Great White Replaces Vocalist Terry Ilous With Mitch Malloy

Legendary rock band Great White announce that Mitch Malloy is now its lead singer. Malloy, a celebrated songwriter and artist now based in Nashville, takes the reigns as only the third lead vocalist in Great White’s 36-year history.

“Mitch is an incredible singer, artist, songwriter and engineer,” lead guitarist, Mark Kendall said. “We’re beyond excited to stretch our musical muscles with a fresh, new take on Great White’s catalog of hits. Terry Ilous has been released to join his other projects. We wish him the best of luck and thank him for his run with Great White.”

Malloy, who originally hails from Dickinson, N.D., charted his first solo single, “Anything At All” in 1992. His subsequent hits “Nobody Wins In This War” and “Our Love Will Never Die” also made Billboard’s Top 100. Most recently he’s been cranking out penned hits and producing clients for his Malloy Master Tracks studio. These clients include Taylor Swift, Boys Like Girls, Kenny Loggins, Craig Morgan, Johnny Gates and many more.

Malloy has been in this is this situation before. In 1996 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee, Van Halen, asked Malloy to take the reigns as its singer. Although Malloy didn’t take the gig, he further established his reputation as a universally- respected frontman. He’s thrilled to be a part of Great White. He’s not trying to be a “clone” of previous singers Jack Russell and Ilous.

“I have to represent this music honourably,” Malloy said. “I respect what has come before me, and have to remind fans of where they were when they first heard these songs. I also have to be myself at the same time. When I first heard my own voice with Great White’s music, I knew something special was going on.”

Guitarist and keyboardist, Michael Lardie, praised Malloy for his musical chops and reputation. “We had an immediate rapport with Mitch,” Lardie said. “I’m positive the fans will embrace Mitch and continue to support Great White. This music is bigger than any one person.”

“We’re ready to rock with Mitch,” drummer Audie Desbrow added. “2018 and beyond still has a lot in store for Great White. Don’t ever count us down and out. It feels like we’re just getting started.”

Pierce The Veil Drummer Mike Fuentes Taking A “Break” From The Band Following Troubling Allegations

This past November allegations were made against Pierce The Veil drummer Mike Fuentes by two women, accusing him of attempting to conduct sexual relationships with them while they were underage. One post included screencaps of drummer Mike Fuentes allegedly pleasuring himself on a video chat as evidence. Pierce The Veil have now spoken out on those allegations with Fuentes to take a break from the band for the time being. The below statement was posted on the matter:

“From the day we started this band, the four of us agreed that we not only wanted to write and play songs together for the rest of our lives, but we also wanted to build a strong community through our music and provide a safe place for ourselves and our fans to express our shared values through creativity, open-mindedness, love and respect. Over the last ten years we have accomplished that and so much more with the help of our incredible fans. The bond that we share in this community is stronger than we could have ever imagined and is truly our pride and joy.

Recently, an allegation was made about Mike from an anonymous source pertaining to events dating back nearly ten years ago. We are taking this allegation seriously and would like to share the steps we are taking in response. Below are a few words from Mike.

“I’m of course aware of the allegation made about me from almost ten years ago, and I cannot begin to describe how difficult and disturbing this entire situation has been for everyone involved. I do not take this allegation lightly and would never downplay it. I have empathy for any human being who has experienced abuse or mistreatment in their lives, and I am inspired to see so many come forward and speak out about it. No one should have to suffer in silence, and I am thankful that the world is finally starting to listen. I also want to assure you that I have never intentionally manipulated or abused anyone in my life. That is not the person I am, how I was raised, or the type of behavior that I condone. I strongly believe in the empowerment of abuse victims, so if I have ever made anyone feel like they are less than equal, I am sincerely sorry.

I love playing music more than anything on earth, and I am constantly humbled by the support of our fans. I do not want the allegation surrounding me to negatively affect the reputation or future of the band, or to break the bond and trust that we have created with our fans over the years. So, I have decided to take a break and step away from my position in the band in hopes that this will allow my band mates and fans to continue focusing on the music and message that Pierce The Veil stands for. Though I am far from perfect, I do have a moral compass and try to stand up for what is right. While away from the band, I will continue to work hard to live my life in that way.”

Since the allegation first surfaced, our band has discussed how we can ensure the PTV community is always a safe environment. We’ve made many efforts over the years to protect our fans, and we can and will do more. We believe in creating spaces where people can seek help for any issues they are struggling with and provide resources and tools to help.

As a band, we are respecting Mike’s decision to take break and step away. Unfortunately, without a core member of the band, we will be respectfully withdrawing from the upcoming U.K. tour with All Time Low. We promise our fans that we will be back again very soon.”

Down Frontman Phil Anselmo Intends To Cancel 2016 European Festival Shows

The organisers of Hellfest in France have announced that Down, the band led by former Pantera frontman, Phil Anselmo, have pulled out of this year’s edition of the festival and that Puscifer will take their place. They also claim that the band has scrapped plans to tour Europe altogether, following the well publicised drunken remarks from Anselmo at Dimebash this year. A letter sent to the organisers from the vocalist, which was published by the festival’s admins earlier, reads as follows:

“My awful mistake has taken a toll on my reputation, and justly so. However, I must point out, you damned-well know me better than this drunken incident could ever describe. Hellfest is my heart.

“And my embarrassment is tremendous, because I only have love for people all over this skirmishing earth. So my brother, it fucking rips my heart into further pieces to let you know, I don’t think I should do any Euro festivals this year.

“So please I beg you, give me this time to get my brain clear, and to come back (if you will have me back) next year my brother, I implore you.”

Thy Art Is Murder Parts With Vocalist CJ

Australian outfit Thy Art Is Murder just posted the following message online about parting ways with vocalist CJ McMahon:

“After much conjecture and ambiguity on his behalf, it is with a heavy heart that we must announce today that CJ is no longer a part of Thy Art Is Murder. We have worked so hard from day one to make this band what it is now, and develop the reputation that we have and he had been there with us every step of the way.

“We like to think that even if someone doesn’t like our music that they can at least respect our work ethic. This band has taken us to places we never thought we would see and to share stages with many bands we never thought we would get to play with or meet, let alone call friends. It is unfortunate that with our best year to date and our biggest paved out before us that he has decided to leave.

“All this being said, touring as hard as we do does take its toll on you physically, but more importantly mentally and emotionally. We are an underground metal band, and have been so fortunate over the last two years to carve out a small income thanks to so many dedicated and generous fans around the world. For some people, it comes to a turning point in their life where that income is no longer enough for their personal goals, and that point has come for CJ. We would like to wish him all our best as he leaves the band and moves onward to start a family and new life with his loving fiancée.

“The four of us are continuing forward into 2016 for some of the biggest and best tours of our lives. We won’t be slowing down or missing any shows. We head back out next month with Parkway Drive and Architects throughout Europe and the UK and will be taking one of our favourite vocalists with us, Nick Arthur from Molotov Solution.

“Thy Art is what we have done with all of our adult lives and we have put absolutely everything we have into the band and the friendship between the four of us. That friendship and drive to create extreme music is what has kept us together through thick and thin. Unfortunately not everyone can share this fire.”

The Paramedic Parts With Vocalist Mike Luciano

The Paramedic – which was recently accused of racism and homophobia by a number of music news outlets – has issued the following announcement about splitting with front man Mike Luciano:

“As many of you may know, we did not make it to the last few dates of the Music Over Matter Tour, and we haven’t yet issued an explanation as to why… The Paramedic and vocalist Mike Luciano have mutually decided to part ways.

“Over the past few years, there have been creative differences, and differences in opinion between Mike and the rest of The Paramedic. There was always a strong friendship that came first, so these things were easy for us to overcome, for the most part.

“As of late, there has been a lot of attention on Mike for some of his opinions and views that he has shared with the world. Although this wasn’t a problem for Mike, the rest of us in The Paramedic did have an issue with these things, as we do not share those views and opinions with him.

“Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and freedom of speech is something that we all share. So, Mike is free to say whatever he wants, whenever he wants. The problem is that when you are in a band with 5 other people, whatever you say, and whatever people think about you kind of gets spilled over onto everyone else, regardless of their own views and opinions.

“Mike is still a good friend of all of ours, and that will never change. It’s just not fair for all of us to take the heat for the things he has said and the reputation he has built for himself. We are a pretty fucked up, pissed off band, and for the most part we really don’t give a shit about anything. But… There are some lines that even we cannot cross as a band. We do however stick by our friend and encourage him to say or do whatever he wants. That is his right, and we’ll never say anything bad about that. It’s just not for us.

“With all this being said, The Paramedic will never die. As a matter of fact, we’re not slowing down at all. Very soon, you guys are going to have the best music that the band has ever released. We are more proud of our new material than anything we have ever done before, musically AND vocally.

“We appreciate your undying support, and hope that you will continue to stick by us through this decision. We promise we will not let you down.”
