Produced by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Queensryche, Whitechapel, etc.), The Outer Ones sees Revocation pushing both the death metal and progressive elements of their signature sound harder than ever. “I knew that I wanted to go in a darker direction, and this is our most death metal album to date,” states vocalist/guitarist Dave Davidson. “Sometimes when death metal bands go down the prog route they lose some of that edge, but we wanted to keep the aggression at the forefront of what we do while still pushing our boundaries.” Moving away from the societal and historical themes that informed 2016′s Great is Our Sin, this time Davidson has immersed himself in the fantastic, evoking one of the great writers of the sci-fi/horror genre. “The title is my ode to H.P. Lovecraft and the entities of pure cosmic horror that rule that universe he created. Since the new music we were writing was so evil and spacey in sections it seemed to be the right title to fit the overall vibe. But while the lyrical content is largely influenced by such writings, in every allegory there is of course some reflection of the real world, so I enjoy writing in a way that could have one overlaying meaning and then another deeper, symbolic meaning as well.”

Revocation is currently on the road for their first North American headlining tour in several years, with Exhumed, Rivers Of Nihil, and Yautja as support. Following this trek, Revocation will kick off their first European headliner ever in November, featuring Archspire, Soreption – and labelmates Rivers Of Nihil once again. See below for all dates!

Death/Black metallers Hate from Poland sign to Metal Blade Records

– July 12th, 2018 –

First new song now available

Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of Hate, the glorious death/black metal force hailing from Warsaw, Poland.

Hate have been praised by press and fans alike for years for creating lacerating and dark music, proven best on their current album, Tremendum (2017). The album saw ATF Sinner (vocals, guitars) utilize the dark aspects of the mystic and arcane Slavonic folklore to explore themes both personal and impersonal. It is an album that is relatable at first listen, but that is hard to fully know.

In 2018, we find Hate as ever, advancing. In preparation for what might be their most fruitful endeavor so far, to collaborate with the home of American metal, Metal Blade Records. “‘You are judged by the company you keep’, the saying goes – and if that is true, then we shall be judged extremely favourably. We are very proud to announce our signing to Metal Blade Records, a label that is as synonymous with metal as the invention of the distortion pedal. This signing could not have come at a better timing, as it coincides with an opening of a new chapter in the band’s history. Beginning with the release of 2017′s ‘Tremendum’, Hate has been on a journey towards new, even darker horizons, and we’re confident that this step will help us in reaching these goals. Our first collaboration is already well underway and plans have already been laid down to enter the studio in December of this year, with a tentative release date for mid-2019. Come, bear witness and join us on this journey”, comments the band’s front-man ATF Sinner.

Primordial: ‘Spirit the Earth Aflame’ and ‘Storm Before Calm’ LP re-issues (with new artwork) now available via Metal Blade Records

– June 6th, 2018 –

Out of print for awhile, two classic Primordial albums will be re-issued on vinyl on July 13th: Spirit The Earth Aflame and Storm Before Calm! These are without a doubt the best vinyl versions you will get from these titles! Both albums have been remastered by Patrick W. Engel for the best sound quality possible and include posters.

Primordial comments: “Finally after a long, long time we are able to announce the vinyl re-issues of both our third album, ‘Spirit The Earth Aflame‘, and fourth, ‘Storm Before Calm‘, treated with the respect they deserve after all these years, and those are many years indeed! Remastered for vinyl with restored and complete artwork and finally an aesthetic vision that compliments, defines and emboldens the music instead of the cheap, instant and nasty version that appeared all those years ago – and a special mention to ‘Storm…‘, which now has the proper artwork it was always meant to have! We are proud to stand behind these versions and to realize an ambition long held by the band to give people the definitive vinyl versions of these albums!”

Primordial releases track-by-track commentary video from singer A.A. Nemtheanga about new album ‘Exile Amongst The Ruins’

– April 3rd, 2018 –

Irish Pagan Metal Gods Primordial have just released their new album, Exile Amongst The Ruins, last Friday through Metal Blade Records. Now the band has released a video – directed by Costin Chioreanu – in which singer A.A. Nemtheanga talks about the lyrical content of each track on the album – which can be viewed here: youtube.com/watch?v=7lqAPWv-0wo

To preview and purchase Exile Amongst The Ruins, please visit: metalblade.com/primordial

Once again building upon their signature sound, the follow up to 2014′s Where Greater Men Have Fallen is a more raw, “old school sounding” record than its predecessor. Hitting home with what vocalist A.A. Nemtheanga describes as “a direct energy” and wielding an urgency that is undeniable, the Irish quintet once again effortlessly blend elements of tragedy and might like no one else. Likewise, the evolution in their sound continues to be organic and unforced, ensuring that Exile Amongst The Ruins is essential listening for both their long term faithful and those only now drawn into their world.
