Hell Night Premieres New Song “Feed Hate” From Upcoming New 7-Song EP “Human Shelves”

Hell Night premieres a new song entitled “Feed Hate”, taken from the upcoming new 7-song EP “Human Shelves”, which will be out in stores this fall. Shadows Fall vocalist Brian Fair has recently joined the band. Hell Night will play its first live show with Fair at the Food Bar Lounge in St. Louis, MO on August 18th.

Spandex & Big Hair Photos Wanted By Riot V For “Take Me Back” Video

Legendary New York act Riot V, founded by the late Mark Reale, is looking for you to appear in the upcoming new music video “Take Me Back.” Well, the you of your youth – back when hair was a bigger, cans of Aqua Net flew off the shelves and high school attire consisted of spandex and ripped jeans. Send those embarrassing moments to: The deadline for submissions is August 14th.

“Take Me Back” is taken from the latest album “Unleash the Fire,” which is available now through SPV/Steamhammer Records. Check out our review of the disc at this location.

The band comments: “We know you have a photo or two from back in the day. Photos that you might be a little embarrassed to show, where you had big hair and spandex pants. We want a copy of that photo along with a current photo of you for use in our upcoming video for the song ‘Take Me Back’!

“Not that Riot V vocalist Todd Michael Hall loves to be embarrassed, but see his example photos. You do not have to format them for us. We will do that. Just send us two individual files, one from back in the day and one from now, and we will do the rest. Email us your photos to by August 14th.

Monolord Releasing New Album “Vænir”

The new full length from Monolord is called “Vænir” (named after the biggest lake in Sweden) and is due out April 28th, 2015. Riding Easy Records comments:

“The record comes in with 6 songs over 48 mins of bone crushing mother fuckin DOOM! The song ‘Cursing The One’ was teased on Xmas Day, now that the record is off to press we figured y’all deserved to have 1 song from the follow up to Empress Rising.

“Vænir won’t be on the shelves until the end of April, but do not fret… you will be able to purchase a 12? single with Cursing The One on the A side and the Black Sabbath cover ‘Fairies Wear Boots’ that you can hear on the Cvlt Nation Paranoid comp that came out this summer.”

Saille Posts “Eldritch” Recording Studio Footage

Belgian epic black metal outfit Saille is only a few weeks away from releasing brand new record, “Eldritch,” which will hit the shelves on November 10th via Code666 Records. Be sure to check out our review of the symphonic black metal beast over here.

Over the last few weeks the band has been offering fans insight into the recording process via a series of studio videos. Check ’em all out below.

“‘Eldritch’ differs quite a bit from our two previous albums,” keyboardist Dries Gaerdelen begins. “We wanted the new songs to be more guitar oriented and more edgy, so we worked on the songs in a different way than we used to. Guitar players Reinier Schenk and Jonathan Vanderwal started writing the songs from a guitar perspective adding the keyboards and drums later on. On our two previous albums ‘Ritu’ and ‘Irreversible Decay’ the songs were created the other way around.”

Sonata Arctica DVD "Live In Finland" Hits #1 On Finnish Charts

Finnish melodic metallers Sonata Arctica have hit the official Finnish DVD charts at #1 with their latest effort “Live In Finland.” Henrik Klingenberg commented:

“Once again our fans came through and ripped the DVD off the shelves, resulting in the no.1 position on the Finnish DVD charts ! We’re very happy about this and send out our sincere thanks to all of you. It’s always very inspiring to get these kind of news, especially now when we’re working our asses off in the studio with our next album which will be out this spring.”

“Live In Finland” shows a full gig played on the 15th of April 2011 in Club Teatria in Oulu, Finland. The enclosed bonus CD features eight audio recordings of the open-air concert to put the final touches on the release. You can pick up your copy here.

Metallica And Lou Reed Reveals New Record Release Date

Heavy metal superstars Metallica and music icon Lou Reed have announced that their forthcoming collaboration album will be released on November 1st in North America, while it will hit the shelves in the rest of the world a day earlier on October 31st.

No further information is known about the project at this time, but will be revealed as soon as it becomes available.

Morbid Angel Delays New Album "Illud Divinum Insanus" Canadian Release Date

American death metal legends Morbid Angel have announced that their long awaited new studio album, “llud Divinum Insanus” (reviewed here), will not be released tomorrow in Canada as originally planned due to “unforeseen shipping problems.”

The new Canadian release date has been set for June 21st. The album was released today in Europe and will hit the shelves in the United States of America tomorrow.
