Within Temptation Posts New Lyric Video “Raise Your Banner” Online

Within Temptation will release their seventh album, “Resist,” on December 14th via Spinefarm Records/Universal Music. You can watch a lyric video for the song “Raise Your Banner”, featuring In Flames vocalist Anders Fridén, below.

“Resist” marks a departure from the Within Temptation’s past. The record is armed with 10 anthemic tracks, driven by grand melodies and dark hooks. It brings a futuristic take on metal to the table – both instrumentally and thematically.

“Resist is a true milestone for us. If it wasn’t for Resist, Within Temptation wouldn’t be here anymore,” the band stated.

“With this record, we’ve taken inspiration from modern music and gave it a face – a very dark one,” said singer Sharon den Adel. “Sometimes, it feels that today’s pop music lacks a rebellious edge. Our main goal was to collect pieces from sounds we did like and roughen it up as much as we could, resulting in a surprisingly new musical world that is heavier, dirtier and more futuristic than we’ve ever created before. Resist is our take on metal in a new way: to give modern music its rebellious edge.”

Crimfall comments: “Before we unleash the third storm that is ‘Amain‘, we present you our very first music video. ‘Until Falls The Rain’ is the crushing conclusion for the album, last simmering truths are laid low, throats bared against the unforgiving fall. It was a long day of drowning under homemade sprinklers, shooing away fire brigades and mopping away thousand lakes of water. In the end we are more than satisfied with the forlorn end result.”

The video was directed by Olli Hakkinen and shot by Max Smeds.

For more previews of Amain, both singles “The Last of Stands” and “Mother Of Unbelievers” can be heard at: metalblade.com/crimfall – where the record can be pre-ordered in the following formats:

Featuring music that spans from monumental orchestrations to songs whispered over fading pyres, Amain contains layers upon layers of grand melodies woven between jagged shadows. Crimfall comments: “We couldn’t be happier to publish a meaty sample from our forthcoming album. This MASSIVE six years of production is finally seeing the light of day and we are more than proud about what we have accomplished. At the same time we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all those dozens of volunteers who have been contributing and helping us to see it through one more battle in Crimfall history. The first single ‘The Last of Stands’ represents the most vigorous and pompous side of the album. Expect to be steamrolled from the first note as we unleash the frustration of past years in a single unforgiving assault. Victory or death!”
