Septicflesh Films Mexican Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX Show For DVD

Last Saturday, Greek symphonic death metal outfit, Septicflesh, delivered a historic sold out performance at the Metropolitan Theater in Mexico City. The unforgettable night, entitled Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX, was the largest production of its kind at the venue which included the band and over 130 musicians from the Symphonic Orchestra and National University Of Mexico Children’s and Youth Choir. If you weren’t one of the 3, 200 attendees, rest assured that you will be able to witness the achievement as live footage of the event was captured for a future DVD release.

Septicflesh’s unique blend of symphonic arrangements, avantgarde elements, atmosphere and eviscerating extreme metal has been converting legions into fans since the 90s. Now, with a streak of modern classic albums under their belt such as “Sumerian Daemons” (2002), “Communion” (2008), “The Great Mass” (2011), “Titan” (2014), and now “Codex Omega” (2017) there seems to be no stopping this creative juggernaut.

Septicflesh’s latest album “Codex Omega” is the first to feature former Decapitated drummer Kerim “Krimh” Lechner. Months of hard work and experimentation crafted the album, and resulted in 10 compositions of dark sonic bliss. Lyrically and musically, “Codex Omega” is by far the most infernal release of Septicflesh to date. The album was produced by highly acclaimed metal producer, Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amom Amarth, Kreator). Besides the orchestral side represented once again by the Filmharmonic Orchestra of Prague, the band utilized traditional instruments such as Oud and Duduk and also a 12 string electro-acoustic guitar, enhancing the mystical atmosphere of the compositions. Of course as always, Codex Omega is dominated by the relentless death guitar riffing and the pale melodies that are the trademark of Septicflesh.

Greek symphonic death metal veterans Septicflesh has posted a new music video online for the song, “Martyr.” You can check it out below. The song comes from the band’s latest album, “Codex Omega,” which was released last year through Season Of Mist Records and is the second song to receive the music video treatment after, “Portrait Of A Headless Man,” which was also directed by Jon Simvonis. Speaking about the video and it’s kendo theme, the band stated:

“We are welcoming the new year by releasing a second video from our latest album, ‘Codex Omega’ – this time for the song, ‘Martyr’. Once again the clip is directed by Jon Simvonis, blending the music of Septicflesh with Kendo, which literally means ‘the way of the sword’. It is a battle of sword and spirit. The ultimate goal of the fighter is to become superior to his own previous self.”

Director Jon Simvonis adds: “We really had an awesome time filming Septicflesh while they were delivering an explosive performance for the ‘Martyr’ video! No wonder, why this band nails it on every stage that they set foot on.”

Septicflesh Posts “The Enemy Of Truth” Lyric Video

Today the Greek demons from Septicflesh unveil a lyric video for “The Enemy Of Truth,” taken off impending album “Codex Omega” that will drop September 1st, 2017. The band comments:

“In the past it was much easier for someone in a position of power to silence an ‘irritating’ mouth. In our age, with the evolution of communication and the high speed that information can be spread to the 4 corners of the world, new elaborate methods are being employed.

“And many claim to fight in the name of truth, but essentially they fight against it… Many voices making noise vs few voices speaking clearly. Can this turn the other way around? Listen to ‘Enemy of Truth’ below!

Fall Of Summer 2017 Adds Septicflesh, Melechesh, And More

The Fall Of Summer 2017 team is excited to reveal four new bands to this year’s impending lineup. The organizers of the fest issued this statement:

“First of all, we’re glad that the Greek symphonic death metal band Septicflesh will celebrate the release of new album, ‘Codex Omega,’ with us at Fall Of Summer. The album will be out on September 1st via the French label Season Of Mist, you’ll have one week to revise before the festival so don’t miss it.

“Here is another event: American death metal pioneers Immolation are back in the Paris area after five years which seemed like a decade. Stronger than ever, they will offer you their mighty riffs and a killer show as always!

“They will be joined by Melechesh. Somewhere between black, death metal and oriental music, these Israelis will provide you with both mysticism and sonic chaos. Last but not least, they haven’t visited France much since their creation, almost 20 years ago, but we are glad to welcome Azarath, proudly led by Inferno, Behemoth’s drummer, who promises you a kickass performance.”
