Gama Bomb Posts New Lyric Video, “666teen” Online

Irish thrashers Gama Bomb have released a face-melting animated lyric video for new single “666teen.” The blistering track is the first single from the band’s sixth album Speed Between The Lines, out October 12th on AFM Records.

The album’s retro cover art is by New York-based artist Jarred Hageman AKA Chrome And Lightning and Rory McGuigan (Villagers), and the video also features scenes from 1950s public information movies.

The album was produced by longtime Gama Bomb collaborator Scott Atkins (Cradle of Filth, Sylosis).
“The title just popped into my head one night,” explains singer Philly Byrne. “I’d been listening to a lot of 50s rock and doo-wop, songs like Sixteen Candles and Sweet Little Sixteen, and it just kinda morphed into this idea: what if somebody wrote a Satanic teen rebellion song?”
Bassist Joe McGuigan on Speed Between The Lines: “Our aim with this record was keep refining the GAMA BOMB thrash formula. It’s got faster and more punky riffing, battling axes and catchy, memorable choruses from Philly, who’s back with the Halford / Belladona notes after injuring his voice a few years back.”

The digital single’s cover is inspired by vintage paperback novels, featuring art from James Blish’s horror classic Black Easter.

“Speed Between The Lines,” released by AFM Records on October 12th 2018, is the sixth studio album from the band in 16 years. The album will be available as CD, clear yellow gatefold Vinyl (ltd. to 250 units), turquoise gatefold Vinyl (ltd. to 250 units), clear/red gatefold and vinyl red/black splatter (ltd. to 100 units) which is exclusively available in the AFM webshop.

Savage Messiah To Enter The Recording Studio

Savage Messiah has confirmed plans to enter the studio on July 1st to begin recording an as-yet untitled new studio album.

The band will be working on the follow-up to 2012’s “Plague of Conscience” with producer Scott Atkins (Sylosis, Behemoth) at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk. Savage Messiah frontman Dave Silver comments:

“We’re beyond excited to be fast approaching the day when we’ll head off back into Grindstone Studios, to work once more with Scott Atkins on what we can promise will be the most metal Savage Messiah CD yet! We’ve approached the writing process in a totally old school manner; just four guys in a rehearsal space getting a vibe going, playing heavy metal! Which has really allowed us to express the chemistry within the band and build on the musical foundation we laid with ‘Plague of Conscience’.

“We’re pleased to be working with Scott Atkins for the third time, as he understands the band and has always delivered above and beyond for us and we’ve no doubt that he’ll get the best out of us once again. We’ll be releasing titles, track listings, artwork etc. in due course. In the meantime, look out for plenty of studio video updates which we’ll be posting over at our official YouTube channel. So stay tuned!”

Arceye Posts New Album “At First Light” Behind The Scenes Footage

U.K. death thrashers Arceye have posted the final installment of their studio blog series that takes the viewer behind the scenes of “At First Light,” the band’s upcoming new album. Check it out below, or watch the previous clip in the series at this location.

States the band: “This is the final video which shows us setting up our own mobile Pro Tools setup to record guitars, bass and vocals. We recorded everything at a few locations including our practice room. Doing it this way meant that we could take our time and get the performances we wanted without the pressure of daily studio costs. When we had finished we sent it all off to Scott Atkins (Sylosis, Cradle Of Filth, Amon Amarth, Gama Bomb) at Grindstone Studios to re-amp, mix and master it.”

The video also shows the artwork process that was undertaken by the bands drummer Craig Mackay. “Craig painted the front cover and all of the portraits. These were then scanned into the computer and Craig finished off the final artwork layouts and text. Even though this was a fairly long process we always wanted to put together a great album package, which included the artwork as well as the music within. We believe we have achieved this and are very proud of the finished product. We hope everyone else agrees.”

Cradle Of Filth Reveals Track Listing For New Album "The Manticore And Other Horrors"

U.K. metal act Cradle of Filth has today revealed the track list for the band’s upcoming 10th studio album, “The Manticore and Other Horrors,” due out October 30th in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.

1. The Unveiling of O
2. The Abhorrent
3. For Your Vulgar Delectation
4. Illicitus
5. Manticore
6. Frost On Her Pillow
7. Huge Onyx Wings Behind Despair
8. Pallid Reflection
9. Siding With The Titans
10. Succumb To This
11. Nightmares Of An Ether Drinker
12. Death, The Great Adventure *Deluxe Edition Digipak
13. Sinfonia *Deluxe Edition Digipak

The following press release was issued about the album:

“Recorded in eight weeks at both Springvale and Grindstone studios (where it was also mixed by Scott Atkins), the album is a testament to the longevity of The ‘Filth, as not only does it reek of Cradle’s (feared or revered) brand of delicious metal vamperotica, but this thoroughly modern album places the band firmly in fresh killing fields anew.

“The Manticore and Other Horrors itself possesses an altogether new atmosphere for the band, incorporating a heavier, faster NWOBBM punk vibe that is both current and cruel, blended with ornate orchestration and the quirky immediateness of 2000’s Midian opus. The album’s title can be likened to a bestiary, a collection of stories on monsters – personal demons, Chimeras, literary fiends and world-enslaving entities to blame but a few. Artwork for the impending release comes courtesy of Matthew Vickerstaff of Darkwaveart.”

Commented the band’s infamous front man, Dani Filth, “This is our 10th commandment in metal. We have diversified and kept alive the spirit of this band and breathed it into something that I can proudly say, slays like an absolute motherf**ker. The Manticore is coming… Long live the filth!”
