Distant Landscape Posts “The Desire” Lyric Video

Distant Landscape just released a lyric video for “The Desire,” taken from the “Insights” album due for release on May 23rd via Sliptrick Records. The clip was created by Adhiira Art and can be seen in the player below, with Sliptrick Records commenting:

“It’s a beautiful, melodic, sweeping track full of discordant guitar, layered vocals and simple harmony. The ever-moving images within the video represent distorted memories and the rushing of time. While outside everything changes, inside ‘the desire is still the same.'”

Suffering Hour Unveils New Album “In Passing Ascension”

Today the death metal mavericks from Suffering Hour premiere new track “For the Putridity of Man.” The track hails from the band’s upcoming album, “In Passing Ascension,” set for international release on May 26th via Blood Harvest Records on both CD and vinyl formats.

One of the most exciting new bands Blood Harvest has had the pleasure of hearing, Suffering Hour exhibits a power and maturity that exceeds the band’s otherwise short existence.

Cover art was created by Witchrist’s Alexander Brown, and the band also comments on this new album release: “Suffering Hour are proud to announce our allegiance with Swedish label Blood Harvest. We will be releasing our debut album, ‘In Passing Ascension,’ on CD and on black and colored wax. Blood Harvest has done releases for some of our personal favorite bands, such as Altars, Impetuous Ritual, and Adversarial, just to name a few.

“We are extremely excited to be working with a label of this quality in every respect of the word, and we’re 100% sure Rodrigo will be doing our album justice. In Passing Ascension is an album we have been working on since summer of 2014, and after years of hard work, we’re ready to present the album to you all. The album is our take on cosmic blackened death metal, with themes deeply rooted in nihilism and cynicism. Some of the big influences on this album range from Inquisition and Mgla to The Chasm and Dead Congregation. There will be more news coming soon, so stay tuned.”

1. Insufferable Scorn
2. For the Putridity of Man
3. Devouring Shapeless Void
4. The Abrasive Black Dust
5. Withering Microcosmos
6. Through Vessels of Arcane Power
7. Procession to Obscure Infinity

New Concert Film “Paris” Announced By Rammstein

Today, the official pre-sale for the concert film “Rammstein: Paris” begins ahead of the worldwide release on May 19. Get it at this location.

The film, which will be released in many configurations, sets new standards. In March 2012, during the Made in Germany tour, Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund shot two acclaimed Rammstein concerts at the Palais Omnisports arena in Paris in front of 17,000 spectators.

Featuring 22 songs from the band’s entire repertoire, the resulting film is not only the most spectacular collection of imagery about the most successful German rock band of our time, but also a masterpiece of music cinema, capturing Rammstein’s energy as a unique visual and sonic experience.

Åkerlund is notorious for his radical, pioneering video clips for bands such as The Prodigy, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, and also Rammstein. Absurd details, upended perspectives, shocks of contrast, and sensory confusion flicker through his music productions, and in “Rammstein: Paris,” he celebrates this from the very first minute.

Rammstein plays 22 songs (128 minutes), ranging from “Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?,” the first song from the very first album, to “Frühling in Paris” from the last studio album “Liebe ist für alle da.”

Artistically and dramaturgically ingeniously staged, like an overwhelming video clip, “Rammstein: Paris” is one of the best rock concert films of all time. “Absolument.”

A first impression of this masterpiece can be seen right here:

Lyric Video For New Song “The Dirge” Issued By Nighon

Finnish industrial/symphonic metal act Nighon issued a powerful lyric video for the new song “The Dirge.” The video is the second clip lifted from “The Somme,” the band’s brand new album which is scheduled for release on May 5th via Inverse Records.

The song ‘The Dirge’ raises the question: ‘Why do we have wars?’ They are horrible and the majority of mankind seems to despise it. The song was inspired by the annexation of Crimea, the Vietnam war and the Korean war.

Björn commented: “The lyrics I wrote tells us about the consequences of letting our hate spin out of control, and when governments twist lies into truths to justify war!”

“The Somme” is a conceptual release with stories from World War I, World War II and the similarities between those and the crises we see today in our world. It’s track listing is as follows:

1. Marseille 1914
2. The Greatest Of Catastrophes (see music video here)
