Ketzer reveals details for new album, ‘Cloud Collider’

– February 13th, 2019 –

Launches first single, ‘No Stories Left’

On April 12th, German extreme metallers Ketzer will release their fourth full-length, Cloud Collider, via Metal Blade Records.

Looking on Ketzer‘s musical history, change is what has always defined their sound. From thrashing riffs to atmospheric blackened tunes, Ketzer is a band that has always aimed to defy genres. So what can we expect on Cloud Collider? Nothing more than a ride on a storm cloud, followed by a soft breeze in your face and, finally, a cleansing rainfall. Ketzer‘s fourth effort will surprise many as a shift into yet another direction, combining many of the band’s essential trademarks and carrying them one step further: Raging drum beats, harsh and powerfully thrashing riffs, as well as epic melodies that will haunt you long after the last tone has faded away. After years of intense work, Ketzer have created an album that can only be described as a milestone in their career and a clean break from all expectations: this album is a storm.

For three years now, Ketzer has been working on something new, and the result is something new indeed: somehow linking all trademarks essential to the sound of Ketzer, now and then, but taking it all one big step further. These new tunes might well be the strongest Ketzer songs to date. Recorded at Markus Stock’s infamous “Klangschmiede Studio E” as well as Laurent Teubls “Sculpt Sound Studios” in autumn 2018, the suitable visual expression for this new effort has been found by cover artist Adam Burke and illustrator Johannes Stahl.

Ketzer checked in with the following comment about Cloud Collider: “Lately, we have been possessed by storms. First there is a breeze, then the sky darkens: A sense of electric energy starts to fill the air. A sense of sheer power, building up, waiting to erupt. ‘Cloud Collider‘ will strike you like a force of nature. When recording an album after months of hard work, blood and sweat, it is always our greatest wish, accompanied by the most terrifying fears, that the recordings will be able to ‘catch’ the songs and their certain, special spark. When we hear the final result for the first time, we have to think: ‘THIS is how the next chapter must sound’. Only then, we can be satisfied. With all the more pride and joy we can now say about ‘Cloud Collider‘, that both is the case, and it is without a single doubt! THIS is how Ketzer has to sound in 2019! It is new and it is old and it is everything. It is fast and it is slow and we just can’t wait to bring these songs to the stage. This album is a piece of work that we feel embodies all aspects that stand and stood for the sound of Ketzer now and then. An album that manages to still go one step further to form something new!”

The album’s first single, “No Stories Left”, comes with a special guest appearance by the legendary Proscriptor McGovern of Absu fame, who not only lent his striking voice to the track, but also added the following comment: “It is with inordinate honor to announce my co-vocalist appearance on ‘No Stories Left’: the first single to be issued on Ketzer‘s upcoming album ‘Cloud Collider‘. What I contemplate = I uproariously touch with voice. What I enter into imagination = I make myself one with; however, a tower can fall twice.”

The new opus, bearing the working title Salve Ignis, is tentatively slated for summer 2019 and will be the band’s debut collaboration with the legendary Metal Blade Records. Death/Black metallers Hate from Poland sign to Metal Blade Records

– July 12th, 2018 –

First new song now available

Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of Hate, the glorious death/black metal force hailing from Warsaw, Poland.

Hate have been praised by press and fans alike for years for creating lacerating and dark music, proven best on their current album, Tremendum (2017). The album saw ATF Sinner (vocals, guitars) utilize the dark aspects of the mystic and arcane Slavonic folklore to explore themes both personal and impersonal. It is an album that is relatable at first listen, but that is hard to fully know.

In 2018, we find Hate as ever, advancing. In preparation for what might be their most fruitful endeavor so far, to collaborate with the home of American metal, Metal Blade Records. “‘You are judged by the company you keep’, the saying goes – and if that is true, then we shall be judged extremely favourably. We are very proud to announce our signing to Metal Blade Records, a label that is as synonymous with metal as the invention of the distortion pedal. This signing could not have come at a better timing, as it coincides with an opening of a new chapter in the band’s history. Beginning with the release of 2017′s ‘Tremendum’, Hate has been on a journey towards new, even darker horizons, and we’re confident that this step will help us in reaching these goals. Our first collaboration is already well underway and plans have already been laid down to enter the studio in December of this year, with a tentative release date for mid-2019. Come, bear witness and join us on this journey”, comments the band’s front-man ATF Sinner.

Epic melodic death metallers Nothgard sign to Metal Blade Records

– April 10th, 2018 –

Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the addition of epic melodic death metallers Nothgard from Germany to its roster! The Bavarian quartet has signed a multiple album deal with Metal Blade and is right now in the middle of recording their tentative new album, to be released during the second half of 2018!

Comments Nothgard singer/guitarist Dom R. Crey: “We are really happy to announce the signing with the renowned label Metal Blade Records. For years we have had an eye on the countless and fantastic releases Metal Blade has launched. Eventually we can call ourselves part of this family, something that makes us really proud. We are looking forward to a great collaboration and cannot wait to usher into a new era of Nothgard.”

Dom is also presenting us an outlook on the upcoming new Nothgard album: “This exciting chapter will be initiated by a new studio album! In the history of the band we have never worked harder on an album. And to be honest we never had a clearer view on our approach of composing and on our sound. We listened to both, our fans and ourselves. We have clearly analyzed our strength and how to transfer this awareness to our material. Right now tons of work are still laying ahead of us and in the end our fans will judge the result. But let me tell you: As a band we are more than happy about the outcome so far and can’t wait to present it to the rest of the World!”

Founded in 2008 by singer and lead guitarist Dom R. Crey, Nothgard dragged along the winning ways since their debut album, Warhorns Of Midgard, from 2011. The high technical quality of their guitar work and the epic orchestration of their melodic death metal is exciting to fans and critics alike. In 2014, the band released another epic milestone of deadly metal, memorable melodies and influences from both neo-classical and folk music called Age Of Pandora. After the release, Nothgard finally signed to Noise Art Records who released the band’s latest album, The Sinner’s Sake, their most serious approach yet to enter the melodic death metal throne. On The Sinner’s Sake, deadly riffs meet playful, catchy lead guitars, while the epic orchestration arranges for a cinematic atmosphere that will bring goosebumps to your skin! Completed by Dom R. Crey’s raw vocals, Nothgard‘s sound is both stormy-spectacular and full of a sublime atmosphere. With The Sinner’s Sake, Nothgard set off into the most spectacular chapter in the band’s history so far. And the best is yet to come!

Nothgard line-up:
Dom R. Crey – Vocals, Lead Guitar, Studio Keyboards
Skaahl – Guitars
Nico Kolja – Bass
Felix Indra – Drums

Nothgard live:
May 20 – Leipzig, Germany – Wave Gotik Treffen
June 14 – Uttenhofen, Germany – Aaargh Festival
July 5 – Ballenstedt, Germany – Rockharz Open Air
July 15 – Manrode, Germany – Fest Evil Manrode 2018
Aug. 24 – Cham, Germany – Mosh Open Air 2018

Jorn Releasing New Album “Life On Death Road”

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to announce the release of Jorn’s brand new studio album, entitled “Life on Death Road,” this coming June 2nd, 2017.

“Life On Death Road” took several months of hard work for the songwriting vision to come together. The result is a record that is deep, strong, full of groove and powerful with anthemic songs aplenty.

Jorn says, “It’s easily one of the best albums I’ve ever recorded. This was all about putting the right people together for the right result, and about taking the necessary time to work more thoroughly and in depth with the material we chose for the album. The older I get, the more I feel it is necessary to listen to my heart and look for that genuine and honest feeling that made me take interest in music in the first place. Back in the 70’s and early 80’s when I grew up, people and music were more free and so the presence of feeling and soul came more naturally and was expected from an artist or a band.

“This is the energy and craftmanship we’ve been looking for, but still keeping a pulse on the modern times we live in. ‘Life On Death Road’ is an original album that is pretty much summing up the last 40-50 years of rock and metal and has become a hybrid modern heavy rock album without losing those tasty elements of a good aged wine. Regardless, we’re all products of our time, and the feeling, soul and symbioses we’ve achieved for this album is a rarity in today’s music world, so in that sense this album is a true old school sailors’ ‘tall ship adventure.’ From start to finish it took us nearly three years to finalize and I’m really proud to say that this album is the proof that classic albums can still be made.”

The album also marks the debut of a new lineup around the Norwegian singer. On bass is Mat Sinner (Primal Fear, Sinner, Kiske/Somerville). On keyboards and production is Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Revolution Saints), who already joined Jorn for the recording of his last covers album, “Heavy Rock Radio. Francesco Iovino (Primal Fear) is on drums and Alex Beyrodt (Primal Fear, Voodoo Circle) handles guitar.

1. Life On Death Road
2. Hammered To The Cross (The Business)
3. Love Is The Remedy
4. Dreamwalker
5. Fire To The Sun
6. Insoluble Maze (Dreams In The Blindness)
7. I Walked Away
8. The Slippery Slope (Hangman’s Rope)
