Nine More Bands Added to Brutal Assault to Include Nordjevel

Brutal Assault had this to say about the additions:

Blasting out of Byron Bay, almost as an affront to the serenity of their surrounds, PARKWAY DRIVE quickly established themselves as the most formidable force Australian heavy music had ever seen. A five- piece of astonishing power and understated charisma, PARKWAY DRIVE created unseen hysteria and are coming back to claim their festival-anthem crown.

How do you move from a band as pivotal as The Dillinger Escape Plan? For Liam Wilson, it meant ripping up the rulebook all over again. AZUSA make captivating music with unconventional nerve. Uniting the complementary skills of its members, their sound is a thrash-fusion tour de force. Defying expectations by embracing contradiction, AZUSA finds strength in vulnerability, harmony in dissonance and melody in discord.

The only pure metal attack in this update is a bunch of seasoned veterans with a long list of seminal acts in their CVs, coming to dominate BA with their relentless black metal project NORDJEVEL. Get ready for blast-fire annihilation propelled by one of the most insane drummers in the metal scene.

Norwegian-American electro metal project COMBICHRIST mark the return of ultimate genre merger with their infernal, yet extremely addictive sonic lunacy. Known by many as the Rammstein support that overshadowed Rammstein, COMBICHRIST led by Andy LaPlegua moves huge masses with its strange industrial metal sound that is uniquely even in the ‚aggrotech‘ scene.

Remaining within the ranks of metal-and-techno-fusion bands here comes VIOLENT MAGIC ORCHESTRA, an art project of complete harmony of techno, black metal, industrial, noise and emit light. Imagine black metal meets Kraftwerk.

Resonating with all the senses, CASPIAN are for fifteen years a solid and unshakable name in the post-rock scene and one of the best live acts from the genre. You can look forward for a show, which will bring welcomed relax during restless times on Brutal Assault.

Thunder rolls afar, unremitting rain, awaited gloomy deliverance gets under your skin. Sudden storm of unleashed instruments then quietness, absolute serenity. At the gates of hell or heaven depending on the listener’s philosophy. Cleverly mixing some kind of modern & ambient Black-Metal with Post-Hardcore tones, DÉLUGE does what has to be done whether you want it or not.

Music is mainly about fun and the Nordic mage Leo Moracchiolo is gonna bring fun factor to BA with his studio-project-transformed-into-band known on Youtube as FROG LEAP.

Final band to this update comes from the fertile grounds of Copenhagen’s underground; HEXIS combine black metal with hardcore and post-metal elements for almost ten years now.

Nightrage Posts New Music Video “The Damned” Online

Nightrage has released a music video for the single, “The Damned”, featured on the forthcoming album, “Wolf To Man,” where the band invites us to a mesmerizing melodic musical journey, telling the truthful story that guides us all the way to the inevitable demise of mankind. The music delivers a delicate and well-balanced blend between brutality and melody, as well as an intricate mix of thrashing riffs and hook filled choruses.

“The Damned” is out now on iTunes and Spotify via Despotz Records. Watch the new video below.

The band says, “Humans have given up on living for real and now just live for the next cheap thrill not giving a shit how to make it to the next day. It’s more important to have many “likes” on social media than it is to take care of or interact with the ones living around you. We and our bodies are just empty shells now losing the last of our damned souls to the cheap thrill of fake life online. It’s our own fault. Hate us and blame us. We are the damned!”

This relentless story of extinction is told with as much aggression as it is with intriguing and mesmerizing melodies. Memorable hooks and some of the catchiest choruses that metal has seen in decades, does nothing to compromise the brutality and honesty that Nightrage is known for.

Septicflesh Signs Record Deal With Nuclear Blast

Nuclear Blast is pleased to announce the worldwide signing of Greek symphonic death metal outfit, Septicflesh! The group’s unique blend of symphonic arrangements, avant garde elements, atomosphere and eviscerating extreme metal has been converting legions into fans since the 90s. Now, with a streak of modern classic albums under their belt such as “Sumerian Daemons” (2002), “Communion” (2008), “The Great Mass” (2011), “Titan” (2014), and now “Codex Omega” (2017) there seems to be no stopping this creative juggernaut.

“We are honored to have signed with one of the worlds leading record labels, Nuclear Blast records,” commented the band. “Septicflesh has always been a hard working band looking, to the future while keeping traditional elements and utilizing a modern and dark feel to our music. We needed someone who would understand this and we are happy to have found our new home with Nuclear Blast. In the meantime, our latest album ‘Codex Omega’ continues to gain ground worldwide. We will keep touring in support of it and prepare for the conquests set before us!”

Septicflesh plan on releasing their Nuclear Blast debut in 2019. More information to be announced in the near future so stay tuned.

Septicflesh’s latest album Codex Omega is the first to feature former Decapitated drummer Kerim “Krimh” Lechner. Months of hard work and experimentation crafted the album, and resulted in 10 compositions of dark sonic bliss. Lyrically and musically, ‘Codex Omega’ is by far the most infernal release of Septicflesh to date. The album was produced by highly acclaimed metal producer, Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Kreator). Besides the orchestral side represented once again by the Filmharmonic Orchestra of Prague, the band utilized traditional instruments such as Oud and Duduk and also a 12 string electro-acoustic guitar, enhancing the mystical atmosphere of the compositions. Of course as always, Codex Omega is dominated by the relentless death guitar riffing and the pale melodies that are the trademark of Septicflesh.

Septicflesh is:
Seth (brutal vocals, bass)
Christos Antoniou (guitars, orchestral)
Sotiris V. (guitars, clean vocals)
Kerim “Krimh” Lechner (drums)

New Album “Random Acts Of Carnage” On The Way From Meat Train

On the 29th of September a new level of horror, fear and ferocity will be pulling into a station near you. The whispered warnings have spread through the metal underground like wildfire and now the dreaded event is upon us…Meat Train have returned. Led by a deranged anti-priest, these sinister, soulless beasts of brutality are on a crusade of carnage. They not only want to watch the world burn, they want to kill as many people as possible as the flames engulf us all.

Contagion Records have taken it upon themselves to release Meat Train’s unholy book, the bestial bible, the manual to the end of all things…”Random Acts Of Carnage.” The eleven hymns of horror that nestle like vipers beneath the bloody insanity of the cover art explore the darkest depths of human behavior. From unflinching examinations of the chapters of history that shame our entire species to flesh eating fantasies and tales of the undead, Random Acts Of Carnage leaves no ghastly stone unturned, no shadowed corner unexplored.

The tales of terror are accompanied by musical muscle of the most intimidating power. The band that Terrorizer magazine once said would make you ‘”ick to your stomach” have never been more fiercely focussed. This is real death metal – filthy, grinding, decimating death metal that will drown you in blood and have you choking and gasping for more. Featuring a gruesome, guttural, guest backing vocal performance from Svenson Groß of Fleshcrawl, a guitar sound heavy enough to reduce bodies to pulp, a vocal presence to freeze the blood and a merciless bottom end that propels the listener into the meat grinder of the relentless drum assault – this album is unstoppable.

The track listing is:

1. Random Acts Of Carnage
2. Handle With Caer
3. Eat Or Be Eaten
4. Redneck Zombies
5. Orchards of Death
6. Fear The Machine
7. Stop Killing All The Whores
8. Wolf
9. Saviour
10. Insubordinate
11. Block 11

In the video we see a man going through immense suffering over a long period of time, never being able to grasp the things he craves, whilst faceless tormentors observe in indifference. This is incredibly grim, so enjoy.”

New EP “Thronosis” Detailed By Excommunion

As the world crumbles beneath our feet, a slumbering beast awakens to feast on the weak. That beast is Excommunion. The band will break a years-long silence with the upcoming release of “Thronosis” via Dark Descent Records on May 12th.

Fifteen years after the sonic blitzkrieg that was the debut album “Superion,” Colorado born Excommunion triumphantly returns with the new EP “Thronosis.” Christbutcher and Kyle Spanswick once again form the backbone for this relentless return.

The band comments: “In death we are born again, to rise once more with new form, beneath the Shadow of the Logos. Old doctrines are cast into the abyss and old flesh flensed and given to the flames of pyres. Let only the old name remain as our epithet. Let all else burn and fall from this new and glorious form within the paradoxical light of a greater heresy. In death, Excommunion arises once more…”

The release was recorded, mixed and mastered at Flatline Audio by Dave Otero and Excommunion. The cover art (shown below) was created by Lauri Laaksonen (Desolate Shrine).

The track listing is as follows:

1. Twilight of Eschaton
2. Nemesis
3. World Crucifier
4. Blessed is the Epoch of Darkness and Strife
