Waking The Cadaver Officially Calls It Quits

New Jersey slam outfit Waking The Cadaver has checked in with the following announcement about deciding to call it quits:

“It is with sad news that WTC will have to announce that we are no longer a band. Truth be told, we haven’t been a band since our last show we played in Seattle October 2013 on the Dying Fetus/Exhumed tour.

“We were never sure what the status of the band was going to be all this time, that’s why there hasn’t been an announcement, but some of you have figured it out and it’s only right to let everyone know the truth.

“There’s no bad blood with members or anything, we are all just living busy lives and are unable to commit to the demands of being in this band. Who knows, maybe in a couple years we’ll jam again.

“We want to thanks all our fans world wide…it’s so amazing how you people have made this band able to do things other slam bands would dream of doing. We sincerely love you all from the bottom of our cold dead hearts!!! Stay brutal.”

The band also comments on other projects from its members: “Mike Mayo is currently jamming in the grindcore outfit Ground and John Hartman is continuing his legacy in the legendary Mortal Decay. Support these awesome bands.”

Waking The Cadaver released three full-length albums in its lifetime, capping with 2013’s “Real-Life Death.”

Richmond, Virginia based Forcefield Records continues to expand its roster of extreme underground artists with the signing of Unsacred. The label comments:

“Having formed in 2012, Unsacred — comprised of bassist/vocalist Hunter McCarty, guitarist Miguel Falcon and drummer Scott Bartley — has already released three well-received independent EPs, 2012’s Where The Light Dims and Three Sisters, and 2013’s Firmament.

“Channeling primordial, threatening metal riffage and scathing vocal torment Unsacred pumps their organic black metal full of punk-inspired rhythms and crust blasts; thus birthing an output fit for consumption by both devotees to the Scandinavian black metal sound and also to adherents of the more contemporary, black metal inspired acts who are currently wreaking havoc throughout the underground.

“Unsacred now utilizes 2014 to release the band’s most contemptuous and blasting material yet in the form of False Light. Recorded by Ricky Olson and mixed by Bryan Walthall and Ricky Olson at Rusty’s and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Engineering, False Light delivers a punishing slab of seven tracks fans of Craft, Horna, Gehenna, The Secret and Mutilation Rites will undoubtedly hail and praise.”

New Album “The Fiction Maze” Announced As Persuader Signs With Inner Wound Recordings

Swedish power metal act Persuader, featuring Savage Circus members Jens Carlsson (vocals) and Emil Norberg (guitars), have signed a deal with Inner Wound Recordings for the release of the band’s first album in eight years – “The Fiction Maze.” The album is targeted for release in late 2013/early 2014. Exact dates, track listing and more will be announced during the coming months.

The band commented on the new album: “So finally, we’re back! A journey that began some five years ago has finally come to the end of the line and we’re extremely proud to uncover the new Persuader album entitled “The Fiction Maze”. A lot of hard work was put into creating the perfect mix of everything we’ve done so far, expanded on the Persuader sound while keeping the core that is the band; heavy riffing, strong melodies, pounding rhythms and soaring vocals. Combined with a crushing production courtesy of mixer extraordinaire Ronnie Björnström [Aeon, Apostasy, Bone Gnawer] this turned out to be quite a beast of an album, the true pinnacle of our career so far. The time has come, now join us through the fiction maze!”

Persuader was formed in Umeå, Sweden 1997, and have since then released three albums: “The Hunter” [2000], “Evolution Purgatory” [2004] and “When Eden Burns” [2006], all highly acclaimed in the metal scene.

Persuader is:
Jens Carlsson – Vocals
Fredrik Hedström – Bass
Emil Norberg – Guitars
Daniel Sundbom – Guitars
