Leprous Releases “From The Flame” Music Video

Norway’s Leprous is now rolling out the campaign for fifth studio album “Malina” (due out August 25th, 2017 via InsideOutMusic) by debuting irst single and video “From The Flame” today.

The band checked in with the following comment: “‘From the Flame’ is definitely one of our favourite tracks from the album, with a strong hook and memorable melodies. Despite it sounding big and catchy, it also sounds pretty organic and it has a depth to it. We’re super proud of the son and feel it represents Leprous 2017 very well!”

Video director David Solbjørg of Twitchy Films added about the clip: “It’s always fun and challenging to work with Leprous. This time around we chose to shoot with RED 8K cameras and brand new colour science (ipp2) to get as atmospheric shots as possible in a demanding low light environment.”

Metal Blade Records launches Summer edition of “6 Bands in 60 Seconds”

– July 13th, 2016 –

In conjunction with RED Music, Metal Blade Records has launched a new edition of the “6 Bands in 60 Seconds” campaign, where CEO Brian Slagel spotlights six artists from the label’s roster every three months. The goal of the promotion is to help fans discover new music from some of the most promising acts in the scene. The latest installment of the series features Abnormality, Exumer, Redemption, Native Construct, Good Tiger, and Mother Feather; to watch the video clip, and to learn more about the artists, please visit: metalblade.com/6bands

This past April, Abnormality released their sophomore full-length, Mechanisms of Omniscience – a “…seething, roaring, fire-breathing death metal beast…” (MetalSucks.net). Marrying the ceaseless brutality coming out of New York and New England to the hyper-blasting intensity endemic to Quebecois death metal, Mechanisms of Omniscience is as unrelenting as it is passionate, and the album tackles real world issues with intelligence and raw emotion. For more information, please visit: facebook.com/AbnormalityOfficial

German thrashers Exumer unleashed their fourth full-length, The Raging Rides, earlier this year, with critics declaring it “…a non-stop fist-banger with riffs that cut like razors and vocals that punish hard” (DecibelMagazine.com). A deliberate and violent thrash attack that stays true to the band’s 30 year legacy, The Raging Rides is “…THE yardstick for thrash metal in 2016″ (Rock Hard Magazine, Germany). For more information, please visit: facebook.com/exumerofficial

Redemption – featuring Nick van Dyk, Ray Alder (Fates Warning, Engine), Sean Andrews, and Chris Quirarte (as well as guitarist Bernie Versailles, who is presently on an indefinite medical hiatus) – released their sixth full-length, The Art of Loss, this past February. Containing over 70 minutes of their unique blend of passion, melody, aggression and complexity, The Art of Loss also includes special guest appearances from Chris Broderick, John Bush, Marty Friedman, Simone Mularoni and Chris Poland. For more information, please visit: facebook.com/RedemptionBand

Hailed as a “masterpiece” by HeavyBlogIsHeavy.com (5/5), Quiet World (2015) is the debut full-length from progressive metal outfit Native Construct. Written and largely self-produced while the band members were full-time students at the Berklee College of Music, Quiet World saw the group land on the Billboard charts (#56 Hard Music Albums Chart; #85 New Artist Chart) and join the likes of Between the Buried and Me, Enslaved, and more on the road – proving that it is anything but quiet in Native Construct‘s world. For more information, please visit: facebook.com/NativeConstruct

Featuring former members of Tesseract, The Safety Fire, and Architects UK, Good Tiger released their debut album, A Head Full of Moonlight, digitally in 2015 (after crowd-funding a staggering $45,980!), with the first single, “Where Are The Birds”, being heard on BBC Radio 1. This past April, the band signed with Blacklight Media (the new label formed by Chris Santos – executive chef and managing partner of the New York City restaurants VANDAL, The Stanton Social and Beauty & Essex – together with Brian Slagel of Metal Blade Records) to give A Head Full of Moonlight a physical release – which only furthered Good Tiger‘s success in the music world. For more information, please visit: facebook.com/GoodTigerOfficial

Currently on the road with the annual Warped Tour, Mother Feather released their self-titled full-length in May, giving fans 10 tracks that marry the scratchy yet catchy, swaggering, and dangerous sounds of The Stooges, Blondie, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with the playfulness, pop sensibility, and exuberance of the finest 90s alt-rock. For their efforts, the group has garnered massive buzz for their unique brand of rock, vibrant Bowie-esque costumes and makeup, and enthralling live show. Having previously been featured on IFC.com, TeamCoco.com, and HuffingtonPost.com (who declared them as “a great New York City band in the tradition of Great New York City Bands”), Mother Feather was also recently named “new band of the week” by Metal Hammer, and has received much play on Daniel P. Carter’s Rock Show on BBC Radio 1. For more information, please visit: facebook.com/motherfeather

Joy Posts New Track “Red, White, And Blues”

Following a stream of “Hope Less,” the ironically named psych rock band Joy has now released a track titled “Red, White, and Blues.”

The California band will release new album, “Ride Along!,” on April 29tj via Tee Pee Records. Produced by vocalist / guitarist Zachary Oakley and recorded at San Diego’s Audio Design Studios (Earthless, Rocket From the Crypt), the album contains nine new Joy compositions and a searing cover of ZZ Top’s “Certified Blues.”

The track “Red, White, and Blues” (available below) features Earthles drummer Mario Rubalcaba and Sacri Monti guitarist Brenden Dellar ripping alongside Joy frontman / guitarist Zachary Oakley and bassist Justin Hulson.

“We are SUPER stoked to have been able to session with Earthless drummer Mario Rubalcaba on this record,” comments Oakley. “I had the tune ‘Red, White and Blues’ laying around for awhile, but something about the tempo and groove just wasn’t jiving right. But man, Mario is one the best drummers in the universe and he took this track into psychedelic-riot / speed-freak tempo which is exactly what it needed and things just clicked.”

He goes on to sa y, “Lyrically, it’s an observational commentary on the current American condition; out of control police violence, riots in the streets, racism and minority oppression (to name but a few) masked by the illusion of freedom, packaged and sold to us by a privileged, corrupt few. Stand side by side and battle these RED, WHITE and BLUES!”

Byzantine Posts 2015 Recap Message To Fans

Chris Ojeda from Byzantine just checked in with this year-end recap message and update about what to expect in 2016:

“Hey guys, OJ here! We have been really quiet here in the Byzantine camp during the last month as things are winding down for 2015. This year has been a roller coaster for the band as we have had some of the coolest things and some of the worst things happen. We will start with the worst…

“This year we lost Matt Wolfe as the drummer of Byzantine. This came as a shock to us and I personally didn’t think I would be carrying on with Byzantine without Skip, Tony and Matt. BUT, the show must go on! We are currently in the process of finding the next member of our band that is willing to get into the trenches and continue to make waves for Byzantine.

“We are currently looking for tours for Spring, Summer and Fall so if any of you around the world want to see Byzantine live, write your congressman and favorite band and request to see us on their tour!

“Now for the good stuff… With the help of Adam Pollock @ (RED), we released our 5th album on our own label, Snakepit Music. Kodi, Zach and Nick @ The Syndicate were instrumental spreading the word around the airwaves and in the press. The Art of Christopher Lovell produced the hands down BEST album cover we have ever had! And lastly, Jose and Sirius XM allowed us to sit beside our heroes at the big boys table. Thanks to all you guys!

“We toured with some fantastic bands in Wednesday 13, IKILLYA, Thy Will Be Done, Your Chance To Die and played some great one off shows like South X Southwest in Austin and Rock n Shock in Worcester.

“Our album, financed ONLY by fans, friends, family members and the band itself took up real estate on many Album of the Year lists as well as finishing in the top 20 of the year for Loud Rock (CMJ) and Sirius Liquid Metal. So, to wrap this novella up, here’s our goals for 2016.

* Tour the West Coast of the US
* Tour Canada
* Tour Europe
* Play Festivals
* Write album 6

“We appreciate all the love, support and as always… we will keep on trucking. Chin up and Head Down. HERE’S TO A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2016!”
