As vocalist/guitarist Darren Cherry proudly states:

Pentagram Frontman Bobby Liebling Jailed For 18 Months

Bobby Liebling, frontman and sole constant member of American doom metal pioneers Pentagram, has been sentenced by a court in Maryland to spend eighteen months in prison for abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult, upon completion of which, he will be placed on supervised probation for three years. He was arrested in May for his actions and also charged with first degree assault, to which he pleaded not guilty, though he plead guilty to the charge of abuse/neglect of a vulnerable adult, which is believed to be his 87 year old mother. A statement from Pentagram bassist Greg Turley reads as follows:

“2015/2016 were the busiest years ever for Pentagram. New album and a full tour cycle kept us busier than ever and taking us to places we’ve never been and playing bigger shows than I ever imagined. November 2016, Gothenburg, Sweden I knew something was ending, I just didn’t know what…. Dealing with Bobby and his reoccurring demons was bringing us all down. Same story from the past, I know. Honestly, I thought Bobby would end up dying before we played another show. Turns out, he didn’t die, just went off the rails and ended up assaulting his mom. Pretty much the worse thing someone could do in my opinion. He assaults the one and only person that has always taken up for him? Wow! Just horrible.

“He’s now serving time in prison. Looks like he’ll be there for the next 18 months. That’s a lot of time to reflect on bad decisions and bad habits.

“The last six months have been quite a ride, continuing on without Bobby was an easy decision. Fans, investments and commitments all needed to be satisfied so we marched on. The positive support we received, especially from those who have attended the live shows has been truly amazing. Sucks to be put in this situation but we’ve made the best of it and exceeded even our own expectations.

“Don’t know exactly what the future holds BUT the music of Pentagram is much larger than the individuals. Just look at the list of people that have been involved!!! Not only have I had the opportunity to be a part, I’m also one of the biggest fans. I mean, I truly never get burned out on these songs, from Forever My Queen to The Ghoul to City Romance to the last note on Curious Volume. I love them all…

“The “Bobby IS Pentagram” argument baffles me. There is and has always been a great team behind him pushing forward. Sorry to disappoint everyone who thinks Bobby steers the ship… I’ve been fortunate to be the constant for the last 8 years and involved since 1993. There still is an inner drive to move forward and bring the music to whoever will listen. I would love to have Bobby at the front of the stage more than you know, but by his own actions/mistakes, he’s removed himself. I’ve been to see him and keep in regular contact with him and he seems to understand that he “messed up”. Now, he’s got some time to work out his demons and try to make things right.

“What’s next for us? I look to keep moving forward…Thanks for reading and THANKS for your support.

“Greg Turley Peter Campbell”

Lyric Video For New Song “My Temptation” Posted By Sleeping Romance

Sleeping Romance released a lyric video for the new single “My Temptation.” The song appears on the new album “Alba,” which will be released on November 3rd via Napalm Records.

The band is thrilled to unveil their first track and states: “We’re stoked to finally present ‘My Temptation,’ the first single from our upcoming album ‘Alba.’ This is a killer song that represents in a perfect way the new Sleeping Romance sound: epic, symphonic and dramatic atmosphere. Hope you love it! IL METALLO!”

The upcoming album “Alba” leads a journey of orchestral opera arrangements and siren songs; touching, sometimes frightening, but always as personal as can be. Songstress Federica Lanna means every word she sings and Federico Truzzi complements her lovely voice with delicate guitars.

The concept of “Alba,” ‘Dawn’ in Italian, centers around the main character and her life that advances through difficulties, choices and mistakes, and leads the character to a positive growth. The message the concept wants to give is that life is complex, full of obstacles, but there’s always a way forward, and an opportunity for everyone to reach what their heart desire.

The full track listing is:

1. Overture – Twilight
2. Where The Light Is Bleeding
3. Lost In My Eyes
4. Touch The Sun
5. Forgiveness
6. My Temptation
7. Across The Sea
8. Everything Behind
9. Through The Looking Glass
10. Alba
11. Underture – Daylight

Primordial launches live version of “Wield Lightning to Split the Sun” via NoCleanSinging.com

– November 17th, 2016 –

Irish pagan metallers Primordial have announced the release of the first live album in the band’s history: Gods To The Godless (Live at Bang Your Head Festival Germany 2015), due out November 25th via Metal Blade Records. To hear the live version of “Wield Lightning To Split The Sun”, head over to NoCleanSinging.com now: nocleansinging.com

To pre-order Gods To The Godless (Live at Bang Your Head Festival Germany 2015) in various formats, please visit metalblade.com/primordial – where the album’s title track can also be streamed.

Primordial‘s A.A. Nemtheanga comments: “It might seem like an unusual move, a double live album. Especially within the scene we are from, but the live album was once a staple of most bands’ careers and something we all grew up with in our collection. Pouring over tour dates, gear information and killer live pics. Ok so it’s not ‘Live After Death‘ but you can see the attraction and taste the romance involved, right? Fact is though we hadn’t planned it, it was basically a happy coincidence, the good people at Bang Your head who took such a risk booking us the first time on a more traditional old school rock festival had us back for the fourth time, gave us a proper headlining set length and happened to mention afterwards that they had a mobile recording device rigged up and ready to go. When we listened back to the tapes we found something we could work with and the idea took shape. If you love the band, you will know what to expect: blood, guts and passion – and believe us, the double vinyl will look beautiful! If we’ve been in your orbit, but you’ve never trained your sights on us properly, this might be a good place to start as the sound is massive, the old songs have some added muscle and the planets aligned to make ‘Gods to the Godless‘ perhaps a great introduction to the band. From our side, it felt like something important to do, like taking advantage of an opportunity to make not only a standalone album in its own right, but also add something rich to the heritage and tapestry of metal that once hinged on the live album. The tradition reaches back into the 70s and 80s and we are proud to have our own small place in that pantheon! And for the record…not one single over dub. This is truly Live and Dangerous…”

Gods To The Godless (Live at Bang Your Head Festival Germany 2015) track-listing
1. Gods to the Godless (Live)

Raunchy Signs With Massacre Records To Release New Album

Massacre Records is happy to announce that Danish outfit Raunchy is now officially part of the label’s roster, with an upcoming sixth album scheduled for release later this year. Massacre Records comments:

“Let us introduce you to Raunchy just in case you aren’t familiar with them: Everything started back in 1992 when Jesper Tilsted, Jesper Kvist, and Morten Toft Hansen formed Raunchy. About two years later, Lars Vognstrup and Lars Christensen joined the band and the first demo was recorded.

“Two additional demos later, the band signed with Mighty Music’s sub label Drug(s) in 2000 and the debut album ‘Velvet Noise’ was released in 2001 in Scandinavia. After the album release, keyboardist and supporting vocalist Jeppe Christensen joined the band. Raunchy was the first Danish band ever that signed with Nuclear Blast Records (2002)! With a new label, the band’s debut was also released in Europe and North America.

“2004 started off with singer Lars leaving the band. Kasper Thomsen was later introduced as new vocalist and the second album ‘Confusion Bay’ was released in February 2004.

“Raunchy signed with Lifeforce Records in 2005 and released album #3 ‘Death Pop Romance’ in early 2006, which once again received great reviews from the music press. Having already played at Germany’s Summer Breeze or Wacken Open Air in the past, the band embarked on a full-length EU tour called Danish Dynamite Tour along with HateSphere and Volbeat in 2006. ‘Wasteland Discotheque’ hit the shelves in 2008, followed by the band’s latest record ‘A Discord Electric’ in September 2010.

“During the past two decades, Raunchy toured with bands such as Threat Signal, Illdisposed or Mnemic and graced the billing of international festivals like Roskilde Festival, With Full Force or Brutal Assault.

“A new chapter in the history of Raunchybegan in 2013, when Mike Semesky (ex-The HAARP Machine) was announced as new vocalist, replacing Kasper Thomsen who left the band in spring 2013. With a new record deal under their belt, Raunchy are now ready to wreak havoc again!”
