New Album “Entering A Timeless Winter” Announced By Talv

Italian atmospheric black metal act Tav is set to release the new album “Entering A Timeless Winter” on November 3rd through A Sad Sadness Song Records. The album is the third full length release from the band.

Hailing from Italy, Talv started in early 2012 under the name of Trees In The Fog. The purpose has always been to merge dissonant and melancholic black metal with a touch of ambient music. Like painting a dismal scenario, Talv’s new effort is drowned into the darkest north-Italian naturalistic black metal inspiration. The cold and freezing guitar sound reminds of Tenebrae in Perpetuum and Beatrik’s classics, while the prevailing desperate feelings position the band within the groove of depressive black metal.

What makes of Talv a personal and unique project is the wise equilibrium between a hateful, cold hunger and a fragile background soundscape. The ColdWorld cover further emphasizes the strong visionary ambient perspective and inspiration of this raising underground project.

The band commented: “‘Entering a Timeless Winter’ is going to reveal the artistic direction of this new cold journey.”

The track listing is:

1. Dreaming a Funeral in Another Life
2. A Sad Moon Concealed by Pines
3. An Eternal Snowfall Will Come
4. Sidereal Hypothermia
5. Winterreise (Coldworld cover)

New Album “Claiming Supremacy” Detailed By Game Over

Italian thrash metal heroes Game Over are going to release the new album “Claiming Supremacy” on November 17th via Scarlet Records.

Following the widely successful “Crimes Against Reality” and the “Blessed Are The Heretics” EP, which confirmed the band as one of the most promising metal acts in Europe and among the NWoTM best, “Claiming Supremacy” is without any doubt the band’s most mature album so far.

Inspired by the classic Bay Area thrash metal scene of the 80’s, Game Over mixes those influences with modern sounds and a very distinctive personality. “Claiming Supremacy” is the perfect combination of the band’s furious riffing, hardcore attitude and classic metal influences, with very obscure lyrics and, of course, those anthemic choruses that fans recognize as a band trademark.

Overall the album is heavier, faster and ruthless than ever. Lyrics vary from B-movie scenarios to social-political themes, science fiction, mythology and history. The album has been mixed and mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust), who has previously worked with Midnight, SunnO))), Poison Idea, Integrityand many more. “Claiming Supremacy,” which will be released in Japan by Marquee, will also be available in a vinyl version limited to 500 copies.

The cover artwork (shown below) was handled by acclaimed artist Mario E. Lopez (Evil Invaders, Impalers, Hyades). The track list is as follows:

1. Onward To Blackness
2. Two Steps Into The Shadows
3. Last Before The End
4. My Private Nightmare
5. Blessed Are The Heretics
6. Eleven
7. Broken Trails
8. Shattered Souls
9. Lysander
10. Show Me What You Got

Details Of New Album “Nagual Sun” Issued By I Klatus

Chicago doom/sludge eclectics I Klatus will release the new album “Nagual Sun” October 13th via digital download and analog (cassette) formats. The highly anticipated follow-up to 2012’s “Kether” is the band’s third full-length album (and fifth release overall). An official video for album track “Sorcerer’s Gaze” is available in the player below.

The overall sound of “Nagual Sun” maintains the gritty roots for which I Klatus is known, while at the same time launches the group into new and more fully fleshed-out dimensions of weirdness. Tom Denney is the primary soothsayer behind I Klatus. Denney, whose background is steeped in the visual arts, has provided artwork and monsters for a laundry list of signed metal acts in the community (Kylesa, Black Cobra, Samothrace, Cannibal Corpse, Cephalic Carnage and Rwake just to name a few). His guitar squalls hard against the shores of this stoner metal effort, but also manages to rise above the storm in melodic hymns. Denney trades growling vocals with bass player, John E. Bomher, Jr. (Bury The Machines, Yakuza), who keeps things grinding nicely, while also providing some sweeter tones when they let songs open up and sweep across more ethereal planes.

Bomher doubles as the band’s producer with his extensive experience in the studio; his work on the album sets this release head and shoulders above their previous efforts in terms of production quality. The drums are championed by Chris Wozniak (Lair of the Minotaur, Earthen Grave, Serpent Crown) who metes out doom in guttural timing. Wozniak just pounds and pounds, hitting that sonic-pocket, which gives the stoner/doom genre its feeling of lift and expansiveness. Some noises and textures by former member, Robert Bauwens, are also tucked into the nooks and crannies of these tracks.

The track listing for the album is:

Side A:
1. Beneath the Waves
2. Serpent Cults
3. Sorcerer’s Gaze
4. Moment of Devastation

Side B:
1. The Alivist
2. Jaws of the Shark
3. Father John Thomas (The Penitent)
4. Final Communion
