Circle Announces “Terminal” Album Release

Circle’s latest album “Terminal,” confirmed for release on June 23rd through Southern Lord, is pure hedonistic pleasure. Check out advance track “Kill City” below. Southern Lord also issued this statement:

“Never content on staying the same, Circle has created an idiosyncratic cocktail of sonic fusions, conjuring an impulsive, dizzying energy that stirs a spirit of curiosity within the listener, and possesses all who encounter the band.

“Whilst many would run out of creative steam after more than thirty albums, Circle continues to boldly explore sonic soundscapes, venturing curiously into terrains of Stooges-esque swagger, trance-inducing kraut rock mantras, beautiful electronic ambience, psychedelic rock noodling, arena storming AOR weirdness, ’70s prog rock extravagance, glam pop pomp, and of course their core sound, heavy metal, not to mention other peculiar and daring sounds that simply cannot be pigeonholed.”

1. Rakkautta Al Dente
2. Terminal
3. Saxo
4. Imperiumi
5. Kill City

Video For New Song “Red On You” Available From Pteroglyph

Jimmy MacGregor, under the pseudonym Pteroglyph, issued a video clip for the new song “Red On You.” The song is taken from the upcoming new album “Death Of A Prince,” which is set for release on June 23rd.

“I used to regularly wake up in a cold sweat from a nightmare where I was constantly being chased by some sort of terrifying sinister force,” comments Jimmy. “I put the reasons for the dream down to times of high stress in my life and ‘Red On You’ is basically a way of addressing this and the need for change. It’s the idea that running away from your problems doesn’t make them go away.”

The blood soaked video was shot on a shoestring budget by a good friend of Jimmy’s, Ben Daure from Grape Productions. “I approached Ben with a more comical idea involving similar gross themes but this was quickly overturned in favour of creating the most graphic and gruesome video we could. We enlisted the help of some close friends who are extremely talented at visual effects and latex prosthetics to make all the gory mess. We recruited more friends to be the main protagonists and even borrowed our guitarists children to star in the video…”

The track listing for the album is:

1. Left Blind
2. Unaccountable
3. Deceit Of Choice
4. Red On You
5. The Wanderer
6. Death Of A Prince (song streaming here)
7. Komplex
8. D.O.D
9. Heavy Casualties

Hollow Streaming “Anomaly” Single

U.S. metalcore quartet Hollow (not to be confused with the Canadian black/death metal band of the same name) has released debut single “Anomaly.” The single comes from upcoming debut album “Home Isn’t Where The Heart Is,” which is set to release on June 9th.

The band formerly known as Hollow Heart mixes together a variety of styles on this release for a modern metal sound. Pre-orders are online here and bassist / vocalist John Flynn comments:

“‘Home Is Not Where The Heart Is’ was originally going to be a concept album, and these lyrics were the only ones we kept after we decided against that. It’s all about how bleak the future looks. They describe all of humanity being narrowed down to one big city that’s sucking up the rest of our natural resources. So inside the walls everything looks fine, but the rest of world is just a big desert. It’s very Mad Max and it’s very Matrix.”
