier than ever, Death Rattle returns with the sophomore full-length album “Volition,” which set for independent release on October 20th. The album is available for pre-order now via Big Cartel – more pre-order options are coming soon!

Watch a brand new Emvison Productions-directed music video for Death Rattle’s politically-minded new single “Love and War,” now via Metal Insider at this location, or in the player below.

Death Rattle performs thrash with a purpose – music that emphasizes groove and lethal riffage over speed and interchangeable guitar parts. It’s a sound bred from the attitude and angst of New England, a region that has faced economic and social strife and frustration time and again. Yet every time it lowers its head and pushes forward, obstacles be damned.

“‘Volition’ is the act of using free will to accomplish something,” says guitarist and main songwriter Ryan VanderWolk. “It’s taken a lot of work, but we’ve been able to overcome a lot of obstacles as a band, so the name has meaning that’s very relevant to our experience.”

With more time to work on and fine-tune the songs on the second album, Death Rattle is able to approach each cut from various musical directions to see what worked best. The band recorded the final tracks appearing on “Volition” at Brick Hithouse studio in Cape Cod, MA with engineer Sean Fitzpatrick over the course of several months.

The track list is:

1. Internal Determination
2. Love and War
3. Sentenced to Hell
4. Snake in the Grass
5. Adrenalize
6. Sociopath
7. Order Within Chaos
8. Unfinished Business
9. Doomsday
10. From Blood to Black

Check out “Love and War” here:

In addition to featuring stronger, more original songs, “Volition” features a high-energy performance that effectively captures the frenzied excitement of the band’s high-impact concerts. “We live for playing live and that’s one thing that we spent a lot of time working at as a band,” says VanderWolk. “We love bands that bring their albums to the stage and come alive. We’ve always tried to do that and now we finally have an album that’s worthy of our live show.”

Death Rattle will support the release of “Volition” on the upcoming tour supporting The Convalescence, Wings Denied and Shaping The Legacy. Death Rattle will appear on dates running from October 21 in Placerville, CA through November 18 in Englewood, OH. See below for a full list of tour dates:
