Van Records Expanding With U.S. Division

Germany’s cult label Ván Records has sanctioned a partnership in the U.S. forging a new branch of the company to deliver the diverse catalog to more stateside listeners. Alongside the announcement, the label has also released new singles from The Ruins Of Beverast and Slaegt.

Having released over two-hundred albums, singles, EPs, splits, and more from across the realms of metal and rock since being founded in 2004, Ván Records has been largely responsible for the worldwide proliferation of acts such as The Devil’s Blood, Urfaust, King Dude, and countless others.

Now, Ván Records’ owner Sven Dinninghoff has furthered the label’s relationship with King Dude founder TJ Cowgill to help launch the new U.S. division of the entity out of Seattle. This new branch of Ván sees the catalog now distributed stateside through Revolver, making these titles much more accessible to fans across North America and beyond.

The first wave of titles to see U.S. release through this new deal will strike on May 19th, including new LPs from The Ruins Of Beverast, Slaegt, Gold, and Dread Sovereign, with many more to follow. A Ván Records retail shop will also be launched this Summer.

Cowgill states, “I am honored and proud to be a part of the ever growing Ván Records family, from working at first with Sven as an artist on the roster to now, becoming an integral part of the family as head of the label’s U.S. office. We have been planning this expansion now for over almost eight months, and seeing it come to life has been a truly awesome experience. Our dedicated staff and myself hope that through this expansion we will bring even more quality and excellence known from Ván into the lives of every single fan, record store and distributor in North America. Hail the glory of Lucifer!”

Nervecell Discusses Leaving Unique Leader Records

Nervecell just checked in with the following statement about the band’s current label situation and upcoming album:

“We’d like to clear the air about this as we’ve been getting a lot of questions about whether we’re still with Unique Leader Records for North America. The fact is we’ve left Unique Leader Records for reasons not worth publicly mentioning, as it only creates more speculation.

“It was a decision we made ourselves for the band’s best interest. What’s important to us now is that we focus on our new album ‘Past, Present…Torture.’ It’s completed, sounds absolutely killer and is ready to be released soon. So if there is any U.S. labels / A&R executives reading this or interested to work with us, the door is open and you know where to find us.

“Having said that, we are super excited to be back with our European label home Lifeforce Records who will release ‘Past, Present…Torture’ for all our European fans this summer. Cheers!”

Roxx Records Turns 15 This Year

Christian metal distro Roxx Records is officially celebrating 15 years of existence today, with the label commenting:

“We are very happy to announce Roxx Records has made it to 15 years! From our very first release which was put out back in 2002 to promote the ‘Extreme Mardi Gras’ which was a 15 year anniversary to the first ‘Metal Mardi Gras’ in 1987.

“These had actually been sold out a long time ago, but we recently found a case of 30 that were in hiding. We have come a long way since then and have released quite a few new albums and many classic reissues through the years. Check them all out here if you like…

“We are not going to have a huge celebration around this because quite frankly we have never really been about self-promotion it’s all about the music and the higher purpose of what we do. But we are happy about this significant milestone so we are going to do a couple of things just to mark the occasion.

“First we have to thank Dave Kruse for creating this very special and cool new logo for us to mark this occassion, we quite like it! So we are going to print a handful of these on black t-shirts.

“We will only be ordering exactly as many pre orders as we get placed. Get those orders in now, we plan on placing this pre-order up from now until April 14th. April 14th the order will come down and then we will work on printing the shirts up for those that really want one!

“In addition we are working on our spring sampler, which will encompass 5 new tracks from this years releases and end with 10 tracks that we have put out through the years in our back catalog. All t-shirt orders will also get the CD free!

“So this is the first shirt we have ever done for Roxx Records in 15 years, even though we get requests for them quite a bit. So get one now while you can or forever hold your peace! Who knows if we will ever do one again 🙂

“A BIG ‘Thank You’ to all of you out there who have supported us through the years and helped to keep the Christian hard rock and metal music scene alive and well!”

Nocte Obducta Reveals New Album Details

Nocte Obducta’s new album “Totholz (Ein Raunen aus dem Klammwald)“ is currently available directly from the band at live shows, but will be officially released via MDD Records on May 26th, 2017.

The successor to last year’s “Mogontiacum (Nachdem die Nacht herabgesunken …)” contains 7 songs with a playing time of 42 minutes and will be available on a limited edition vinyl. MDD Records comments:

“What has become apparent from parts on ‘Mogontiacum’ finds consequent continuation on new work ‘Totholz (Ein Raunen aus dem Klammwald).’ Nocte Obducta closes the circle to the band’s musical roots and delivers a rough piece of metal, which in combination with the band typical harmonies has nothing of its uniqueness lost.”
