“Black Lotus,” the new album from Sweden’s Sister Sin, is in stores today. Accompanying the full-length release, the music video for the first single “Chaos Royale” can be seen below, thanks to Loudwire.com (the video is not available in all areas – head over to the Loudwire link if it doesn’t play for you).
“Black Lotus” is the follow-up to 2012’s “Now & Forever,” and delivers Sister Sin’s patented brand of no bullshit, full-throttle heavy metal. You can also hear the full album over at this location.
Written by guitarist Jimmy Hiltula and drummer Dave Sundburg, the “Black Lotus” story began in May at Leon Music Studios outside Karlstad, Sweden, with Rikard Lofgren and Gustav Ydenius, along with Cameron Webb (Motorhead, Megadeth) on board to mix.
Vocalist Liv Jagrell discusses the origin of the title: “The album title Black Lotus came up after a couple songs were already written. They seemed to have darker touch than before and somehow Black Lotus summed that feeling up. Lyric-wise, the inspiration comes from all kinds of places. Mostly personal struggles but also politics and fiction.”
